Tried to listen objectively— when they said they didn’t know if Taylor swift wrote her own music... ? Stated that she bowed down to corporate... on an album her label didn’t know about until hours before she announced? Their opinions are stated as a fact without acknowledging the bridging state of music and how it speaks to different people. 30 minutes into the podcast and they have listed all of their “here’s my issue” and their issues with an occasional “she does this well” but it’s all in response to a thinly veiled insult to the album. The way they belittle her as an artist— and don’t listen to songs BECAUSE it was solely written by her... state she probably curses at concierges and drives Lamborghini? As if all rich women are real housewives? idk I don’t think it’s on purpose but it feels like there is some engrained misogyny. They had some fair points musically— but they are those guys who have an “indie record much cooler” than hers.
I had to stop in the middle of the podcast so I don’t know if you end up getting it right later but he is not talking to Sam when he says he was waiting for a old friend... He was talking about the last person to get to Winterfell later that night... That being said I am enjoying the podcast and I plan on going back to some of my favorite episodes and seeing what you all had to say about those shows... I like doing things like that because you never know it, but you can always learn something new or you all might have thoughts about it that I might not have thought about it that way until it was brought to my attention keep up the great work!!!
I don't even listen to podcast on Apple Podcast. I use Pocket Casts, but I came over to give this review. Because these guys are incredible! The sound quality is better than most professional podcast! The content is not the same repetitive noise as other places! They really care about what they talk about and they care about their followers. I'm more into music than I've been! And I always love the movie content!
Two fine fellas who know more than they should about pop culture break down art and talk about nothing on this fabulous podcast. They both hold their own apart from each other but the magic happens when Ryan (George costanza) and Jaye (Obama ) discuss life, love, and neurosis. Love this podcast.
I've been listening to Sight & Sound for a little over a year now and look forward to their latest takes on what's hot in Music/Movies/TV and the general pop-culture zeitgeist. Both have a long podcasting history (I found this through other works of Ryan) and the experience shows. If you want to spend hours with friends, then listen. If you're just interested in what's going on currently then still listen, they have something for everyone!
This is a fantastic podcast. If you want to keep up with movies, TV, and music this is the only place to go. You get great takes on movies and TV, but Jaye is a music Guru. I get amazing music suggestions from him every week now. Ryan and Jaye are two of the best podcasters around and their chemistry is off the charts.
Subscribe to this podcast immediately, you won’t regret it!
Aside from the great chemistry, Ryan and Jaye always provide insightful, in-depth, and meaningful conversation on all things music, TV, and movies in both pop culture and programming from Collider. Every new episode is a joy, and I'm proud to be one of their supporters, so please give them a listen!
These guys, Jaye and Ryan, are two dedicated and true fans of everything they talk about. They have a great rapport, truly entertaining. They pretty much cover anything you'd want to hear that has to do with sight or sound.
I don't have much to say other than I love this Podcast! These guys always provide great quality content, making for an all around entertaining and fun listening experience.
I am a Schmovillian who was listing to the Schmoville After Show on the Schmoes Know station. I decided to give them a listen to them because they cover more than movies and music. You will get a clear understanding how passionate Jaye is with Music or Snelling is with Movies and TV. You also get a clear understanging their taste in movies, music, tv.
I've listened to Ryan the last few months on the Schmoes podcast and what a great breath of insight and fresh air that he brings to this podcast. Great discussions, deep thoughts make Sight and sound an instant classic. Another podcast added to the list.
I thoroughly enjoyed Ryan and Jaye having fresh takes on this genre. Unlike most media that is about media, the discussion doesn't assume prior knowledge. It is a good listen no matter how in the know one is about modern music, movies and tv.
This is a dream team. Absolutely loved Jaye and Ryan's individual podcasts and have been looking forward to listening to this new collaboration since it was announced.
Very entertaining and great guys! I might be biased but these two together is something I want to listen to! I'm excited to see a great friend of mine achieve great things. Give them a listen, you won't regret it :)
found this show browsing through. i don't typically listen to entertainment stuff but they speak about it in an educational way that keeps me up to date. looking forward to hearing more.
I never really listened to podcasts before, but this was a great one to be my first. These guys will keep me up to date on what's going on and I can tell they love what they're talking about!
Both hosts have a history of excellent podcasting, Jaye with In The Galaxy and Ryan with Filmbeef and Schmoeville. I'm very excited to hear their very own version of what happens when you mix Collider and The Watch into a show for the everyman. Best of luck with this one!
Huge fan of these guys. Not only informed and knowledgeable but extremely entertaining. Recommend this to everyone looking for a podcast that is genuine and promising!
