Really like the long form interviews that Jim Rome does with athletes, coaches and sports media. There are, however, way too many ads. They are played every five minutes, or so it seems. Sometimes after Jim asks a question, an ad is played before the answer to his question. They should be played in a group once or twice during an interview. Other than that, I would recommend this podcast.
Although the interviews and guess involving Jim are great, there are too many ads. Obviously a podcast needs to have advertising for survival. However, they probably have a lot of diminishing returns that having them and where they are placed might be unnecessary.
The Jim rome podcast is the standard of greatness in the industry . He is the goat of conversations with his guests opening up and going deep into their opinions and takes . I look forward each and every week to kicking it with rome on the pod !!!!!
I typically only listen when Rome has an interview I am interested in now, because there are WAY too many advertisements, and they are always awkwardly placed in the middle of the conversation.
The minute Dana White said he called Joe Rogan for his COVID concerns you lost me. And if I’m not mistaken you yourself Through shade at Aaron Rodgers when he stated his advice for covid came from Joe Rogan. No I’m not a Green Bay/ Aaron Rodgers fan. You should have called him out on it. Otherwise your shows and podcast are all amazing.
Always been a huge Rome fan, and this was my first podcast that I started and have listened to every one. Nothing better each Wednesday when I get a notification of a new Rome podcast. #rackhim
Not a huge fan of Rome. Casual appreciation of him. However, every show in this podcast series is top notch 5 stars. You can tell he’s genuinely interested in the guests he has on here and is way more engaging and less robotic than he is on the radio show. Even if i see a guest I’m not necessarily interested in, it turns out to be a decent show anyway.
Jim your interview with Steve Tasker was awesome!!!The story he related about the dinner they had and how McDermott was taking notes was just incredible. I live through all four of those Super Bowls and I cannot wait to live through another one! More Bills players on the podcast will make it better LOL...
I can’t think of another interview I’ve ever heard I enjoyed more than that. Listening to Jim Gray share stories of his long career was what drew me into the interview, but I received an unexpected treat. The unusual circumstances you two share in common concerning both of your biggest professional gaffes gives the listener an insight into something personal only you can truly understand what the other went through gave me the chills. I gained a new appreciation for Jim Gray as well concerning your letters to him early in your career what a great gentleman he is. My only regret is I can’t give you more than five stars!!
Huge fan of Jim Rome, and the content is awesome as always. The profanity he uses feels a little forced/unnatural, so that’s why I’m knocking one star off. Keep up the great work!
As a 30 yr baseball coach from youth to college, I’ve connected with many student-athletes from No Cal to So Cal. This man’s journey needs to be heard. I’m also a middle school PE teacher in the South Bay for over 20 years. Kids of all colors and backgrounds need to understand to downfalls of pot and where it can lead you.
This might be the best guest you’ve had because of the message and how he’s using it to make an impact! Thanks for giving him lots of room to tell his story!
Jumpman! Damon Freaking West might be the best podcast yet! Holy S$&t! His story is unbelievable and motivating. I didn’t want it to end. Will be checking out his books for sure. Thanks for continuing to find stories that need to be told on your pod!
Rome’s rants are way better than his interviews, but this podcast has had some good guests. Too bad it always turns to woke left wing politics though. Why can’t we just have our sports back Jim?? Leave your personal politics at the door!
This podcast is ok I suppose. I’m not a fan of the way he shoe horns profanities into the conversation. If it happens organically, ok. However it’s clearly forced. We get it. This isn’t terrestrial radio.
I am listening to ALL pods in sequence from the start. Up to pod 53, ever ONE of these Pods are off the charts!!! Off the chart good!!
Jim’s interviews are inspirational, meaningful and interesting!! He interviews professional and winners like himself!
I have now gotten to pod 70. Wanted to listen to the Jorge Masvidal interview - completely f ing awesome interview and now am heading backwards from there to pod 71 to keep up to date!! Rome’s Pods, still the best!!!
P.s. my thoughts and condolences to the Bryant family. It is so hard not to think of them and wish that never happened to such a special family.
Romey has access to top notch guests and does not let down. And quite honestly, the long format of the “side hustle” allows him to show why he is the best interviewer in sports talk. The conversations get deep, making it a binge worthy podcast. Well done Romey!
One month ago I got access to Rome’s podcast show.
I am blown away, it is the BEST show I have listen to. I am in a unique transition in my life, making a complete career change and the Rome podcast has significantly helped me: Gary Vanderchuck’s interview, David Goggins, Mr. Ferritta, Danny DeVito etc. All inspirational and gave me a bigger and more passionate view of life. That is not all; the content on all the shows are deep and entertaining. I love working on the weekend, plugging in the Rome show and going. I even sneak a listen in while golfing. I can’t say enough! Keep up the good work, it is changing lives.
I love Jim and the podcast. There have been a few guests that I was not interested in hearing from but I listened to it anyway and have always learned something new and gleaned something from. Every episode has something to offer. Check it out.
I have been listening to Rome for seems like 30 years. I remember listening to him at night time on 690. I never thought there would be anything better then his radio show but this podcast is unbelievable. I am so glad I found it. I listened to a couple and loved them. I Went back to the first one and am doing them in order now. The interviews are relevant and timeless.
There are a ton of podcasts out there but this one is the best one I’ve found and I can’t stop listening. The content is top shelf and this is the only pod that is must-listen in this house.
Great platform for these guests to be loose and uncandid. Love it. Well done Rome✊🏽
This show is great and has some good guests. It would be much better with fewer ad reads. There are a couple at the beginning, one before the guest, a couple mid way, and then one at the end. I listen to a lot of pods, but none have anywhere near as many ads.
