For the many years I have listened to ‘Whatever It Takes’ I have found this podcast consistently positive, inspiring, offering a lesson in life how to improve, learn and grow! Love the variety it offers!
Amazing opportunity to bring brilliance into my home, I absolutely LOVE this podcast and find myself listening to pieces over and over again, savoring pearls of wisdom. What a find and gift!
Liberals sold out to the left are no longer liberals, they are liars who deceive themselves. Propagandists of the institutional and systemic rot that controls our corrupted unelected three letter agencies
Easily my favorite podcast with excellent narration and production. But the most important element is the quality of the subjects. By way of example, the interviews with Quincy Jones and Buddy Guy highlighted a determined anger to their experience of racial discrimination and not a trace of victimhood. Similarly the Sal Kahn interview offered the kind of insights not present in podcasts that are merely entertaining.
This is the podcast I go to when I want to escape thinking about the current news, the political frights, the pandemic, thoughts of the homeless, the plight of immigrants, the scariest parts of life. This podcast does go to those places in the stories of the great artists covered in each of these pieces. The difference is I know I’ll find intrigue and inspiration instead of fear and frustration.
Alice Winkler has the best podcast, from Judy Collins to Trevor Nunn I find her podcasts very inspiriting, informative and I only wish there were more. Great job!!!!
I’m trying to figure out what to say after listening to these Ladies talk, and I’m so moved, so inspired, so hopefully that the only thing I can say is “ WOW!” Thank you thank you
These Podcasts crumbles the walls of fame of notable people to their truly human side. The lessons learned can teach lessons for all ages.
I want our son to listen to these!
Personal, thoughtful and honest insight.
The voice of the interviewer is as comforting as a morning cup of coffee and allows these people to feel at ease.
Especially loved Hank Aaron’s talk!
In these difficult COVID days, I look for inspiration. And this Alice Winkler is wonderful! This podcast is that for me.
The interviews are honest and heartfelt. If there were 10 stars+, I’d gladly give your the most.
Thank you,
Elaine Cole

In these uncertain times, I find inspiration and hope listening to this podcast. I want to remember and enjoy listening to these exceptional guests in their voice who have made our world a better place.
Listening to President Jimmy Carter tell his story is a powerful inspiration to someone who grew up in a rural community.
Privileged to have meet him in person and forward this podcast will remind in my memory.
Love love it. Love her voice, the way she manages to each time and no matter whether you know the guest or not, whatever the topic, you get instantly hooked. Can’t miss it.
Excellent listening for when you need a bit of a boost to keep you going. It is inspirational to hear stories from people who forged their own successful future out of some of the most difficult and unlikely situations. The interviews are very well put together and gets right to the core of what it takes to overcome the hardships of life, and where the interviewees minds were when they had a breakthrough.
The foundation credited with making what it takes possible is named after/run by a white collar criminal.... A woman who benefited from giving students loans with criminally high interest rates. How they can make this podcast backed by a foundation with a “steal from the poor” philosophy, I do not know. It’s the antithesis of the mentality of the individuals they’re highlighting.
I’m an obsessive listener of podcasts, and I think I can fairly say this one is my favorite. Meticulously told and inspiring, each episode is a treat. Listen for yourself!
I am a twelve year old boy from Maryland. I listen to What It Takes almost every night. My favorite episode is Chuck Jones. Robert Langer made me interested in engineering. Some are favorites are Frank McCourt, Jane Goodall, George Lucas, and Carol Burnett. I recommend the whole series!
More more more! I can't say enough positive things about this podcast. In this divisive time, it has given me renewed hope for our country. Real people with real struggles that preserver through tough times to be successful strong leaders. Keep it up! How about Morgan Freeman? That'd be interesting ...
