I’ve been listening to Leah’s show for a good while, now. I love it. As a leadership coach and spiritual director, Leah and her guests are a regular part of my everyday conversations and quiet ponderings. And joyfully so. Thank you so much, Leah! Keep up the good work!

Maybe a show on aging, 50-55 and over, and how that pulls and pushes one to be who they are. Beauty in aging is possible, it has to be.
I searched high and low for a podcast that I felt connected to and that could help support my quest in bettering my mental health. Leah has become part of my morning routine. Not only does she have a calming energy and amazing insight but she brings on guest speakers that all resonate with me. I’m excited every day to start my speed walks in the park and listen to her podcast.
Each episode challenges you to reflect on life, yourself, your relationships - in a way that feels practical and isn’t overwhelming. Leah is such a skilled facilitator, it feels like she’s just having casual conversations with her friends, who happen to be world-renown thought leaders!!
I love the topics and people you bring on to share their perception of hope in this life. It is powerful, and it makes a difference in my life. May you be blessed with all you need to continue this conversation. Thank you!
The first episode I listened to was about grief and hospice. Before I clicked on it, part of me was, “I don’t have time to listen to anything that talks about death and grief” because I recently lost my dad back in January to a sudden heart attack, he was 43.
However another part of me was said, “why not click on this link and listen to it? Just do some chores while you listen so you’re not wasting time”.
I’m so glad I listened to this podcast.
It’s given me inspiration to grow my life around my grief. I’m going to follow the advice I learned from the podcast: grow the box (my life) bigger so that the Grief ball in the box doesn’t keep pushing on the Pain button that’s also in the box.
I don’t want to end up being apathetic around my kids EVERY day until they move out of the house just because I’m letting my grief and negative throughts take over most of my time and brain energy on a daily basis in the back of my head and not appreciate little things in life.
I now write at least one thing positive that happened earlier in the day and put in a canister I keep by my bedside. That way, if I’m saying to myself one day, “I’ve wasted my life so what’s the point? I’ll just lay in bed all day, “ I can shake the canister and take a positive memory note from it. I’ll probably email a copy of it to myself just in case I lose the canister somehow in a fire haha.
Thank you for creating this episode on grief and the world of hospice.
Love this podcast so much! I love Leah’s thoughtful, curious questioning of everyday issues that we all deal with. I have never listened to an episode where I don’t come away with some inspiration and a little more drive to be better and do better. It’s inspiring and oh, so good! Thank you Leah, and all your guests who share so much of their experiences that are so relatable so we, your listeners, can make our lives just a little better.
Leah’s questions are out of this world, and so are the guests she brings on.
I have been a listener for a long time, and recommend her to friends and family all of the time! Must listen!!
I am so encouraged by your podcasts and the guests you have on them. It’s so refreshing to begin to truly understand how to go about changing our mindset for the better. Your way of asking the questions and getting to the “meat” of each presentation is easy for all to understand. I love listening and will continue to tune in! Your work really helps us be more mindful. Thank you with joy.
Nine out of 10 times I avoid anything to do with self-help. Maybe part of this has to do with the fact that I’m a social worker and the self-care narrative has been very popular in the last couple of years in my profession. but in actuality, I find it to be so nebulous, and so difficult to pin down. Furthermore, what self-help looks like in terms of one’s career is another story. Leah is and undeniably remarkable person, and her genuine enthusiasm, and interesting guests bring self-help to another level— one that benefits me. And that, I can get on board with it. Thank you Leah, for your work, it makes these days of mine improved.
I have yet to tune into an episode that wasn’t necessary for me to hear. I swear by this podcast. It’s so relatable and refreshing. I’m new to the podcast world so this means a lot for me!
I love the show topics of growth, potential and personal development. The host is analytical, thoughtful and smart. I enjoy and learn so much from every episode. I just discovered the show so I’m in full binge mode. I’ve been looking for shows with hosts of different backgrounds to intentionally broaden the content I consume. I especially loved the episodes that explored navigating life and work as a person of color in America.
The topics and guests of all In the Arena episodes are so thoughtful and useful in every day life. You can bring so much of this content to help with marriage, friendship, parenting, business relations, etc. I am a new listener but I am hooked. Highly recommend this podcast to anyone who needs a lift , a laugh or advice in how to communicate things both to yourself and others. Leah (host) is so personable and lovely, I feel like I am having a conversation with her in every episode.
I will confess that Leah is my good friend. And it is undeniable that she has a gift. I know that she’s still defining it, but it’s present in every episode and with every guest. There’s something about Leah. Perhaps it’s her honesty or authenticity or vulnerability. Perhaps it’s all of that and more. But make no mistake: while a good host let’s their guests shine (and here each one does), the best hosts shine alongside their guests. Can’t wait to see where Leah takes all of this wisdom in her future endeavors…
The content and guests are great, but the hostess interrupts them too often and hijacks the show to talk about herself or pretend she is the expert. Hopefully her egocentric habit is corrected soon.
New to the show, Leah has a great energy and is a great podcast host. She let’s things play organically and I enjoyed hearing the Gottman’s knowledge of relationships and how to make them last!
In the Arena is a new favorite in my podcast feed! The conversations are authentic and the guests seem to truly care about being a positive force in this world - the insights they bring to bear help not only create better leaders but better people.
Leah Smart’s weekly podcast has become utility for me - it’s a must listen for anyone who is a lifelong learner both professionally and personally. The range of guests and topics, all centered on the topic of human potential, is broad and compelling. I consistently share her episodes more than any other show - and find that my friends and colleagues from all walks of life resonate deeply with her content.
Leah gently explores the meaning of life and finding one’s purpose. She asks questions and leaves it up to the listener to search for their own answers. Each episode is a treasure.
I really enjoy listening to In the Arena with Leah Smart. If there’s such a thing as a ‘perfect’ podcast host, Leah is it! Incredibly engaging, super thoughtful, and courageously vulnerable. Thank you, Leah, and LinkedIn!
I don’t really think it matters who the guest is, she’ll find a way to pull out what’s tangible and actionable while sharing key parts of her relatable story.
Leah digs deep, asks great questions, and surfaces a lot of inner reflection that many of us feel but are afraid to talk about in our professional lives.
I recently found this podcast and am so grateful and inspired by the conversations and insights shared here each week. The exploration of human potential is more important than ever right now and these discussions really expand and uplift me each week. 👏🏻
Leah’s interviewing style is very conversational, creating a safe space for guests and speakers to open up and be vulnerable about their experiences and learnings.
So much goodness and inspiration and also real talk in this series. I often find myself pausing and replaying parts, because the pearls of wisdom and perspective are so good.
Each and every session is slightly better than the last. I love the upbeat conversations that are always extremely timely and topical to the challenges many people and companies are facing.
I leave every session feeling inspired and always have some great takeaways and insights I'm excited to share in future conversations with friends and colleagues.
I leave Every episode feeling inspired and energized by Leah’s smart questions.
She has a special (intangible) quality of drawing the ‘best self’ out of each of her guests. It makes each listen a worthy and welcoming experience… and I love that she is living proof of the transformations she explores so deftly in her chats. Super!
I love this podcast and how truly Leah connects with her guests. The conversation with Michelle MiJung Kim on her new book “The Wake Up” has so many gems we all need to hear! This is work that impacts all human beings and an important to consider as we all do our part toward a stronger future. 💜
I was today years old when I heard this incredible interview with Bruce, and I am sure I will never be the same, I feel full of hope and light, and most importantly…not alone.
I love all things coaching and self help, so these convos are super juicy for me. With a lot of self-development topics, the host can come across as mightier-than-thou; but Leah is the complete opposite. She is so humble and warm, while still clearly knowing what she's talking about. These episodes make me reflect and allow me to grow as a human being. I also really like how they mix in the professional world with the personal.
These interviews provide juicy nuggets that you can apply for a more successful and healthier life. The interviews are dripping with Leah’s absolute enthusiasm for learning and she finds a way to always extract depth from her guests and peel the onion of meaning.
Incredible podcast if you’re looking for deeply human, delightful and insightful conversations! Leah has done a phenomenal job crafting this safe and brave space for her guests and for us all as listeners. In the Arena continues to deliver “aha” moments with the deep exploration of how we continue the practice of thoughtful self-improvement — our whole, authentic, best selves in both our personal and professional lives.
In the Arena gets better with every listen. I’m inspired by Leah Smart’s questions rooted in curiosity and the desire for growth and meaning —at work and outside of it. A great accompaniment while checking items off a work to do list or getting in some exercise, it’s versatile.
