Fast Karate for the Gentleman

Reviews For Fast Karate for the Gentleman

This used to be the best podcast out there. But Joel has kids now and Dave can't seem to keep his mouth shut about politics. Fortunately the old episodes are there and are still great.
Great off the rails anime discussion.
I've been listening to this show for years now. I love the candy corn soda episode and anything to do with 24. Now that the hosts have families and lives to lead it may be less frequent but the quality hasn't diminished. Go to the backlog and re-listen to any episode, you won't be disappointed.
I have been listening this guys for a while, and every show is good times. Happy 10 year anniversary I guess :D
I haven't listened to the show since the very beginning, but I have been listening since the late 2000 s. Another pocast, GeekNights, recommended them (almost on a daily basis) so I decided to try out the show. I am happy I did, because their approach to reviewing games, anime, and other nonsense is fresh and hilarious. They're not going to like everything you like, and they definitely wont fanboy out as much as you might, but It's a fun podcast notwithstanding. Fast Karate X!
This podcast has me in a constant state of laughter. Two intelligent/insane hosts who review anime, video games, the insanity that is 24 and what ever else is parsed between their neural pathways from one subject to the next. Great podcast, I look forward to every update. Don't miss out on this gem.
Very laid back show, and it's more about videogames than Anime, but I do still listen because even when they're focusing on video games, it's still interesting and entertaining...and sometimes I'm rewarded with a discussion of Anime on the side. The show is very laid back & casual. Each episode starts off in media res, apropos of nothing. No intro music, no outro music. They just start talking. It's different. The hosts have good chemistry, are knowledgable, and sometimes make guest appearances on other shows like ANNCast or A.W.O. Definitely worth knowing about in its own right. Give Dave & Joel a listen! Well worth your time.
Many episodes I listened too over the past month were played at full volume and still barely audible. I assume they are recording each other over Skype or some other VOIP program which may be the cause of the audio levels.
2000 thousands Years into the future Fast karate is going to become law. I HAVE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN CYBERNETIC DINOSAURIAN EYES!!!
Fast Karate is a podcast which claims to be about anime and video games but is actually about food and 24. And that's pretty alright with me.
Fast Karate is one of the funniest podcasts out there. Somehow they have the ability to make anything they talk about funny. It could be anime, food, games, or any other topic that pops in their heads. They could do a whole episode only talking about cheesesteak and I would laughing uncontrollably.
Are you ready for a puppy riding a unicorn into a pink paperbag filled with glitter? I didn't think so. You wanted awesome personified. You want to listen to this podcast.
Though the least that I could do would be absolutely nothing, I thought that I will go one step further and give them a rating for the many hours of awesome entertainment that they have provided.
This podcast is so amazing it cured my cancer.
I see a lot of people highly rating this podcast for its anime reviews, but honestly I don't even watch that much anime and I love it. Dave and Joel could talk about any subject and they'd find a way to make it hilarious. I highly, HIGHLY recommend trying out an episode or two and see if their comedic style tickles your fancy. The fact that they mostly talk about video games, anime, and food is just delicious nerdy icing on the cake.
They are doing it for free ya know
Dave and Joel, a modern day Ray Bradbury and Oscar Wilde dole out Philosiphy and comedy in one neat little package, whilst seemingly doing nothing but taking about Video Games, Anime, and Food. May whatever God you believe in bless Dave and Joel.
It's a very chilled out and fun podcast that's basically two best friends chatting about video games and anime. You guys rock!
This podcast , while being hilarious, also has great reviews and I value their taste. Just find out for yourself.
If Dave and Joel's Fast Karate for the Gentleman were my daughter I wouldn't let her go to prom out of fear that she'd likely get the young man taking her pregnant.
I found Dave and Joel through a tribute podcast (which is also good), and have never looked back. Fast Karate is without equal: it's the best of all anime podcasts. Anyone who's ever listened to the boys knows that this is hardly even an anime show, regardless of its categorization. If you could say anything, you'd have to call Fast Karate a general humor podcast. Dave and Joel have nigh-perfect banter, and are promised to make you laugh, on a constant basis. There are a lot of great podcasts, but Fast Karate for the Gentleman stands at least a head above the others.

Found this podcast three years ago randomly searching iTunes for cowboy bebop. Since then I've never missed a show. I think it's all the free tech advice?
Its a podcast.
Two everyday guys wage a war of wits against the rest of the interwebs and the world at large. Completely opinionated, biased and honest, what more do you need when you want to learn about your favorite video games, anime or culinary delights from around the world (or at least, NY and Philly)? Only pure genius, the likes of which mere mortals cannot understand, could deliver consistantly hard hitting (and hilarious) podcasts . . . without ever being edited! So, "two everyday guys?" Or champions to the cause? I'll let you decide!
Love this show. It's everything that's right about podcasting without everything that's wrong. Give any episode a try. You won't be sorry.
This show is awesome in a way I'm having a hard time describing. I usually can't stand podcasts that ramble on without staying on a single topic, but Dave and Joel somehow make it work. There so charismatic that I find myself interested even in their views on peanut butter. I dont' even care what my own mother or boyfriend cares about peanut butter. Yet, I have to hear Fast Karate's opinion as if they were mystical guru's sitting in the lotus position on a mountain that I just climbed bare handidly up to hear.
Dave and Joel will engulf you in a whirlpool of terror and tension!
This is hands down my favorite podcast. Video games, anime, the internet, movies, food- it's all here, and I find the hosts to be entertaining and smart. Good job guys! I look forward to the next podcast.
As good as the Greatest podcast ever but with videogameolishous favor! Oh and something about food and anime.
This podcast is over!
One word: consistancy. the random anime shows and the wit here is one of the reasons i love podcasts. wish I could think of more to say...but I dont. Its too simple.
And I host one. That alone should be enough evidence of their greatness.
Joel and Dave have the funniest gaming, anime and food podcast on iTunes. I am a little bit heartbroken when a week goes by without the Fast Karate.
Dave and Joel's commentary on Anime, Video Games and their life lessons/anecdotes are intelligent, witty, insightful and "can make you cry funny". Unlike other podcasts in this genre these aren't a couple of 15 year old brats uttering their ignorance praising the wonders of Naruto, etc. With Fast Karate I often save their podcasts to listen to when I am in a bad mood and everytime I'm finished I feel better. As if they had sonically sent me a guiness + a valium directly into my brain through the ear. :)
Seriously the funniest podcast on the Internet let alone the funniest anime and/or video games podcast. These two give you some of the most amazing reviews you will find anywhere. Plus as much as they are cracking you up they often have some witty and remarkable insights into what they are watching. They also talk about food. If you listen to one podcast make it this one.
If not then check out the earlier episodes :(... Dinobots, what have you done to my favorite podcast?!!?!?!
If you aren't listening to this then what are you doing, trying to expand your knowledge with EDUCATIONAL podcast? Your not getting any smarter, just enjoy this delightful half hour escape into the world of widjergames and anime via two overly opinionated hosts that will keep you laughing.
Do you know that feeling right before you take a dump, and you just know it's gonna feel really, really good? If you could sustain that giddy sensation for 40 straight minutes, and your farts had the sophisticated wit of one Oscar Wilde, that's what listening to an episode of Fast Karate's like. It's deriving pleasure from all the strange, dirty, disgusting, and satisfying things that make us human beings. Yes, it's about anime. Yes, it's about video games. Yes, it's about Jack Bauer waterboarding the hell out of due process. But more importantly, it's about why we get such guilty pleasure out of watching these things in the first place. Also, lightning trains and baby bombs.
I love your show. I listen to every episode at work and laugh every joke along the way, even if I am unfamiliar with the topic I can still get the humor associated by how you guys explain it. Love it. I had to leave the office and throw up in the bathroom at work because of how hard I was laughing at episode #370 about the Ninja Gaiden OVA. Keep it up guys.
Except for the random WOW segments, this show is always interesting.
In a way, this podcast is like watching a Nazi get karate-kicked in the nuts.. A part of you can't help but wince a little as you imagine the searing anogony, but an even LARGER part of you has to chuckle with glee at the fact that it's happening to a Nazi, and not you. FIVE STARS.
I have been listening to Fast Karate for at least 3 years now, and with every new show, there is always something new to laugh at. This podcast is the brain child of Dave Riley and Joel White, in which the two discuss games, anime, life, and sometimes food. Normally, I wouldn't recommend a podcast like this, but the chemistry between these two hosts is second to none. They are comprable to Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon, except with each taking center stage instead of one being a sidekick. They have a very loose format to their show, with a deceptive ammount of structure. But the best part of this podcast is that they understand what radio or talk is all about. The theatre of the mind. Their comedy stylings will keep you laughing all the way to work, and on the way back, with witty banter and whacky scenarios. Take one listen, and I you will likely come back for another episode, then another one. Before you know it, you are hooked.

Fast Karate is ENGERY for your MANLY FIST! There needs to be more stars, for how AWESOME this podcast is. SEVENTY SIX STARS! AWESOME FIST FACE CAPITAL LETTERS NINJAS AUDITORY MINDGASMS
I've been listening to this podcast for one or two years now and it has never dissapointed. Every episode is gold. Picture walking along minding your business. Now picture a man exploding your head for no apparent reason. That is Fast Karate for the Gentleman. I love this podcast more than a boy should love a podcast and I don't even watch anime or play games. Their use of the English language (or engrish if you prefer) is unparalleled. I too wish to be as smart as Dave and or Joel someday. I mean Dave or Joel would be one thing but together? An intellect matched only by my admiration for the men themselves. Well played gentleman, well played.
