Impressed by the faithfulness of the Thessalonians in the face of persecution, Paul wrote to encourage the Christians in that community with the goal that they would continue to grow in godliness and be motivated by their hope in the ultimate return of Jesus Christ. As we go through a life full of questions and uncertainties, Paul offers the hope of Christ’s return as an answer that provides us with comfort in the midst of questions and reminds us of the joy that is to come. Jesus is the source of our true hope. Without him, it’s Hopeless.
