On The Bench

Reviews For On The Bench

great for anyone looking to get into models, and has tons of really helpful tips
Love the show but one thing would make it amazing. You need to get rid of Julian. If I want to listen to someone talk down about stuff I like, talk to everyone like they are beneath him, talk to everyone like they are stupid, or just plainly act like what he thinks is above everyone else I would go have a conversation with my teenage son. I love listening to David and Ian but when Julian speaks makes me want to go ground my son. Get the entitled child off the show!!! Yes I would say the same thing face to face.
Really like the variety of styles from the three presenters. Good, gentle argument and discussion. Love the variety of topics too. And in Julian, I’ve now found the only other person who’s seen Condorman!
Fount this podcast through the Fine Scale Modeler site. I enjoy scale modeling of all types and this podcast provides a great way to stay in tune with my hobby during commutes and other non-work bench time. The hosts are fantastic—knowledgeable and experienced but don’t take themselves too seriously and enjoy bantering and poking fun at each other. The show and hosts are located in Australia, while I am in the US, and it is also great to here the perspective of scale modeling on an internationally level. The show is an informative and fun way to stay tuned in to the scale modeling hobby.
An informative and entertaining show, about what’s new in the modeling world. Not to mention that the three of them are from Australia mate.
These guys are terrific! Easy to listen to, very knowledgeable, can’t wait for the next episode!!
When you get somebody to keep the voices level equal, I will move this great podcast to a 5 star. Right now, when I set the volume for the host(s), the guest is so low as to not be heard (unless I turn the volume up, which then blasts the hosts voices at me!!). This sound equalization is mandatory on a multi voice pod.
I absolutely enjoy my time listening to these wonderful Australian modelers. They are regular guys who share their modeling experience (both successes and failures) and seem to have a balanced view of the hobby, with an emphasis on having fun. While they have a great amount of knowledge, they bring in guests when helpful and genuinely want to present an informative and entertaining podcast. Simply put, it feels like I’m hanging out with a few friends discussing models and modeling. Highly recommended, great guys!
This is a very helpful resource. Please continue to upload these podcasts - great for a knowledgeable listening experience and to continue my growth as a modeler.
Didn’t think it was possible but this modeling podcast is curiously inspiring to me. Thanks gents!
I’m really enjoying the shows. Interesting, informative and entertaining. What more could you want.
Just found this podcast about a week ago. I’ve had to binge – listen one episode after another. Great job, Dave, Ian & and Julian. Keep it up!
JUST discovered this podcast because of a post on HyperScale (announcing Ep.27... wow I have a lot to catch up on!). Just finished Ep.1 while working out. Wonderful! Great incentive to keep the model building mojo rolling along. I hope you guys stick with it! I’l be spreading the word...
I have learned quite a lot from you guys after getting back into it after 20+ years. Keep up the good work!
I am just getting back into scale modeling. This podcast is super interesting with genuinely interesting interviews. Good info for all levels. Super great - I hope the continue the podcast and keep it going!
A great podcast with helpful segments along with the main subjects. They cover multiple categories of modelling but in a way that even if the subject isn't your thing, it'll still be interesting and informative. Listening to their experiences with different paints currently. It got me looking at my stash again and finding something to work on, for an Armorama campaign no less. Keep it up guys!
Just recently got back into the hobby and I am enjoying the hell out of listening to this podcast. Keep it up! Cheers from the USA.
