Richmond, VA Police Officer Cheryl Nici was working an off-duty job at the Richmond Marriott, looking to make a few extra dollars on an October Friday night. Every cop in the greater Richmond area was looking for the suspect in a triple murder two days prior, and the attempted murder of a sheriff’s deputy. The wanted poster she carried in his pocket may have saved her life that night when she was ambushed by the fugitive killer and shot in the face.
