Chang and Meleen have become my favorite Tarotistas in a crowded field of practitioners. Their postcards and Chang’s associated books, “Tarot Correspondences” and “36 Secrets”, and Chang’s and Meleen’s joint project “Tarot Decyphered”, hew closely to the Golden Dawn correspondences that I am most familiar with, and they expand on them skillfully, blending mythology (a nice example is the rivers of Hades Meleen discussed for 5C, 6C, and 7C), the mythology of surrounding star groups, classic cartomantic meanings, I Ching, Buddhism (for example, dukkha being a theme of 4C), and alchemy.
I have not finished the entire series yet—not even close—but having gone through the majors, the wands, and having made it through 6C, I’m looking forward to what else they have to say. It has been a joyride of esoterica so far, and I don’t expect it to let up for the remainder of the series.
