been watching wisecrack for years and only recently got into rick and morty, but absolutely fell in love with the show. wisecrack’s videos have been beyond helpful in not only further understanding the show, but in its application to my life in general. ive convinced my girlfriend to not only start rick and morty but also watch wisecrack’s videos on it and listen to the squanch!! hopefully she doesn’t think me a fraud and realize my rick and morty pitches to her contain about 50% information y’all have given me. podcast is great, love all of you guys and what you have to say.
im in college and just took an elective on podcasting so i can’t listen to any podcasts now without thinking of the the things i learned and how i might edit them to be better lol. my only criticisms are technical things like inserting the direct clips from the show when one of you quotes it, a little more time for digestion between topic shifts, and minor editing to organize thoughts on different topics so y’all aren’t jumping around as much and the episode is more coherent.
I’m all for new and diverse voices on the show, but I think being an viewer of the show would probably be a good baseline for guests. I’m not really untested in hearing a first time viewers opinions on deep continuity episodes. Tuning out.
The show can be good when it is good, but there are a lot of low points where the hosts will discuss interesting interpretations but not the content of the episode. There has also been a drop in quality during season 5 where they being on guest hosts who have sometimes not watched Rick and Morty, who do being good points from their respective disciplines, but have trouble with having a discussion based on the show in totality. I really want to like this show but a lot of times I get frustrated with how the discussions seem to gloss over some details or have discussions on greater ideas that do not feel very fleshed out/ feel like the host just wanted to talk about a tangential topic they are interested in. Some people Will love this show, especially if you want to think about the episodes and a higher level and what they might mean in terms of larger topics, but if you are someone who want to discuss the episodes themselves and how the writing animation and themes fit the narrative the episode is going for you probably won’t find the discussions you want here.
I love everything wisecrack puts out, always entertaining and thoughtful. They even give me a new appreciation for the Rick and Morty episodes I don’t enjoy as much. Often find myself looking forward to new seasons of Rick and Morty because it means we get more episodes of The Squanch!
I just subscribed to all of their podcasts. I love them all! Anyone questioning if you should subscribe - you got this far - stop in, listen, and you’ll have no doubt. Hope this helps. Also, this group has helped me think more critically about the content I consume.
This podcast is a great deep dive into the content of Rick and Morty. The cast explores philosophical and psychoanalytical nature of a heavily layered show. They are great at pointing out consistencies between episodes and identifying classic movie genre tropes displayed in Rick and Morty. The only downside is they easily fall into thinking about some jokes or themes too critically, so much so that they miss that some jokes are just that. All in all, love the podcast and I will listen to them as long as they produce them.
The second I found out about this podcast I knew I had to rewatch Rick & Morty, and I was not disappointed, the variety of the topics never seize to hold my attention and every time I look forward to the next episode. Contentious joy and entertainment.

This guy is dense. Completely unfunny and derails the flow of the show anytime he speaks up with his unfunny quips and completely misses the point of the most basic jokes or gags. Perhaps he is on the spectrum which would make sense.
I love this podcast, and can't wait to hear what these guys have to say about future seasons. If you like a deep dive into the philosophy of the shows/movies then wisecrack/wisecasts are for you, and if you enjoy Rick and Morty, you will love the discourse by these intelligent gentlemen. Keep doing what you're doing guys, and stay squanching!
I'm waiting for season 4 (and 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10!!!) and I'm loving these deep dives into the existing episodes. Catching up before the next season comes out. Can't squanching wait!
Supposed to be a podcast dissecting themes and concepts but mostly just dudes misremembering things and confusing themselves on generally very simple stories and concepts. A great hate-listen. 🖕

When your friends don't watch Rick & Morty listening to the Wisecrack crew geek out over every episode is the next best thing. Not as polished as their Youtube videos (not necessarily a criticism--different format after all), but still insightful and there's one for every episode. I'll definitely listen to the rest of the podcast while hoping for a season 4 release date.

I listen to this podcast in the shower, mowing the lawn, doing homework and when i’m trying to go to bed. I love hearing all of the insights the crew has and I always look forward to every new episode!

Ironically mostly you’ll find the philosophy behind Rick and Morty is that life is pointless and everything is ridiculous. These talented hosts will break it down for us! Also Hawaii.

Any one of the Wisecrack podcasts is worth a listen, as they provide a unique blend of intellectual discussion and comedic banter that keep the content engaging and entertaining. However, if you’re a fan of Rick and Morty (and not a memory parasite), then this one is a MUST listen. They provide valid reviews/critiques of each episode while simultaneously diving into the deeper meaning and influences on the show. Most importantly, you can tell that they are a group who are having a great time talking about a show they love. Five stars well earned. Wubba lubba dub dub!
Hey y’all. I started out as a huge wisecrack YouTube fan and eventually checked out Show me the Meaning and The Squanch. I love both podcasts and can’t wait for them to be released every week. I don’t know if y’all have considered it, but I would love a BoJack Horseman podcast in this style once you run out of Rick and Morty episodes. I’m rewatching them for season five preparation and would love to hear your insights on one of my favorite shows. Thanks for the hard work!
I’ve tried several Rick and Morty podcasts and this is by far the best. The guests are very knowledgeable and thoughtful and provide deep, well explained analysis of a fantastic show.
We all know the problem: how can you squanch more rick and morty into your life when Dan and Justin take so long to squanch out a new season? Well folks, the answer is Wisecrack’s podcast, “the squanch,” where they squanch deep into the show and squanch out every little detail and meaning they can with the squanchy supply of episodes that currently exist. If I only had one squanchcast to squanch for the rest of my squanching life — it would be this one!

This is a really fun and thoughtful analysis of Rick and Morty. The series has been over for a while and, last time I checked, season 4 hasn’t even been announced yet. What keeps you guys regularly updating the material? I’m already over the hype of ‘Rick and Morty’ but I still find myself loving this podcast.
Tbh Rick and Morty is kind of a heavy show and even the smartest noodles can miss a lot of what’s happening just underneath the surface. These guys are not only well versed in philosophy but they are also pop culture detectives, and you really need both types of knowledge to really really appreciate Rick and Morty. Honestly the best part of the week. I impatiently sit around waiting for episodes.
