These podcasts reassure me that I am still a moderate and I have not gone insane. The only people I have to interact with have all joined the world of the Stepford Wives, modern conservative edition.
For 9yrs I have tried to have intelligent, fact based discussion with them and, well, you've mentioned what I come against. No reasoning seems to work. I've even asked them if they've written everything down in one place so they can actually see what it is, all together, that they believe. At that point, I have become "combative" or "tiresome". I could write a book, so I will just stop and say, "Thank you!".
