Seeing the changes TTMIK recently made to move their content to their paid platform is understandable, however, it’s very disappointing to see that they deleted most of the episodes here. I used to just re-listen to episodes in the background while I worked and it was a nice way to refresh and have listening practice. They could have just left them here and monetized them with ads or something if revenue generation was the issue. Anyway, thank you, TTMIK, for all your hard work.
I get they need to get their money somehow but seems like this shouldn’t have been the way to take off their lessons. They might as well just take the whole podcast off at this point
I was getting ready to listen to episode 19 of lesson 1 until i realized that lesson 1 only has 3 episodes now?! what happened to all of the other ones, this was my favorite podcast to listen to to learn Korean until this happened, this is very upsetting.
I have been enjoying this podcast so much! The lessons are well designed, easy to understand and fun to listen to. The free online lesson resources are amazing as well, as are TTMIK’s books.
I really live studying languages and I always want to get into the “meat” of a language right away (ie: the grammar) and this podcast does a great job of introducing a multitude of grammatical structures. I also really love the textbooks that go with the show; it really helps to see all the sample sentences written out to make sure you’re learning it correctly.
I’ve been listening to TTMIK casually for years and it has given me a strong foundation for Korean grammar, a perfect way to learn for auditory learners and you can compliment the podcasts with their textbooks on their website!
Overall I would say this podcast is pretty great for learning korean. I do have to say that there is a lot of misogyny tho. I had read these comments before I started listening and assumed ppl were probably over reacting but I can definitely tell where they are coming from. Living in an East Asian country myself, I know how normalized sexism is, and that the hosts probably meant no harm (also this podcast is pretty old). But if ur aiming for a global audience, you’ve got to get with the times. Plz learn more abt sexism and micro-aggressions.
This podcast is the best Korean learning resource I’ve found. It’s so helpful and informational. They teach conversational and written Korean, so you’re aware of both. Also, the chemistry and banter between the hosts is hilarious. Anyone who doesn’t understand that the “jabs” are all one-hundred percent jokes hasn’t been listening to the same podcast as me, apparently. I’ve heard other people talk about misogyny ??? there literally isn’t any. 10/10 recommend this podcast and their YouTube channel! It’s spectacular and so freaking funny, as well.
These podcasts and their other resources are very great for learning korean. However, there is some “demeaning banter” as many people have called it, so if that bothers u don’t even bother listening to these amazing podcasts and learn on ur own some other way!! Hyunwoo, don’t worry about those comments, people don’t know how to take a joke, and even if ur comments are somewhat “demeaning” it is clear how much y’all love and care for one another. The chemistry the two of I have together as friends shows, that’s why those jokes shouldn’t be taken so seriously by people. I too joke with friends like this sometimes. So hyunwoo don’t stress over those pressed people, I know(and hopefully some others know too) that you would never intend on hurting kyeong eun! Love both of you guys and don’t let anyone get to y’all. 😇
I would recommend creating new recordings since these are 10 years old and eliminate the misogyny and demeaning banter. It’s very offensive and time to update with fresh content and again; just be kind and stop with the derogatory jabs. I thought at one point that you were crushing on her and it was creepy.
Yeah, the content is great, but I could do without all the misogyny and demeaning banter. But I have to say it’s been helpful for key phrases before moving to Korea.
The episodes only start from level 1 episode 25? I would love to get more into this and it being available on this app is especially convenient. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help us out.
I’d love to start listening to this podcast, but I’m not advanced enough to start on Level 3. Is there any way you can bring back Levels 1 and 2, please? I’d be so grateful!
I’ve been listening to the podcasts since I started learning and they’ve helped a lot! But since I’m using a different phone I can’t seem to find lessons 1-2 and I think some of 3... Did they get deleted/taken down?
Either way, thanks for making learning korean simple and fun! 💕
I enjoy listening to these lessons on my commute, and they have really helped me grasp some of the basics of Korean conversation. However, I like to listen to them over and over again to refresh, but the first 17 lessons have gone missing?
I’ve been listening to these podcasts online for over a year now. They helped me so much while I was in Korea. They’ve also helped me reach lower intermediate level Korean and I couldn’t thank TTMIK enough for that. Very glad these are now available in such a convenient format!!
