no joke, the best sound track and orchestration in any podcast i have heard. each episode is like a fantastic meal for my ears, and this is like the fifth time i've listened to the whole thing through.
A bit too explicit to recommend on my facebook feed or anywhere my nieces and nephews might find it, maybe that’s why it might not have been shared too much. Also unfortunate that there haven’t been new episodes since 2019.
This is one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. The atmosphere that the Dane and Ellie created with this one is really special. The story is captivating and imaginative but oh my god Dane’s composition truly steals the show. I’m listening to Sugar Neighbors on Spotify while I type this. That ending was beautifully done. I can’t believe we’re not getting a season 2!
Everything about this is so well done. The music, the storytelling, the background sounds, everything is so so good. It’s like watching a really good movie without even needing to see it. Hope there’s another season!!
This podcast absolutely transports me. The voice acting is solid, the music is frankly incredible, and the story is gripping, emotional, and wholly original. I’m sad I found this so late.
By the way, the soundtrack is on Band camp via Dane’s account for dirt cheap. Recommended!!
This is far and away the best nightvale presents podcast made and the fact that there is no second season from a lack of a large listener audience is CRIMINAL and it makes me so sad that we'll most likely never get another podcast with this level of production quality staring the same cast and crew.
I would give my left arm for any kind of extra content for this show PLEASE I love it so much and have listened to it way too many times, I am begging y’all to reconsider a second season or just anything!! The fans want more Dane !!!
The sound design and acting is on point, but there’s very little else to the show. It’s so disturbing for the sake of merely being disturbing that it comes off as gaudy. It’s lgbtq, but in the same way that hetero movies objectify women simply to get attention.
This is by far the best podcast I’ve ever had the pleasure to listen to. The music, the story, the characters and the production are all outstanding and it’s so disappointing that they were unable to continue the series into a second season. I’ve listened to this series probably five times and the music more times than I can count, and I recommend it to anyone who will listen to me.
I Loved this podcast, SO MUCH. my only wish is that they would make a second seasaon, but they said they wernt, so im pretty upset, like, whatt happens to howdy lady?
Ok I’m new to listening to podcast and I’m in love it all I do now.! But I can’t begin to describe the relatable feelings to this story it’s eerie, overwhelming and captivating. Go Dreamboy!! #dreamkittens
If I could move all of your mountains that be in your way to put this show back on I’d wish it so. And since that’s impossible I will pray to a fake being til I die this show was the best think I’ve had the pleasure of listening too and knowing this story thank you Dreamboy Creators.
Much love to all in creation of...
First of all, this is one of my favorite story podcasts. The main plot is a mystery/adventure, but this sense of mystery surrounds pretty much everything in the story from it’s interesting characters to extraneous details; it kept me hooked the whole way through. The whole thing felt very well done and immersive... but also!
I don’t know if anyone got this vibe, but there’s something about the setting, tone, musical score and narrative that all reminds me of Tim Burton movies or Coraline. I think it’s probably the surreal, dream-like tone that gave me the impression.
I loved this podcast. It was kind of like a short story, but with rad music. I wouldn’t change a single thing about it. But someone tell me why I was crying when they were in the hole together lol. And I want some cinnamon cake! I hope he writes or produces more stuff. Stephen King has this to say about short stories: “A short story is a different thing altogether – a short story is like a quick kiss in the dark from a stranger.” That’s how it made me feel.
I wanted this podcast to go on forever. So good. Ok, I’m not sure what the story line could possibly be, and I respect the creators’ decision, but fantastic job!
Also, SAVE ZOE.
Ugh my heartbreaks! I loved this show , the story was awesome and the music is amazing! I legit am so sad it’s over now, i feel like a lot of people waited very patiently for it to have a second season, and now are very sad it won’t. I hope they comeback with something else or just decide to surprise everyone and keep it going somehow! I will re-listen to it, it’s just that good! 🌈♥️
At first I loved it. I was so interested in the mystery of it and then when they started introducing a love interest I thought it’d be cute. Then they went way too far. I thought this would be a normal, fiction story with some action and some clean romance. Very disappointed that there wasn’t even a warning about it, usually explicit podcasts just means there’s some language, this needs some other marker.
I’m subscribed to over 200 podcasts and this is my favorite hands down. I’m deadass I’ll personally help create more episodes, I’m so in love with these characters and this world I don’t want to let them go!
I won’t go so far as to say I’m a podcast expert, but I do listen to a fair many fiction podcasts (and nonfiction, too) and Dreamboy is by far my favorite. I only started listening to it about a year ago, but I have relistened and relistened and relistened countless times now. The story. The music. The sound design. The characters. There is nothing that I do not love with every fiber of my being about this show. I can’t wait for season 2, whenever that’s coming, and I just want to thank Dane and Ellie for creating such a truly beautiful, moving show. You’re doing wonderful things 🖤🖤🖤
This podcast is so special. Not only is it well written and performed, it captures and expresses the complexity of aspects of life that are too often forgotten in entertainment. I laughed, I cried, and was left begging for more. From the story to the music, this is a masterpiece and has quickly and absolutely become my favorite podcast out there. Bravo!
