I mostly listen on YouTube but occasionally catch him on Apple podcast… Matt George never disappoints. He brings the energy. Most importantly he brings the truth about our team. The good, the bad and the ugly. We don’t need another fluff announcer/podcaster (I’m looking at you yellow and blue Bay Area team) in the industry. Matt is a true Kings fan that also operates locally on a news station. He tells you when the Kings do something great and is honest when they stink it up. I’ve watched other Locked On podcasts and Matt is floating on top like cream. Glad to have him doing our podcasts.
He’s not a straight up homer for the kings he will call out what he thinks is wrong which I like. His reporting style is real and speaks his mind freely. Love what you’re doing Matt! Keep it up and thank you for doing this podcast!
I’ve listened to a few different Sacramento Kings podcast, and so far the locked on Kings podcast is the only one I continue to listen to. Matt has great energy, insight and opinions. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone who likes basketball and the Sacramento Kings.
I’ve been a loyal listener of Locked On Kings since Matt George took over a few years ago. I appreciate that there are new episodes consistently after every game. Matt’s breakdowns and analysis are thoughtful, honest, and respectful. His passion for the team comes through, but he doesn’t let that skew his takes into cringe homerism. Locked On Kings is one of two Kings podcasts I listen to regularly while working out, going for a run or walking the dog. It’s great to see the Kings content producers who were in the trenches through the lean years (including during the pandemic) getting an opportunity to cover the team during the current renaissance.
Matt George is a Kings fan like the rest of us. He knows the team and he brings on guests who know the team to discuss hot topics. A fun listen to get the scoop on the Sacramento Kings all year long.
You will not find a better daily podcast that blends expert knowledge, passion for the Kings, and a fun way to spend a half-hour or so. Matt George is down-to-earth, relatable, and conveys extensive basketball knowledge. And HE LOVES THE KINGS! For a die-hard Kings fan, this podcast feels like coming home.
As someone who got into basketball relatively recently, I’ve appreciated this podcast. They do a great job of explaining complex ideas in a digestible way. Great for veterans and newbies alike. I highly recommend. Light The Beam!!!
I appreciate Matt’s effort, putting out content, but I don’t understand how he doesn’t get fans being upset with moves. It’s ok to question the Kings and be upset initially since the organization has been trash until last year.
Too much blind shilling from Matt. Always has been. Even when fans were rightfully angry. How about being objective and not getting angry/emotional when fans call out the team.
I want to listen for Kings info but I can’t. Same one sided, illogical positive spin about most things.
This podcast is cool to keep up with some things about the kings, but this podcast and really all the locked on podcasts have way too many ads/fillers. The first and final ~4 min (give or take) is same into and ads and you can count on another 4-6 minutes of ads in between. Kind of ridiculous for a roughly 30 minute podcast, again give or take on podcast length. Similar to a 30 minute television show you can count on 20 minutes of show and 10 minutes of commercials, 33% ads is far too much for me to listen consistently.
Matt is an incredible host!! I’m a warriors fan but I listened during the series (not to troll but to get his analysis). I also really respected that even if he was wrong in some of his analysis (which everyone is sometimes) he wasn’t defensive and owned up to it and said he was wrong!!! Gives great analysis and you can tell he loves the kings but that doesn’t prevent him from being honest! Great podcast — I’ll keep listening next season to keep up on the kings!
Listening back to this Pod is incredibly satisfying as a warriors fan. Seeing the supreme confidence slowly turn into denial and now anger has been a wonderful meltdown to listen to. Hey if the Kings win the series y’all can make fun of this comment all y'all want, that’s just the way these things go, either way great pod, 5 stars.

Matt George brings raw emotion and passion that encapsulates the grittiness and loyalty of the Kings fanbase to this podcast. It feels good to know that the entire city loves this Kings team and you can actually hear this in Matt George’s voice as he says the things that need to be said and delivers insightful post-game analysis and team information.

Being in the media scrum and producing both podcast and tv content on the kings such a consistent rate is just making the insight better entirely. This mixed with the genuine life long fan perspective, gives a balanced perspective on what kind of basketball we should be seeing. There is very little extra on this podcast besides Kings basketball and it’a a nice, relatively quick listen for the drive home. The Locked On network also gives unique insight into the he fandoms of other teams around the league with crossover episodes that become some of the most compelling listens during a basketball season. If the Kings could only just bottle up the momentum of this podcast we’d be in for a great season.
Matt does a fantastic job of keeping the both the casual and diehard Sacramento fans engaged throughout the year! His optimism and insight make every podcast a must listen, especially for fans like me who don’t live in the area. Matt lives and breathes passion for Kings basketball, and there is no one better to keep you in the know on the happenings of the organization, as well as bringing in timely guests! I came upon this podcast about one year ago on accident when listening to the kings beat with James Ham. Matt George provides a great synopsis of the organization and team as a whole. He keeps me entertained when the kings fail to provide a winning team. This is my daily listen when on runs or walks outside. Thanks George for the dedication you provide.
I watch almost every upload to Matt’s Locked On Kings youtube channel because I really enjoy his commentary. This carries over to the podcast as well, so it’s definitely worth a listen.

I’ve been listening to Matt George on locked on kings for almost 3 years and have been thoroughly entertained as well as kept up to date on everything with the Kings. I’m grateful that though this organization is more often than not a disaster, locked on kings has been an extremely fun part of that ride.
Matt George is amazing and completely embodies all of kings fans. The pod has great guests and always perfect Insight. Not always easy being a kings fan but this pod gives you something to look forward to.

Best podcast to listen to for Sacramento kings. Honest takes are the best and Matt George blesses us with guests that provide their insight as well. When I can’t catch up with what’s going on with my favorite team I just listen to the podcast and I am all caught up. Although the kings Are not having a great start to the decade this podcast makes me forget about it and just brings entertainment.
I listen to them all and Matt and co have the most in depth coverage and analysis of the Sacramento Kings. Always have great guests and fascinating topics.
