wonderful is a reliable comfort, a bastion of simple calm and simple kindness and positivity in a digital world of crisis, anxiety, and intensity. when i feel like my brain can’t remember what goodness is, i can rely on wonderful to bring me back to a place of regulation and joy. thank you rachel and griffin 💕
This podcast is such delightful listening when I want something I know will be positive. Rachel and Griffin have a lovely rapport. So many of their favorite things are universally lovable, but even when they cover something more niche, their enthusiasm and brief dive into its history make this an enjoyable listen.
This is one of my favorite shows to put on after dinner while I’m cleaning up the kitchen. Such a soothing and loving pair of people I would listen to them talk about anything. The Poetry Corner is one of my surprise favorite segments of the show. Give this one a listen and be a little bit happier every time.
you guys. got me through the toughest year of my life. i recommend you to everyone! thanks for reminding me of the good in the world and feeding my natural desire to learn. love you and am thankful for you :')
I genuinely laugh out loud at least twice an episode. Rachel and griffin create a podcast where you truly feel like you’re in the room just hanging out with them.
The relationship between these two brings me so much peace and comfort. I save their podcast for my morning drive at the beginning of my work week to ease me into my day with love and laughter.
It’s good for 10 year olds and up to learn things like how I learn things it’s heartwarming and Griffin McElroy I listen to most of his stuff so it’s right with Rachel too but I love the brothers and you should love them too
This podcast has such warm energy and feels like getting a hug from your favorite aunt and uncle. It helps me to slow down and enjoy the little things.
The only negative review I have seen for this show claims that their happiness comes from a place of privilege. I would like to respectfully but strongly disagree. Rachel and Griffin are very aware of their privilege and often acknowledge it. Their joyfullness is an attempt to create a safe and happy space for their listeners. We cannot and should not dwell only on the negative things, because this only leads to hopelessness.
Thank you McElroys, your work gives me something to look forward to in a world that often feels all too bleak.
I love and adore Wonderful so much. I love getting the chance to learn more about topics I normally would have never looked into, hear new poems, and get some really good music recs all in one place. Full of goofs and sweet romantic gestures, would recomend.
Two ignorant hosts say what’s “good” from their white privileged not needing to really work throne. So if you want to hear that French fries are good I’m theses times the go for it. But they are just doing nothing.
Was recently in a rough headspace and Griffin and Rachel’s deliberate delight with facets of the world and their humor with each other had me ending the latest episode laughing. Love this show!
Love to listen to Wonderful! whenever I’m out driving/commuting. Plain Cheerios are not my favorite unless mixed with Honey Nut Cheerios or doused with some sugar. Was the big circle cereal Crackling Oat Bran? That stuff is delicious! Love to eat it plain as an easy snack food. Again, love your show and glad to listen to something fun, happy, and positive while I’m driving.
The cereal Griffin was thinking about in episode 221 is called Ohs!, they are are a very nostalgic cereal for me as well. This is the crux of why this show is worth listening to: not only do you learn, you re-learn/ re-discover things for your past.
This show is like waking up under a warm weighted blanket to a gentle day of having no plans. It’s lovely. Rachel and Griffin are absolutely darling. The way they speak to each other is 5 stars by itself. Thank you for the enthusiasm. Keep up the good work you two.
Rachel and Griff, wow where to start? Wonderful is nothing short of the name. It’s been such a traumatic few years, and hearing about how great maple syrup is, or talking about the mechanics of the great cheese pull, from small wonders to blumber plums, this is the show if you need to get that serotonin flowing! When you listen to the McElroys, you don’t feel so alone!
Listen to wonderful, it will help (And also see your physician)
Wonderful! is such a joy to listen to. It makes me feel like a small child again- when feeling enthusiasm for things without cynicism was so welcome and joyous. Griffin and Rachel are so lovely to listen to together. I love this show and the space it creates for finding excitement in the every day.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this show and the both of you together. However, I think it would be really awesome if Rachel had her own podcast to talk about whatever; momming, poetry, funny things her kids and Griffin do behind the scenes… I just love her voice! <3 TripletsMom
I just love this podcast because it’s so positive and comes out of Wednesdays to cure my midweek blues. I had a class last year in grad school on Wednesday afternoons that sucked out my soul and it always made me so happy to listen to Wonderful on my way home. Thanks guys
This show has been a rock for me. No matter how bad life can be it always offers me a chance to return to the practice of fostering an appreciation for all the good in the world, big and small. And all the love Rachel and Griffin bring to the show and show toward one another is healing.
Yo amazing show!! Honestly I was expecting more sappiness but these two are genuine and funny and have great suggestions and insights. I’d love to see a live show. Be brave and hit that upside down coaster! Six stars!!!
This podcast is great for putting you in a good mood and making you happy. Griffin is always a joy to listen to, and Rachel shines with delightful charm as co-host! I love getting to hear all the big and small things that bring these adorable wife and husband happiness. Great to listen to when you're feeling down, or as a chaser to a more 'intense' sort of podcast. And you're sure to hear about something neat you'll want to check out for yourself!
Thanks for all the good vibes, Wonderful!
If you’re looking for the opposite of stress, you’ve found it. I have listened to so many episodes in just a few days, and I am smitten. This is the most wholesome podcast to which I subscribe. I love it so much.
There is something particularly sweet and joyful about listening to two people very in love with each other talk about the things that they love.
My partner and I started listening to this during the pandemic, and it quickly became a staple of our evenings while we cook or play video games. We already loved the McElroys, but there is something particular to the Griffin & Rachel brand of humor that is just so… wonderful!
It’s very punk rock of them to do a show that is so relentlessly positive :0)
Why not just enjoy nice things? Like Rachel’s Poetry Corner, random music suggestions, and, recently, short breaks between a baby crying. Practicing gratitude is the key to a healthy life so stave off death by enjoying this show.
I wrote a really touching review but I hope you saw that one the first time because right now i need to express my joy at how gleefully you describe your baby’s giant head. im going to call my 1yo cousin a baseball man now
