Larry grew up in North Carolina. He & his wife Carrie, moved to Springfield, VA in 1989. From 1989 to his passing, he faithfully served as the Chairman of the Deacon/Deaconess Ministry at Antioch Baptist Church in Fairfax Station, VA where he was the hub of caring for members. As an Army veteran, he had over 21 years of honorable service in the Air Defense Artillery Branch, with Vietnam tour 1971-72. Larry taught mathematics in Fairfax County Public Schools. He was also a well-known & highly regarded entrepreneur, selling sports memorabilia through his ShortStop Baseball Card Shop at the Springfield & Potomac Mills Malls between 1991 & 2011. Larry epitomized both a visionary leader, and a nuts & bolts man. He loved the Lord, his family, & touched all who crossed his path. His character, care for others and his courageous walks through life challenges were witnessed by many and left many inspired!
