AE @ Indigo: Onur Özer

Oct. 1, 2005

On saturday, the second beamer for the side wall was still not installed when Todd and Michael arrived at Indigo. After Michael fiddled around with the connections to the two plasma screens in the barns to no avail, time had run short so we set up the second projector to project on one of the pillars and the side wall, by placing it in our booth. Cihan from Indigo was a bit distressed over the projection not being centered on the architecturally integrated screen on the side wall, but acceded to our artistic license. The solo night with Onur, who had opened the previous night for DJ HELL was sparsely attended, and he complained at the end of the night that the crowd didn't understand what he was doing, and that he was off to berlin to do a couple of successive gigs in Germany, and would be back in a couple of weeks to open for Carl Craig in Indigo on the 21st of October. Todd ran Touch using synths designed by his friend Jim Ellis for most of the evening, while Michael fiddled around with an alpha version of 3L (pronounced "thrill"), the 3D app which Pascal is writing, Using the 3D font module animating the word INDIGO, and a bit of the particle system to map onto Todd's ambient backgrounds, We were quite happy to discover a fresh new appearance to some worn-out material which we will explore more over the next weeks. Vadi, Cihan's partner at Indigo, was quite excited to see the club"s name integrated into the ambient visuals in 3D synch. One of the bartenders at the end of the night came over and was very curious about which programs we were using, so we pressed a Workshop Flyer in his hand and encouraged him to join the seminar.
