Reviews For Twisted Britain

Love this podcast
I was listening to TCE and he promoted the show and started it from the beginning and thoroughly love it hope to listen to many more.
I recently found Twisted Britain and instantly fell in love with the show. I love the story telling style in an English pub setting. It’s like we’re all sitting around having a beer together while the stories are being told. I highly recommend this show.
I only found Twisted Britain a couple months ago but have been actively dug into the crates to listen to older episodes. I like the mix between your garden variety crime and historical crime and macabre tales. Bob and Ali have such a nice example of platonically sweet male friends. Thank you for the show, keep the episodes coming.
I love these two!
Ali is the best!! Bob, you are pretty cool too!

Love it & would love for you to branch out
In my top five, very clever and funny. Hosts are smart and well prepared for the cases the present.
But too much fluff and poor investigation, a lot of your content is wrong please investigate your stories better and get your facts straight
I recently found Twisted Britain and love it! It’s like hanging out with friends in the pub sharing stories.
I’m loving this casual and engaging podcast that blends true crime with fascinating bits of history, mystery, and macabre. Charming hosts and thoughtful discussions in a Scottish pub; it’s just what this American needs to escape reality.
Hello. My first time listening as I I did a massive search for crime from other countries. Tired of our. Love the accent and different style. As I listened I thought I had made up my mind until not trying to save her came up. Surly he could have tried to resuscitate her. And the double ring. Why would he ring at all? We in the US are much tougher it seems. So me? Manslaughter and abuse of a corpse which actually gets you quite a bit of time. My vote 25 to 30 years. Thanks, Dawn
Really enjoy listening to the historic crime stories of Britain! And, since I live in the U.S. I enjoy the U.K accents. What can I say? Really, interesting and entertaining content. I also love the fact they record in a local pub and rumblings in the background are noises usually coming from the Tuesday night dominoe tournaments. This Podcast gets 5 stars from me!
Ideal for an Anglophile and true crime devotee like me. It’s like sitting in a pub and discussing true crime stories with some new friends. Also, I like Bob’s voice. The accents are adorable too.
Thanks for sticking with your podcast and finding a new co-host. You are both doing a great job of finding and presenting interesting crime stories. I like the mixture of topics and the friendly banter. I even like the background noises from the pub or your back garden!
Great show! Easy listening, great crimes.
Ever!!! Love it.
Starting listening yesterday, all the way from the Oregon coast *USA. Thanks for the great distraction from all the crazy. Followed ya’all on F.B. Much love. : D -Sandi W.P.
I’ve never written a podcast review before but I absolutely love this one. Deeply Scottish, delightfully calm in tone, crimes I’d never heard of, big fan.
Love the podcast. Miss Nadine. Hope she comes back. Thanks for sharing your show with us.
Love it! A couple episodes do get a little too old timey for me but otherwise I have enjoyed them all. On episode 31 now and I enjoy the Pub noises, their chatter, goofing off and even the guests. I found Twisted Britain after listening to Seeing Red and they kept bringing it up.🤠
It’s the most boring podcast ever. When every episode starts with the hosts discussing how their research went that week, you know you’re in for...a snooze fest. They pick very boring and old-timey cases, many of which aren’t very serious crimes. Lots of bank robbing in the 1800’s, etc. Also their confidence level is low, they both tend to stammer and the wrap up conversations about what they learned from each story are absolutely mindless. They are really quite boring in general.
First story I listened to, took FOREVER to get started with the story. I’m sticking with crime junkies, so much better. DISAPPOINTED.
Can’t get through episodes because they interrupt each other constantly. Also the giggly banter is not interesting at all. Deleting now
These two crack me up and I love it when they make each other laugh. The stories are well researched and their delivery is respectful and detailed. Give this one a listen - I think you’ll like it!!
I love listening to these friends chat about all kinds of weird things. Some might not like the background noise of the pub but I do. I think it gives the listener the feel of joining a couple friends in the pub! The only thing I don’t like is that I am a strange person not on social media and since I don’t believe they have an email I can’t get into contact with them! Other than that fantastic podcast.
Twisted Britain is really enjoyable to listen to! The hosts often tell lesser-known stories, which is great when you listen to as many true crime podcasts as I do. They have enough banter to keep things light and fun when appropriate, but they also manage to stay on track enough to keep the episodes to a reasonable length. The one downside is the background noise (they record in a pub) which can be distracting to the listener and occasionally the hosts as well. But you do eventually get used to it, and the sound quality gets better as you go along. I highly recommend giving this a listen!
Fun, funny and informative rarely go together. Except here! I’ve learned everything from the difference between the bubonic and the pneumonic plague to how one goes about being “murdered by a ghost.” It’s recorded in a pub, so it’s casual and unpredictable, but still packed with facts. Love Bob. Love Nadine. Love this podcast!!
Coming to us from the Settle Inn in Stirling UK which was opened for your drinking pleasure in 1733. Hosted by Bob and Nadine this weeks podcast review is Twisted Britain. Every other week Bob and Nadine meet up where they struck up a friendship over trivia, podcasts and morbid topics. Twisted Britain is different from other True Crime shows I listen to as each episode Bob and Nadine tell a story one long and one short. One reason I enjoy Twisted Britain is that Bob and Nadine research crimes exclusively from the UK to bring to us wherever you live. - Podcast Junkie
I’ve been listening to true crime podcasts for years, and you guys have quickly become one of my favourites!!! MORE! MORE! MORE!
Really this is a 3.5 for me, that I’m calling a 4 to be generous, as it could bump itself up (even to 4.5 territory) with a few tweaks. Editing will be this podcast’s friend - pauses are sometimes too long at the cuts, causing momentum loss for the listener - it’s clunky enough to be distracting. Edit out the filler words that don’t add anything. (Really. Uh-huh). Sometimes the background noise detracts rather than adds. All in all, this seems like editing skills that are in a growth period. I assume that part will get better over time. More of a hurdle: while on one hand I feel like I’m waiting to hear these two find their voices, on the other hand Im sometimes hearing opinions on jurisprudence that make a me cringe a little at being ill-informed or juvenile. So, when they do find their voices, I hope it’s by way of a lot more research on criminal justice & how mental health, poverty/class & race have historically affected the execution thereof.
I love this podcast. The hosts are conversational without sounding like flippant a holes about the victims and they tend to find very interesting cases to talk about. If you like true crime podcasts and want something that’s not over sensationalizing or sleazy while still being a chatty style between two hosts, I recommend this.
Very interesting stories and great casual format! Don't change a thing!
BORING!!!!!
meet in a pub, and record a podcast. What's not to like?
The only thing bad about this podcast is that there aren’t more episodes!
Really enjoy this and I'm big into trur crime BUT it would be best if the woman didn''t say "yeah...right..un-huh...." after each sentence out of the partner. Pls. Ive stopped listening to one other podcasts bc of that. It's distracting.
Two perfectly paired personalities who bring just the right amount of levity and respect to some awful stories...keep them coming!
I didn't think I'd like this show, I avoid the "two people chatting" type pods, but this is good! Loved the stories, love the accents. Even the bar noises in the background add character. One minor quibble, mouth snaps. They drive me crazy, others may not notice them, but I did.
What’s not to like? The chemistry between the hosts is excellent, the stories are well told, and the pub ambience comes through with a warm glow. Give it a try!
I really love weird true crime stories or just weird stories in general. This podcast has both, and I love the pub sounds in the background. It really makes it feels like we’re hanging out and listening to stories with good friends. The stories so far are all really good ones. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, and this one has several I haven’t heard before. Even with the ones I’ve heard I love hearing these hosts relating them. It’s perfect.
