Adventures in Fly Tying with Fly Fish Ohio

Fly Fish Ohio presents the Mrs. Simpson!

April 25, 2010

Welcome to the show for April 2010. Our fly this month is from New Zealand. Named for the Duchess of Windsor, the Mrs Simpson is a "Killer" style of fly. The Killer is a pattern tied using cape or breast feathers tied parallel to the hook shank and veiling the body of the fly. The Mrs. Simpson has a reputation as a fly that fools difficult trout, but it's a good choice for bass and panfish, too! If you're ready to show the fish something different, this is a great place to start. The Mrs Simpson is a pattern illustrative of a style of tying that's seldom used in North America. If you fish this fly, you'll wonder why you haven't seen it before. It really is a killer! If you'd like to see this video in high-definition, please join us at www.flyfishohio.com where you can download all our new patterns in 720p!
