Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

Jan. 1, 2015

In this Nutrient Roundtable discussion, the practitioners discuss alternative approaches to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and some of the pitfalls with traditional methods. They introduce Designs for Health's new medical food, Ovaben, which is used to support the metabolic imbalances characteristic of PCOS. This product contains myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol, two naturally occurring isomers of inositol. Myo-inositol (MI) and D-chiro-inositol (DCI) have been recognized as important forms of inositol in human physiology and may be conditionally essential in PCOS patients. MI and DCI can be synthesized in the body, however, this conversion has been shown to be suboptimal in patients with PCOS. **THIS INFORMATION IS PROVIDED FOR THE USE OF PHYSICIANS AND OTHER LICENSED HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONERS ONLY.
