O2 Making Waves 5th Oct'07 - The Laundry Shop

Oct. 5, 2007

It's conceivable, as sad and nostalgic as it might be for them, that The Laundry Shop will one day have to move from their current rehearsal and recording space onto greener and plusher pastures. This is because, if you haven't already guessed, they've honed their sound in the cosy confines of... a laundry room. The Laundry Shop owe their musical allegiance to the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Pavement and Weezer and with the release of their debut album in the coming months they are primed to join their erstwhile rock compatriots on the airwaves. But if you think you may not have heard them before, think again. Their single 'Highs And Lows' featured on the massive Failte Ireland, Discover Ireland campaign and, because of its success, probably even contributed a little towards the future dereliction of their lovely rehearsal room. Presenter Rory Dungan caught up with front man Steven Robinson in an altogether different looking studio. Please do email any comments you may have to neither hosts nor alters podcast files.
