Reviews For Creative Processing with Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is such a genius. I subscribed to this podcast and also subscribe to HitRECord. He intuitively understands the challenges and processes of creating more than anyone I’ve come across. I’ve just seen the first episodes of Mr. Corman and was in tears. Lolz. He understands how we deny ourselves the ability to be creative. And finds the people who have been successful in breaking through their own personal brick walls.
It’s very open and most of the episodes have great flow and are interesting and funny
Thank you for blessing us Don Jon
Really insightful content, hit record is a great platform for creators and much needed. Thanks joe.
JGL is an excellent interviewer and these episodes are a great resource as an art teacher.
Having always prioritized creativity (but also functioning as a new mom), I needed a creative place to go to still feel like myself. This abstract place had to happen in spurts and bursts of energy (while I also walked our dog along side a stroller). I found such a haven in this podcast. I never would have expected it, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt has provided a go-to creative thinking hub for me on my daily walks. I love the format of tackling one question from creativity seekers around the globe and then exposing them to the thinking behind some highly accomplished original people. The episode with Jessica Alba really touched on some topics I’ve never heard her address so candidly before. I also love the discussion with Madisen Ward and The Mama Bear. Jordan told a moving story about drumming with his brother and it almost made me cry thinking of all the bandmates I've had (one being my now husband). Creativity and family go deep in this household, so I’m glad to have found such relatable conversations on this podcast.
These are very successful people in their own silos. I feel like an outsider in an intimate but slightly superficial conversation. Maybe it’s because the field being plowed is ‘now that I’m successful in my industry, here’s how to take the last step it took to get where I am.’ But thanks, it’s good and cool to have that access, and I hope next year / season will be successful for you. Opening the door to this world is important, and the rating is personal, of how it relates to me, not a larger ‘scheme of things’ or production/ interview statement.
I really liked your film Mysterious Skin. -Les Couchon- 💄🐷🍒👠
Excellent interviews and insights. Inspiring and interesting ideas for creative artists. A nice balance of vulnerable struggles and then also inspiration to stay creative and open.
I love the whole base idea for this podcast! Joe has a great voice and you can tell he is a very kind intelligent person! Your not going to like every guest on every episode, but thats okay! Wait for next week! Episode 1 was my favorite duo so far!
Big fan of this podcast. Really helped me feel lik eI was part of a creative community and explored a lot of interesting questions. Each episode is filled with great insight and information from experts in the creative field. Can't wait for Season Two!!
I am a lover of all sorts of creative endeavors, but I'm unfortunately not surrounded by many creatives in my everyday life. For this reason I felt lucky to have found hitRECord, a welcoming community of creatives with whom I can flex my creative muscles. Listening to this podcast is like having some of those creative friends over for a chat, and it's wonderful. I look forward new conversations and always enjoy learning something new. I've often removed my headphones with new ideas and new viewpoints I hadn't previously considered. Hopefully this podcast continues for many years to come, so others like me who long for creative conversation can find it here. Thank you, Joe! ~beautyofthelake
I can honestly listen to you talk all day. But what makes this great is the structure, the content and the guest. The information provided is top.
As an aspiring actor it’s great to hear the sense of awareness in all aspects of the creative art process. From conception, to collaboration, he’s such a huge influence and glad I found’ed itttt....
I’ve listened to two episodes and have thoroughly enjoyed them both. It’s smart, thoughtful conversations over a question. I didn’t think it would work. I was wrong!
not only was i super pumped to notice not only was one of my favorite actors was making a podcast but additionally about one of my favorite topics of all time?? my expectations were so high that i was nervous that i would disappoint myself but i am constantly hearing nuggets of wisdom i have never read or heard of in any other personal studies of this topic. the discussion joseph is able to create in a raw, honest and open way is the conversation i have been craving from the creative community. i am SO excited to continue listening to all of these episodes and excited for you joseph to grow in this new and amazing way!!! xo
The episode with Seth and Evan is trully enlightening. Thank you!
Very cool an entertaining. Your ability to get into a guests mind and find out what makes them tick to get them out of bed with passion for what they have going; is A gift you have. It takes a creative mind to be abale to understand the depth of your guests. I do have a bit of a cryptic statement that I hope I get a response for... 2005-2007, Coronado, CA, The Little Club. Who was it? Cheers, JGL
I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. I’m a fan of the website The Creative Independent, which often gets into some of the same areas as this podcast, but sometimes leans a bit esoteric. This feels right. The range of guests and the topics they cover are engaging and have made me feel less alone in the questions I ask myself as an artist. Thank you to the team who made this. Please keep them coming!
Thanks Joe, this is absolutely delightful. So much value and really great speakers!!! Recommended to everyone who’s interested in the arts, creation and self-exploration! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love the podcast and the topics covered. The interaction between Joseph and his guests are informal but incredibly insightful. Made my morning commutes a lot more easy, cheers chap!

I’m really enjoying JGL’s podcast! It’s really cool to get a deeper look into how these artists relate to their craft. Looking forward to adding this to my weekly podcast hit list.
Hey hey. Constructive criticism coming your way. Make your review/notes shorter. Too much detail. Consolidate it. I am scanning different podcasts and this one looked interesting(This is my second time ever looking for podcasts... the first time I downloaded one I picked the first to I saw) Anyway - I went and clicked on the “details” button of the first one.. very long...then tried it with two more of your podcasts and the “details” were the same. I I decided against downloading the podcast because I had 0 clue what I was getting into. I didn’t want to read the full story. Less is more. Look at the bigger podcasts as a reference. You could keep it the same length but format them so most people will only read the 1-5 sentences that will capture a download... then your true analysis will come below. Good Luck.
Loving this podcast! Can’t wait for the next episode.
As a podcast lover, this one stands out as fun, intelligent, and educational. I binge listened to all available episodes today. Definitely recommend!
Keep going, really I enjoy with u
This is a great podcast to chew on for days after you listen to it. I feel like it has exposed me to new ideas and perspectives that have been sneaking into my creative process...by somewhat subversively...I like the changes to my work though
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been circling around this kind of project of introspecting on creativity for a while, notably with HitRecord. I for one think that this is the right medium for what he wants to explore — it strips it down to the barest essential of just talking to a fellow creative, allowing the conversation to meander, to land on unexpected topics, and to provide a much more contextual view of how they approach their craft than by simply seeing the final, polished gem. What led me to ultimately write a review was not just how much I enjoyed bringing these conversations along with me on my runs, but also the conversations I hope to hear in the future. I would love to hear Twyla Tharp or Casey Neistat in this setting. It’s early for this podcast but not early in Gordon-Levitt’s exploration of creativity, so this podcast hits the ground running, and I’m looking forward to much more.

Only sorry I can’t write as eloquent of a review for this podcast as it deserves. Give it a listen, and you’ll stay til the end. Each podcast goes in depth on the topic from all angles, never repeating themselves, in a fun conversation that enables you to explore sides of creativity as they explore.

I really like J.Gordon movies, but his interviewing skills are dull. His sinker Ryan J. Super lame! - I was curious to see if he was talking about how he screwed Star Wats for every fan... but no, just a very pale conversation between these 2.

This show needs a producer and editor. The conversation just meanders. With a good producer editor to focus the host, this show would be interesting. But just two dudes talking with not a lot of originality is boring. I'm surprised it got on New & Noteworthy. The irony of a podcast about creativity that lacks it so much.
The whole idea of intertwining imitative thoughts with “the thrill of something you love in order to communicate what’s unique to you,” is so simple when you come at it from the stance, “is originality even a thing?” BUT! Rian and Joseph dove deep into it, with beautiful stories and insight. This was such a mind-expanding breath of fresh air!
So far, so good! I would love to hear from some behind the scene people such as the hair and makeup artists, the stunt people and the people building the sets! So many people don’t realize how many hands and heads it takes to create entertainment. Keep up with the positive inspiration to all of us creatives, big and small, known and unknown. You ROCK!
As expected Joseph is wonderful, and naturally curious. I’m definitely looking forward to another episode because also as expected, Rian was boring, didnt really provide any substance to a question, and laughed his vapid way through it.
Thank you for the inspiring podcast! I feel a part of the dialogue - it is open, honest, inviting. Joseph and his guest(so far one but looking forward to meeting more) don't shy from thinking out loud even if stumbling which makes it even more real and present. I don't come from the field connected to media but I could relate nevertheless because the discussion is wide and humane. Additional thanks for the list of all the references.
Love this new show and all the unique insights it offers. It’s cool to hear from people that aren’t your typical Hollywood celebrities!

Love the idea for the podcast, and Really inspiring to hear about what gets them excited to create!
A great actor & now a great podcaster?! Way to go I’m actually starting a podcast of my own with a friend of mine. She’s a amazing person/ fighter after dealing with a horrific accident. Find “ Our Voices with Lakeisha Daye” P.S. my Dad became a fan after watching the “The Night Before😂” my Mom got hooked after watching 500 days of summer.
Very insightful stuff, can’t wait for more.
What a refreshing take on creativity. I loved every second of it
Man I need this type of pontification on the creative process! Can't wait to hear the next episode Joe!
Always happy to listen to what you have to say! Creatives have to create regardless of recognition. It’s who we are! Thank you for caring 🖤🙂
