Help Me Teach The Bible

Reviews For Help Me Teach The Bible

I only “teach” to infants and toddlers along with my own kids but find this my favorite source for understanding whole books of the Bible.
I’ve used this podcast as book research, company while painting, and spiritual edification. It does an incredible job meeting all of these needs and teaching me things I didn’t know I needed to know
We are listening this upcoming year with our new study Kingdom Divided. So please please help us teach Gods word! Thank you for all you’ve given us already.
I really enjoyed listening to Dave interview Nancy today! (They are the most authentic people you will ever know.) Love you Nancy!!!
This is one of my all-time favorite bible resources! So incredibly helpful! Thank you, Nancy Guthrie and guests - you have helped me to treasure God’s Word!!
These podcasts are and have been the most helpful resource I have found for preparing to lead or attend a Bible Study! I recommend them to all who love the Word of God!
These podcasts are so rich and helpful for every lay person trying to know God’s Word better. You don’t have to be teaching to need or enjoy them. However, as a teacher for adult Bible study, I recently listened (several times) to the episode on Ezekiel before trying to share with my class. It was incredibly insightful and gave me such needed clarity. Thank you so much for offering this. Persevere.
Thank you, Nancy, for this awesome resource on every book of the Bible! I have listened to each episode, some more than once and they have all enriched my personal time in the Word. Nancy’s interview skills are excellent and she always has a good rapport with her guests. This is a resource designed for Bible teachers, but it will prove useful for anyone who loves to study the Word.
More people & podcasts are talking these days about the things Jesus taught (in the 4 gospels), but there are a few of his teachings that almost never get serious coverage. Several references (EXCLUDING the “rich young ruler”) are made in Luke about selling all of one’s possessions & giving to the poor and then this teaching is shown to be taken seriously by the time we get to the book of Acts (end of chapters 2 & 4). Another powerful & often neglected paradigm-changing (IF taken at face value) teaching of Jesus is found in Mt. 6:24; Lk. 16:13-14). This has been called the “Two Masters teaching”, one being God/Love and the other/opposite one being money. What would Christianity look like, both inside its confines and to the world at large, if these teachings were given much more serious consideration and application? Take a leap of faith and dive deep into these teachings! ✌🏼
This podcast is for anyone who wants to seriously engage with the Bible. Nancy has great interviewing skills and gets access to many fantastic teachers. Christopher Ash and Mark Futado are two favorites that I would not have found without her. I have learned so much from this podcast! Two things lacking: the rich field of female teachers is largely untapped (although the few women who are included are excellent) and the disparity of sound levels between the two microphones ruins several of the interviews.
Whether you lead a Bible study or simply love the Bible—this book will help you dig deeper in the Word, shine light on the meaning of the message, and help you to fulfill the Great Commission. It is excellent for budding and experienced Bible teachers alike.
This podcast is just so good and helpful and rich with resources. Thank you Nancy for showing women how to be faithful to the word and how we should handle it well.
Nancy’s episodes are enjoyable to listen to and, more importantly, are a reliable source of Biblical truth and encouragement. I highly recommend the Help Me Teach the Bible podcast!
I found the august fifth discussion on the sin of racism to be so helpful. It was very comprehensive. I was thankful to hear from teachers from some of the great city’s of the United States breaking it down, and even giving guidance on how to see these issues and move forward from a solid platform. I shared it with my pastor and some of my friends. Thanks again
She has a Powerful Testimony look her up
I always benefit from the guests on this podcast. However, I struggle to listen due to the sound engineering. The guests typically sound as though they are at some distance from the mic while Nancy is right at the mic. It’s a constant adjustment with the sound, with moments of near silence, to moments of near ear piercing blasts. It would be greatly appreciated if sound engineering could be applied to provide a more balanced mix. Keep the teaching going.
This is so great to have a list of teachers who are rightly handling God’s Word. I am so careful who I listen to and this has been such a helpful resource and God has used this Podcast to revive my heart for His Word. I found this podcast through a workshop of Nancy’s that I attended a few weeks ago, and I literally can not stop listening. I am learning so much especially in regards to the Old Testament and Bible themes!!! Thanks Nancy! Last year I read the whole Bible and I just could not connect it in my mind but when you gave an overview of the whole Bible at your workshop it just clicked! So excited to read the Bible again through these fresh eyes revived by the Holy Spirit!
This is a favorite of mine. Every episode beckons me to feast on God’s word. I’m not a Bible teacher but I do study it and these interviews have helped me understand books of the Bible better. It’s also helped me as a Christian writer. Well done Nancy, all the guests, and TGC!
Dr. Rebecca MacLaughlin is a powerful voice for Kingdom dwellers. She provides articulate and winsome apologetics for the people of God in the post modern western church. Thank you for this excellent podcast. To God be the glory 🙏🏽
Nancy Guthrie is a phenomenal interviewer, genuinely curious and humble. Whatever the topic, the insights she and her guests bring to the text not only provide great tips for teaching, but also promote the listeners’ worship of the God who provided the Word. The breadth of international guests provides an augmented understanding of the truly global expanse God’s work.
Has been a rich time learning about the Bible through this program but also know other Gospel centers teachers . Thank you 🙏🏻
I always enjoy listening to Nancy and her guest. I never walk away without feeling encouraged and challenged to teach well and handle the Scripture correctly! This podcast ranks in my top 10 favorites!
As a stay-at-home mom, this podcast has greatly enriched my understanding of the Bible and how best to communicate God’s word to my children. Thankful for Nancy Guthrie’s ministry and the thoughtful, Gospel-centered discussion she has with each guest.
Thanks so much I’m not a teacher but my heart is being pulled towards it. This podcast has given me belief in that I can.
I am not in a teaching/leading position but this podcast has taught me so much. Especially about major themes of the Bible and how the whole Bible is interconnected and all points to Christ.
I disagree with Nike Noodle's review. Nancy does a great job. Keep it up Nancy! Thanks for keeping it focused around a particular topic that the guest is most knowledgeable about. My favorite kind of podcast. Thanks for your faithfulness!
I came to this podcast thinking I’d learn MORE than what knowledge God has already given me by studying, researching & praying over my theories. But Nancy makes it seem that she either doesn’t know the basics, or she thinks those in charge of guiding the Church doesn’t have a clue about the basics. And I’m praying it’s just Nancy. I give it 4 stars bc MOST of the guests she has on here knows their Bible & is the light to her & others to help them find their way. But not all should be a light...a guide to Christ Followers; I believe that God will give the knowledge needed to those who were truly called. If it comes difficult, then maybe you need to take a step back for the sake of others being taught. OR, maybe Nancy can allow the guests to freely teach the whole Book in a solid food type of way, because I’m no longer an infant in Christ, hopefully others reading this are past infant stage also & feel Nancy’s way of guiding the guest is basic infant food.
with hearts burning within as the scripture is opened! thank you!!
This is a Gospel Coalition podcast, hosted by Nancy Guthrie. I’ve only just recently started listening to this podcast, but it has been helpful in Bible study preparation. There have been many ideas and lessons that have been tucked away for future studies and lessons as well. Even if one is not a teacher, this podcast teaches much about the Bible and is therefore helpful in growing in biblical knowledge.
I have learned so much and picked up so many helpful habits from the guests on this podcast. Thank you!
This podcast has been a source of encouragement and true inspiration for me. At times I feel weary of the hard work it takes to faithfully teach God’s Word. I never fail to hear something in each episode that reminds me of why this is the right thing to be doing and not to grow weary. The resources, training and wisdom shared is uniquely personal because of the conversational format. Keep up the great work!!
I’m a Bible teacher and look forward to each podcast posted. I review the past ones and find gems of facts, ways to prepare, details regarding how to teach, and how to live out the scriptures. Enjoy this podcast!
Well thought out questions toward some of the most solid biblical minded thinkers and engagers of our day. Appreciate hearing their perspective, experience and listening for citation of their own "spiritual formation name-dropping" -has expanded my resource base. And given practical handles for my own teaching. Teaching mentors accessed at my leisure. Have recommended to others as well.
This is a great resource. Powerful sermons. God glorifying. Thank God for this platform.
One of my favorite podcasts. Keep them coming!
This podcast is ideal for lay teachers who are looking for tools to sharpen their teaching skills. It's also very encouraging to hear from seasoned teachers, pastors, and professors about the blessings and challenges of teaching God's Word. I highly recommend this podcast.
This makes me more fervent in my passion to teach the Bible and empower other women to teach it as well. Love the perspective and commentary! So practical and helpful for each book and scenario!
What a helpful resource! I'm thankful for the opportunity to learn from the gifted teachers here. Nancy is an engaging host, and asks thoughtful questions. Well done!!
I have been listening to this podcast since the beginning and am so happy every 2 weeks when a new one comes out. Nancy has travelled to meet with pastors and scholars who really want to help God's people faithfully study and teach God's precious Word. I am so thankful to Nancy and Crossway for this podcast. It has truly helped me tremendously. Keep them coming.
I recently started teaching a Sunday school class at my church. I have a Bible humanities degree which has been a fabulous foundation, but these interviews and podcasts have been a tremendous help to me in my further study and as I think about how to be an effective Bible teacher. Nancy is a great interviewer who keeps her listener (Bible teachers) in mind!
Wonderful interviews from gifted practitioners. These interviews give quick, concise overviews of a Bible book. They have become an essential part of my preparation in teaching the Bible to women.
As a preacher and teacher of the Scriptures, this is one of the most useful podcasts I listen to. Nancy and her guests are humble and absolutely love God's Word. And they're always Christ-centered.
This podcast has enriched my drive time immensely. Nancy Guthrie is a charming and insightful interviewer, and she is drawing out great insights from some serious scholars and preachers. Very helpful.
So it is super encouraging to hear her interview her favorite Bible teachers. My church ladies group has been through all of Nancy's Bible studies and would highly recommend them. This podcast series is like the behind the scenes work into the study of God's word, the planning of time and questions, the helpful resources. It is a study for those who don't just love the word of God for themselves but who want to give it out, to teach it! And not just in a group setting. I have found the content helpful for one-on-one conversations with friends and for my own personal Bible study. The David Helm podcast on Daniel is my favorite!
"Help me teach the Bible" has been so encouraging to my faith and very helpful in preparation for study and teaching. I get SO excited each time a new pocast is released! It's a privelege to listen in on the conversations that Nancy has with her various guests. The episodes are engaging and instructive and create a deeper love for the truths of God's Word.
This is probably the most practical podcast that I listen to. You can easily apply something from each episode to the way you teach certain parts of the Bible. Not only is it practical, but Nancy Guthrie is a captivating interviewer and has great chemistry with each person she's interviewing. It's truly a joy to listen in on her conversations!
So thankful for nancy and her love for the word. Love that these interviews give a better understanding of books of the bible and walk through together how to teach exegetically.
Nancy Guthrie, and other scholar/pastor guests, explain whole books (i.e., Isaiah, Revelation, Mark, etc.) or major themes of the Bible ( i.e., suffering, teaching, Joseph story) with the goal of assisting other pastors, Sunday School teachers, and small group leaders in their Bible teaching ministries. The sessions are about an hour in length and the instructors focus on major themes in each Bible book. I have taught the Bible for many years now, but I have found that each and every episode contains insights that help me in knowing my Bible better. If you are just starting out listening to these interviews, I suggest beginning with Beale on the Book of Revelation, Doriani on James, Ash on Job, and/or Helm on Daniel. It will be time well spent.
This Podcast is great! Helpful advice from practicing pastors and theologians.
