Not so good anymore
I love your show and I’ve shared my discovery of your podcast with my young adult offspring in hopes of a condensed and appealing insight to very important history. They are (all 3) half Palestinian but know little of the history and origins of the Palestinian Diaspora. The good news is they are interested in learning. I love your history on Europe, Russia, China.. all great. Keep it coming. You are a much needed voice. PH
Four stars is a bit too low, but five means perfect, so 😕. I’m a conservative, but tired of news and information with a spin to some political side. I perceive these guys are not trying to favor the left or right, but just give information. Each episode I’ve listened to has really kept my attention and left me pondering geopolitics better informed.
I really enjoy your podcast. You are insightful and bring a clear view of a subject. It helps that you bring to the table facts and storylines that help me better understand the context of a scenario to make my own judgement. It is refreshing vs the current narrative that is so loaded with extreme liberal and conservatives attacked and bias it’s hard to get facts. Your humour is fun as well. Thanks for the work you do to make this podcast!
It’s great to listen to Danny, I appreciate Henry’s perspectives at times, this podcast has been a great resource in understanding geopolitics and how history is impacting the present. Thank you guys for providing such great content; while I may not always agree it’s important to hear other’s opinions. ✌️wish you both all the best , I had my own child same time as Henry so I appreciate the Dad support shown to him on the podcast 👍 Thanks again for your time and continued contributions to the podcast community.
If you are going to listen to a podcast and the minute you hear something you disagree with you won't be listening long. If you can be challenged and keep your wits, you will benefit from these Intense and informed discussions. You'll note when you disagree. Not doubt they take on topics that are battlefields of politics now. And it's done in a style [it's bro history afterall] that is a definite flavor choice and not a concession to audience or podcasting style. Actually reminds me of some of the 2004-6 early podcast style, and I kind of miss that.
This could be a really interesting podcast. The hosts are very knowledgeable. However, they wander off topic WAY too much. They seem to be a little too impressed with their own pontifications.
I have only listened to the Israel / Gaza episodes. The podcasters are challenging my construct of the Israel situation and making me question my position. The evidences and the logic that the podcasters use to support their arguments has convinced me that they are credible.
Loved the episode about Zionism. You confirmed many of my own observations but discussed them further in a clear and objective way. Going to continue listening. C
Every time I drive somewhere far I listen to at least one episode. Just listened to the WW1 series once again because there was so much to soak in. You guys started a another series on the world wars before Gaza happened. I know it’s important to stay in the loop on current events but I’m excited once you start that back up again. You guys are busy people I hope you can keep spitting out episodes when you can.
Great show.
This ain’t the news, just some friends talking about some tough history topics. And they do a great job too. Lot of biased trolls reviewing here lately, don’t mind them.
Surprised at the simpleton, pro-Hams terrorist takes and disinformation ... but i'm not a snowflake and appreciate they do not fall into easy categories. I just reject the disinformation - there is a Arab state, it's controlled by Hams and the PLO. The terrorists are destroying their own people - Srabs have equal rights in Israel, but Jews have zero rights in Arab-controlled areas.
Nothing you are saying on this issue is nearly as biased as what some other reviewers here have said. You know you are on to something when you can piss off both sides. Keep the eps coming, ignore the noise.
I didn’t find this podcast to be particularly informative and was riddled with bias. What a shame. Maybe they should do more research to present more balanced perspectives
Was a regular listener, as in every single episode. Found myself getting more and more perturbed by the bleeding of opinions into content but carried on. After listening to 2 hours of Matthew Hoh rant and rave about Israel being the great Satan I had enough. A scant “yeah that was bad” statement on the brutal terrorist attacks on 10/7/23 and continue Israel bashing. I’m checked out. Generally agreed with Hoh in the past. If he runs again this episode will be the reason I donate to his opponent.
Low rated reviews are folks just mad they are on the wrong side of history. Please more episodes on Israel/Palestine. Please expose the terrorizers who amid Israel killing and maiming children! The world needs to see!!!
Kweh! I just listened to an older episode to learn more about the Israel Palestine conflicts, and really appreciated the balance of perspectives, research, and critical discussion that doesn’t flatten historical contexts to contemporary issues. That episode talked a lot about settler colonization in nation states and referred to Nation State formations in other episodes, and looking back it appears there’s a lot of that covered in areas outside of Turtle island , or the US / Canada. One thing that was glaringly curious not in any of the episode titles was Native American and indigenous issues with sovereignty in the United States and Canada . As a Wyandotte Nation citizen of Oklahoma, I have very personal and political interests in this than the average person, and would love to see some of those connections you’ve made in other episodes right here in the United States regarding settler colonization and continuing issues with a colonial project imposed on tribal nations. Thank you for all your research and great discussions!
We need an “um” counter for this man. Finish a thought so it comes out smooth

These guys spend WAY too much time on opinion than fact; speculating on further conjecture and anecdotal. Also, their production is mediocre. They could say everything and cut out 40% of needless blah. I give them 2 stars only because they are fairly well spoken. I would say articulate, but that word sometimes insinuates knowledge. Definitely some time I wish I had back.
Does Mr Nino need to constantly say hum, ahm, hum. ? It’s very annoying
Seem like a knowledgeable bunch but the number of times they speak over each other is maddening. Had to turn it off.
Worst podcast pretending the be about history I’ve ever tried to listen to. You guys should reconsider your entire premise. Skip this, there’s much better history podcasts out there.
I hope the creators of this podcast reads this….. you are doing an injustice putting out this podcast. I have listened to a multitude of episodes and it seems to me that you guys have a narrative picked out before researching these topics and then push that narrative. This is a fact, completely apparent if you listen to an episode that discusses a topic that you are quite knowledgeable in. It is so obvious, I encourage people to listen to what they say and find it funny that for first they take anecdotal evidence to be completely true and then on top of this fact they self determine whether anecdotal evidence is true. In addition, the perspective they take they don’t consider evidence to the contrary rather they just say this is clearly false. For the creators, do unbiased in depth research before yapping all this nonsense and for the love of god be objective and not subjective.
The best history show (which occasionally touches on current events) on the internet. A+
These guys seem to give facts that aren’t a part of your history books. I enjoy how they have the balls to rip every side of the political spectrum for their ridiculousness and don’t push a narrative. I have only listened for about a week and have blown through roughly 15 episodes from 2019 but I’ll keep listening until I can catch up to the current date. New review edit: I am still a bug fan of the show but sometimes their side chats and offshoots have more girth to try ‘em than the topic that is in the episode name. For example I just got done listening to the history of JP Morgan Bank and there was only roughly 13 minutes of decent stuff about JP Morgan’s actual history
I just can’t take it anymore so much mouth moisture pickup it’s not listenable
Great unbiased source of information on current and pass events I had to stop listening to episode 283. It lost its structure and turned into a rant about 20 minutes in.

Few fact remarks Cotton was grown in the center not the west. The west is not desert, it’s savanna. The north region is not actually developed, mostly the developed areas in Sudan are the middle and a little bit the north east (the sea port) all other parts of the country are mostly even in terms of development. For more facts on the history of Sudan you can check the works of Mohammad Abu Alqasim Haj Hamad, I’m not sure though if there are translated into English. Best.
Very honest and well presented. I like how they are not biased. True ( not biased) History hurts sometimes!! But you got to know it. Thank you guys for the nice show

Great breakdown of the history and current Sudanese conflict!
This show seems like it will appeal to straight white people who feel oppressed by the mainstreaming of social justice movements and “centrists” who think they listen to all viewpoints but somehow only ever vote for and defend conservatives.
You can’t find something like this on YouTube !these guys can find alimony anything, and their gusts are geniuses, with a strong beer outside on a summer day is an awesome 2hrs.
Not only are these guys great in their own right, they also introduced me to Scott Horton- which has been truly formative for me. Thank you tons, keep it up! Next time I’m in PR coronas on me :) CW
3rd grade level morons.
am an avid follower . Really enjoy your podcast , especially the ones with Danny Sjursen . Would love to know his opinion about all going on in the world nowadays , especially in the Middle East . Pls have him more . Just a quick reminder , Empress Farah wasn’t half German , Queen Soraya was. Shah’s second wife , whom he divorced before marrying Farah a few years later, in the late 50s.
Best coverage of the causes of WW1 I have ever heard! 👍
Where are the new episodes
Enjoyed the flow you guys followed. Very easy to understand. Glad I found you very entertaining and informative.

I listen to a lot of history and geopolitical podcasts, and this is one of the best!
Unbiased opinion on historical events throughout history
I have been listening for a few months. I love this podcast because it is always well researched and the hosts have great chemistry.
I really enjoy the show. Most episodes don't require much prior knowledge. The banter between the hosts is enjoyable and lighthearted. And the best part of the show is how much meat they put on the bones of history. I appreciate the work it takes to try and understand these historical topics and make them even easier to understand for the listeners. Thank you very much guys. Keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work guys! Always entertaining to listen to. Would recommend!
Good podcast to listen to if you want to become informed with geopolitics. The banter between the two makes you feel as if you’re part of the group shootin the ish. Would like if they recommend some alternative news sources outside the mainstream media (Fox, CNN, MSNBC) Highly recommend to listen
