Asia's Developing Future

How landlocked Central Asia could become a post-pandemic infrastructure financing leader

March 31, 2021

Greater infrastructure development could give remote, landlocked Central Asian economies a critical boost by enhancing pandemic recovery, poverty eradication, and climate change mitigation. However, growing constraints on the use of public funds will require new financing sources to tackle the region’s substantial infrastructure investment gap. The discussion draws upon the new ADBI press book, Developing Infrastructure in Central Asia: Impacts and Financing Mechanisms.
