The Phillies Are Making Strides! (PST Show #268)

July 6, 2018

When we looked at the Phillies before the start of the 2018 season, we all had a certain level of expectation for this young group of players. Now, they are currently 2nd in the NL East and we, as fans, are watching a very interesting season. These Phillies are making strides! To talk more about it this week, we brought onboard James Seltzer (@JamesSeltzer) from 94.1WIP, BGN Radio and the High Hopes podcast. We'll talk about the promise and outlook this Phillies team has here in July.
But first, on the Brief News & Views segment:
1. It's been a busy Sixers offseason with trades and deals. (4:10)
2. Will college athletes get endorsement deals in the future? (17:55)
3. The Flyers interesting offseason and acquisitions. (26:45)
Then we get into our Up or Down segment where we briefly analyze Philly sports figures to determine if their needle is moving up or down. (35:55)
What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an in-depth interview and discussion with our good friend of the show, James Seltzer. First, we get into what this team will need to improve upon to potentially make the 2018 MLB Playoffs. We also get into pitching this week and why Jake Arrieta is struggling on the mound. Where does Aaron Nola rank in the NL and can this Phillies bullpen actually be putting it together? We also discussed what Matt Klentak may do before the upcoming trade deadline as well as Gabe Kaplers rookie season as the Phils skipper. It's a fantastic interview you won't want to miss! (42:45)
