This week on Creative Success…

I interview my dear friend Mary Lou Kayser

I know you’ll enjoy listening as much as I did recording it.

Please be sure to knock on Mary Lou’s digital door…

As well as check out the books she recommends during our chat.

What I Ask Mary Lou Kayser on this Podcast

*Why do you do what you do?

Mary Lou drops such an outstanding answer from the heart… Wish I could make it a tweetable!

I can’t for her whole answer… But I can make a piece of it a tweetable…

I just can’t do anything but me.

This little ‘ol snit bit doesn’t do her whole answer justice…

But it does give you an idea of how badass she is…

What do you do when you’re handed the pink slip?

Mary Lou’s parents are also teachers…

Her mom taught math and her dad physics…

But she’s a writer! So, I had to ask…

Why are you so drawn to the written word?

What is your draw to American football?

And how’d you come to using it as a metaphor for telling entrepreneurial stories on your podcast?

Which is so appropriately named…

Play Your Position Podcast

How do you go from being a teacher… To being an entrepreneur?

Not everyone is suited to be an entrepreneur… Nor should everyone be an entrepreneur

How has working with a coach helped you in your business?

I don’t think you can be successful without a coach… In whatever you’re doing. It’s the new model.

If you think you can do it all by yourself… That’s a fatalistic mistake. I know because I made it.

Whatever you’re doing in your life… Personally or professionally… Find a mentor. Find a coach.

These are all quotes from Mary Lou after I asked her the above question.

As an entrepreneur, writer, and coach…

What are you doing today to make a difference in other people’s lives?

Writing and storytelling are some of the best ways to get that ball out of the red zone and into the end zone

What are some things we can do to start to drive action with our words and stories?

Mary’s answers to this question are so basic… Yet so effective.

*Side Note*

What’s proven true in my life… And everyone I interview…

Really big things happen when we’re consistently working on the basics.

Master the basics… And you’ll create new levels of achievement you’d never thought were possible.

How do we get out of the trap of feeling like we have to write the perfect sentence before moving on to the next one?

Writing is such a great tool for tapping into a higher sense of self-awareness.
