O2 Making Waves - The Rags

Oct. 27, 2006

Hailing from Finglas in North Dublin, The Rags have met with a blaze of critical kudos for their precocious EPs thus far. So it's a baffling wonder that they're still searching for that crucial record deal that they so crave. Especially considering, according to the boys, any spiky haired or mullet wearing pretty boy that can't even play an instrument, seems to be able to stroll into a record label and sign on the dotted line. Regardless, they face the future with optimism, convinced that their songs are simply 'too good to stay independent'. They really do have a point. With refreshingly inventive and melodious arrangements, and highly evocative lyrics combined with a lead singer that has a voice that would make your granny's knees wobble, they surely cannot remain independent for long.
