Could you please make sure spell both the words on daily basis. We listen to this podcast while cycling and sometimes we might not catch the spelling immediately and it helps if you could spell each word along with the explanation. Thank you for your effort in bringing such a nice pod cast.
I have been listening since 2009.Glad Jan is back! He inspired to expand my vocabulary and it has added greatly to my enjoyment of reading and increased my ability to express myself in my writing and teaching.
Just Vocabulary is a much-needed English vocab tool for everyday conversations. There are plenty of programs for SAT/GRE prep, but this one focuses on words we use and hear everyday. I'm a native English speaker and the vocab tips inspire me in many ways, from personal conversations to poetry and prose.
As a native English speaker, I love to listen to Jan’s show. It’s concise and to the point, but he still manages to cover the important details. One example of this is that he often expounds on the nuances of synonym relationships which makes it easier to put new words to use without worrying that they are being used incorrectly or imprecisely. I’m listening as part of my GRE study plan and also just because I think it is a healthy habit for continual self improvement.
It's a podcast
i like this podcast's eposides, and it's good for esl.
I realize it's free, but this podcast has a few too many ads for my liking.
This helped me a lot with expanding my vocabulary. I really like the repetition & the example sentences. Plus, the host and the podcasts are quite entertaining. It even has a review of previous words in the end.

I love the details on every word you share with us!
Amazing Thank you for everything
This is a well-done podcast. The stories & sentences really help remember words. Also, knowing the part of speech is very important for GRE prep. Great job! Just downloaded the "Power Hours" from the website!
Thank you so much for doing this! It is amazing!

Who could complain about good, wholesome, FREE education
I likey! They even come up with clever, relevant word-associations so one may actually use what they learn on a daily basis! Very good app-I like his voice! Thank you
I'm behind in my podcast listening so I had only been listening to Just Vocabulary's first 100 episodes. What a shock it was when I randomly selected episode 453 and heard the "new" format of the show. A loud annoying commercial in the beginning, another ad in the middle, and another at the end! Additionally, Jal's voice and the vocabulary words are computerized; so gone is that nice personal touch. This so called "Free" podcast is no longer free is it? … because with all these commercials we are paying, and dearly. It seems like there's more commercials than vocab here. Another thing, is somehow iTunes has reached into my podcast library and deleted about 300 episodes. Does anyone know how this happens; I have it set to save all podcasts, no auto deletes. Jal, no offense but it seems like you took a great podcast (spirit of commercial free home grown) and over capitalized on it … taking it from pleasing to bummer on the scale of listener enjoyment. Thanks for the old shows, no thanks for the outrageously commercialized format.

This pod cast Is amazing for people looking to expand their vocabulary. it's great to study for test like ssat sat and isee etc. :)
English is my native language and I still don't feel like I have a firm grasp on the rules of grammar and I'm always on the look out for ways to expand my vocabulary. I'm glad there's a podcast to help me reach that goal. And it's free!
How wondefull this is!
Stressed out of your mind studying?Take a break from reading and just listen. You'll be amazed at how you will remember these GRE words. I listen to and from work every day and even as I walk around campus.
I am American and I find this podcast very useful to expand my vocabulary.
An excellent study tool for anybody who wishes to increase his/her vocabulary. The sample sentences provided is a better learning aide than merely using flash cards.

This is a great idea. I like to listen this podcast at least twice a day when I'm on my way to work or home. I'm going to take my GRE exam soon and these podcasts are helpful. I have also a GRE book which contains the same words. Congratulations!

Go to #6 and listen to how they pronounce "precedent." I know it can be said both ways but if you're only going to teach one... use the most commonly used one.
I like this show because it helps me learn new words, but I prefer the weekly recaps to individual episodes for just 2 words. Bring back the weekly recaps por favor!

It's very useful on me~Good podcast!!
As a grad student, this program really prepared me for the GRE exam I took a couple of years ago. As an English teacher, my students use this as a warm up everyday. Keep those words coming.
Love it! My first language is Russian and in my culture being able to speak correcly using rich vocabulary is important! This podcast helps to improve this ability while i am walking my dogs twice a day!
Love the host and love the format. I only wish there was a more advanced version as I know too many of the words and end up skipping quite a few of the episodes. Even with that it is still a great podcast and worth the subscription.

Jan has Great style! The best part is it's not too slick. Just the right length. Great way to learn.
This podcast was perfect for my GRE prep. Succinct and effective, the Just Vocabulary episodes are prefect for busy people who need to fit studying into a hectic schedule. The definitions are informational, the example sentences are useful, and the host is quite aimiable. Overall a great podcast.
How to download the show I missed before 2008?
This is very good for extending vocabulary knowledge and use of words. I love this program!
This podcast was so boring. I kept on thinking, "Ok, sooner or later it will get funny or have a joke." It was like they were trying to make the english language the most boring thing on the planet! Also about 40 seconds into I was thinking, "Shoot me now." I'm not very good at studying and I hoped this would help me. But it would not help me, it would put me to sleep. They should try putting the words into funny sentences, then people would have a more easy time remembering the meanings. Or try getting someone with a more beautiful voice to do the talking, it sounded like my old high school teachers talking. The ones that would stay on the same tone. Also but in a funny joke or fact about the word. Like "This word was used mostly by a famous stupid sailer". But keep it funny not corny. Keep it simple.
Just as I said in the title, it was useful and easy to learn vocabulary
This has an easy-to-listen-to quality that I love. Good to unwind to...in a vocab geek sort of way.
informative and great pace
This is a very good Podcast for SAT learners. I learn it in prep books and listen to it on here, and it helps to stick it. Recommended for college-bound students!
Well planned - quick but just what you need! I listen to 2 at a time in the morning and at night - what a great tool!

This podcast is the No. 1 in learning useful English words, I really enjoy listening to it on a daily basis. To me, it works well.
I love the format and the word choices. I use this with middle school English speakers, and it has been very effective in expanding their vocabulary and improving their word choices. However, it seems to have disappeared as of late. We miss you, the words, and the gong sound. Will you be back?
I am not a native english speaker. Always felt low in confidence when i would look for the right work to convey ideas. This podcast really helps me... Do not know why it has stopped. Please continue the service. I am ready to donate if need be
