Reviews For America Dissected

Always excellent and I always learn something new. Bravo!
Love this podcast! I look forward to the new drop every week. Dr. Abdul is an informed and entertaining host centering his show around many of the critical issues facing America in the 21st century. Great soundtrack too!
Anyone remotely interested in public health should listen to these podcasts regularly. If one is in public health, the show is a masterclass on timely topics. I regularly send the show to my students and to colleagues and practitioners in the field. Onward!
Shame on Crooked, outside of this one episode. Your coverage has been egregious. Politics are comprehensive; everything is connected. Lead us.
Thank you for speaking up in support of Palestinians in no uncertain terms. To put it lightly, I’ve been disappointed in the rest of Crooked Media’s response to the war. Your viewpoint is sorely needed, and I appreciate you for sharing it.
Funny, informative and fascinating. Always a great time - keep it up!
Abdul is such a great voice in this space. He is relatable and knowledgeable. He really tries to get his audience to be able to understand things at a basic level and this is so important! It also says something that many guests end conversations with ‘I really enjoyed having this discussion with you today’. Shows that he is asking the right thought provoking questions no matter the topic. If you want to be more informed on a variety of topics that affect our country and health I highly recommend!
Really superb reporting on relevant public health topics. Been following since mid pandemic but just discovered his book Healing Politics, excellent as well.
Thank you Abdul for your amazing ability to convey somewhat complex information into readily digestible data and anecdotes for everyday humans. One of my weekly faves from Crooked media! Keep up the good work!
Very thoughtful and clear discussions of important public health matters. Learn something (often many things) every episode.
Love the continual intriguing content and subject matters you and your team continue to bring to each and every episode.
Your topic is so important; except my top two are not this. Hopefully this will change!!!
Happy, happy birthday Dr. Kane. Fascinating podcast! Alison Schuback
Love the stories and the depth of each episode. Keep it going my fellow Michgander!!
This is a fantastic show! Abdul is a great host and conveys the science based realities of our current situation with passion and also a calming effect. This is such an important podcast to have in the feed! Thank you to everyone who makes this show possible!
Your have great guests and the discussions are interesting. However, you spend too much time talking about yourself or your experiences. Some is helpful but especially in the episode with Dr. Jordan Metzl you used up too much time telling the listeners about your own sports experiences. I would have liked to hear more from Dr. Metzl who advocates for movement of any kind and how he counsels his patients who want to move but need more support.
Excellent podcast. As a retired public health nurse, I appreciate how Doctor El-Sayed brings core public health principles to these most important podcast topics. Keep up great work. Science matters. We need your expertise and perspectives.👏🏾.
As both a pediatrician who has provided age appropriate medically necessary healthcare to transgender youth for the past 15 yrs and the mother of a now adult transgender son, I so appreciated this episode. Dr Kellan Baker did a wonderful job explaining gender affirming care with compassion and humanity.
The podcast is great and so informative. Abdul is funny, articulate, and so smart. I listen every week.
Best podcast for any MPHer of anyone passionate about public health!
This is such a great podcast. Cooked Media has done themselves a solid by being this information to the public discussion.
Great addition to Crooked Media and to the podcast wiring.
What are the social and medical issues facing our nation? This is where you hear about questions - and answers - that matter.
I listen to this podcast every week. Abdul asks great questions and has great analysis. The guests are always interesting, even if I don’t have a background in the topic. Keep up the great work
yet another dude with a microphone…
I was told to drink less coffee to manage my perimenopause symptoms. The doctor completely ignored the fact that I didn’t start drinking coffee regularly (a few days a week) until well after my symptoms presented, which was well after my hysterectomy. I was told hormone replacement had “debatable outcomes” due to my age (40s). Basically I’m not old enough for treatment, so behavioral therapy is my only option to manage my symptoms. I haven’t seen an GYN since. Why bother?
This was perfect timing for me! I’m going through some degraded quality of life due to perimenopause, and have a Dr appointment later this month. I feel informed and empowered to have a conversation with my doctor about treatment options. Thank you so much.
Always great to listen to. Great interviews and informative.
I listen to this podcast every week to keep informed about the public health landscape. I’m a local church pastor, so this may not seem like a professional necessity, but it is. The social determinants of health also are the social determinants of emotional and spiritual health. My congregation cares about ALL of our neighbors, so we want to know what supports or gets in the way of their wellbeing.
Love the medical aspect of the show. Dr El-Sayed covers a lot of excellent topics related to public health relating that to individuals and systems. He takes a hard look at several issues and is not afraid to call out villains. He really gives me food for thought and offers other resources for reading. The only drawback is that he is a little strong on pushing politics. I don’t think he’s wrong, but it makes it hard to share the excellent content with my more conservatively minded friends. Great show, keep it up!
I listen every Tuesday on my commute to work. I love all the various guests and stories. It’s a great addition to my nutrition/public health training. I tell everyone about this pod!
I’ve learned so much in my past year or two listening to this show. I’m always looking to expand my knowledge of science! Love the love that he has for science. Thank you!
Interesting and informative. Loved the episode on poop!
Super informative. Always well done and an easy listen. Thanks, Doc!
This is such a great podcast for her getting a much deeper understanding of a lot of issues that are going on. Very helpful lesson and Dr. El-Sayed clearly cares so much. Keep the facts coming, Doc! 👏🏻👏🏻
Great show overall AND weight weight don’t tell me was just an amazing episode! nuanced discussion around the complex science of weight /society /health/stigma. Great for sharing
I look forward to listening every week, even when the topic isn’t something I would seek out on my own!
This is a great podcast. I learn something new every episode and the host does a great job of making all the topics interesting and accessible. I really love the wide range of topics and guests.
This is a well presented podcast. Public health is so important.
I love this pod cast and send it to my college and colleagues all the time . Makes me think about health care from a public health standpoint rather than individual health issues. Keep the good work going!
Our society is ill and this podcast is diagnosing the causes. He asked fantastic questions, getting to the heart of the issues.
This podcast is quite interesting with some of the latest information.
I love this Podcast! Each week we get a different health related issue and Dr. Sated explains it in a way that can be understood by all. After every podcast I have some clear facts able takeaways that I can share with others. I feel so much more informed about issues like obesity, CoVID, etc. keep them coming!
Not really like any other Croooked podcast, but still really interesting, well produced, informative! Hard recommendation to everyone
As a retired health professional who sometimes despairs at the changes in the field, I’m thrilled to discover this podcast. Listen and learn! Then, act!
This show is so good. I appreciate the skeptical look at some of the ingrained myths about health and well-being in America. The wellness industry, biases in the medical system, how public health impacts all of us, how misinformation and disinformation spreads…. It’s always fresh and interesting.
I have recently become a massive fan of this podcast. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is a gifted host and interviewer, giving incredibly detailed and relevant background on all subjects covered, asking incredibly thoughtful and thought-provoking questions of guests, and considering all perspectives on a given topic. No matter the topic, Dr. El-Sayed makes it feel relevant to my life and experience, and challenges me to think of how it affects folks with different experiences than mine. Bravo!!
This is one of my favorite podcasts. Abdul always has interesting guests/topics and is a very thoughtful and personable host. He covers lots of complicated topics and boils them down in a way that is easy to listen to. Highly recommend.
