You lost the uniqueness and personality of the podcast with this iteration. Being an og listener, the personality of ciph and Rosenberg is what drew me to the show, along with the in depth gems that came out of the interviews. Structure is a good thing, but this structure took away what made the podcast stick out for so long originally. Now it sounds like every other podcast in structure.
When we getting the 8 part carhart girl series? Love you usin the archives to do the Jay series. Makin me wanna revisit the old ish. Thanks guys! Ps glenlivet is trash
As an old school JuanEp listener, I was hyped about the comeback; but, kind of so-so about the new format. However, this series was DOPE! Run it back for another one! Peace!
Best hip hop podcast I’ve ever listened to! I really appreciate the two of you for the insight, the personal reflections and honesty, and of course the guests! Keep up the great job.
I’ve been listening to JUAN EP since way back. I loved everything about it the comical banter between Peter & Ciph with all their legendary guests on the show talking about HIP-HOP history. The reboot is good but it’s not great I’m annoyed at the phone conversations and the commercials that seem to run longer than the actual interviews/discussions. While I’m aware theres money involved in the mass appeal deal and their sponsors it just doesn’t feel the same as before it lacks passion and just feels like another way to create content but as little as possible to make it worth the time. I miss the 2-3 hour podcasts of pure stories or even just the “shows about nothing” with Pete & Ciph. It’s good listening if you crave the HIP-HOP content but I find myself craving something more after listening instead of feeling full as before mass appeal. But with all that being said JUAN EP is still a phenomenal podcast and stays true to what they’ve been bringing you just in a new format. I used to make this my number 1 podcast now it’s number 2 to DRINK CHAMPS.
The magic is there. The goofy humor and deep, deep hip-hop knowledge. The theme of Jay Z just gives them an interesting road map to follow. I’m all about it.
Still throwed remix was so hot in the south
Z-ro, Bun B, and Jeezy
Big pimpin- made it okay to listen to jay z in the south!
U guys need to bun b interview lol
Best pod cast still!!
You guys are super funny and very informative at the same time lol. This is actually the first podcast I have ever subscribed to. I love it! You guys are great and can’t wait for more episodes.
Love the podcast guys, wish I would’ve known about podcasts sooner. The only reason you didn’t get 5 stars is that you guys are like my family (we’re Dominican) never on time!!!
This podcast would be so much better if the hosts weren’t constantly cracking terrible jokes. It is a very interesting subject that is presented incredibly poorly
Been listening since the beginning. The format has changed a lot but I’ve enjoyed the evolution. Still moving at once volume.
One request - PLEASE RELEASE THE FULL ARCHIVE OF SHOWS!!!
I want non black people to talk about the injustice of black people as much as they love to talk about hip hop. Don’t just talk about one aspect of us.
