Yalla Home Chats with the Head Of Media Dept at the Big Heart Foundation about the SALAM BEIRUT Campaign The massive explosion which shook the Lebanese capital recently and destroyed communities, left the country in the face of countless disasters across sectors. Apart from the devastating number of casualties and injuries, initial assessments indicate that 300,000 people, including 80,000 children, have been left homeless following the disaster. The blast caused massive destruction to thousands of health care centers, schools, residences, private, and public facilities in neighborhoods across the city. In recent months Lebanon has been struggling with an overwhelmed healthcare system enduring rising numbers of Covid-19 cases, inflation, an economic crisis, food insecurity and political unrest. In support of disaster and emergency relief efforts, The Big Heart Foundation will assist in the basic rapid rehabilitation of affected houses and the distribution of safe shelter materials to affected people.
