The Price of Football

Reviews For The Price of Football

A well overdue show that covers the greatest mice footballers of all time including Kevin “Mighty Mouse” Keegan and hot prospects Mason Mouse and Mouse Kean.
The Price of Football is a great pod for those interested in the financial side of the sport. Great insight from the hosts answering questions from listeners. Just fantastic.
Looking forward to the pod when Kate Moss cohosts.
Been listening since the start and mainly enjoy it. Kieran takes 2x as long to answer a question as necessary so episodes are longer than need be and they could cover more stuff . Listen on 1.5 speed really helps .
Being a new fan to the sport soccer, I’ve found this podcast quite informative when it comes to learning the ins and outs of financial aspects of the English football leagues. And as an American, I’ve also been able to get a taste of British humor as well as gain some insight into the British football culture. Overall it’s a well done podcast that I enjoy listening to.
I look forward to listening to the pod each week and love the balance of humor, analytics football and even a bit of nonesense. Cheers!
I really enjoy the concept but the complaining is insane. Nothing is ever ok. It is less football finance now and just football headlines. Very sensational.
My wife is an auditor at Deloitte, but understood virtually nothing about what she does until I started listening. Great stuff from both Kevin and Kieran!
A great podcast to understand the money and behind closed doors workings into a club, I’ve been listening for years.
… ‘cos it *does* sound like you are shilling for the agents. Was it from multiple sources, was it complete? was it validated? were the results statistically significant? The Foden example is not a typical case, I’m fact it sounded cherry-picked. You say no one complains … did you talk to club leadership and ownership? Did you ask Pep about Yaya’s agent? Apart from that, love the pod.
Very enjoyable listen - Kevin and Kieran have a very good rapport.
My younger self would be so disappointed that I listen to such a nerdy pod. But I think that’s why I love it, especially when it’s so well presented, with both humor and fact.
Would rather the show be presented by Kieran Maguire and anyone else.
Excellent subject matter and the hosts really make the show.
Covering “the money behind the beautiful game” and advocating for supporters’ interests within it is an invaluable service and something I didn’t know I needed. Highly recommend for those who aren’t afraid to look behind the curtain.
It’s funny, sometimes controversial and always has a good way to look at the another side of football. Appreciate the banter that they have between each other, and the fact that they cover so many different leagues.

It is disturbing really how much I enjoy unwinding on a Sunday evening in the US listening to your podcast. Cheers!
Very Educational if you love ball ⚽️.
Thrilled to listen each week
Fun podcast
I keep listening even though I’d rather it be hosted by Mel Morris and Laurence Bassini. Looking forward to the Pride Park live event so Derby fans can buy them a pint/nice cup of tea they deserve
Beautiful Pod!
I love the show but hate the begging at the end for money and reviews. They say it doesn’t matter what you say but beg for 5 stars. Stop the begging and let the people make up their own mind on a review.
Inside glimpse of the uglier side of the beautiful game.
I’d rather the show be hosted by ME… and Kevin and Kieran… what a dream!
Great pod.

Great pod - though The Rock as host would be much better. 😉
The two fellas have produced a fabulous and long overdue insight into the behind the scenes finances of football. At their request it might be better if it were presented Kate Bush who must sing instead if talking and Basil Faulty
Excellent podcast about the business side of English football. Very informative and the questions they answer really have helped my understanding of the beautiful game.
Rather it was hosted by Kevin Costner and Harry Maguire
Absolutely brilliant for anyone interested in football beyond the 22 players kicking an inflated sheep’s bladder!
This show was presented by any member of bronski beat along with Nadine Dorris. But that’s cool.
Well done mates ! Best football podcast around. Keep it up !
Like talking to two pals
The incessant need to insert leftist nonsense from the so called self titled comedian has been enough to stop listening. More of a clown than comedian. The actual expert is good though.
Terrific
Love this podcast!

Brilliantly genuine and insightful look into the finances of the game. One of my top 5 pods to listen on my commute. Great.
Great insight. Personable.
Kevin and Kieran have brilliant chemistry and with Kevin’s sense of humor and Kieran’s expertise added to the mix, the podcast has become my favorite to listen to on walks. This is a must-listen for anyone who’s interested in football/soccer. Keep up the excellent work!
Love how you guys mix your wonderful senses of humour with so much information about the beautiful game. I might not understand most of the jokes because I'm young and Nigerian but I still anyway. Love it
As an American who is a new fan of a league two club (Exeter city) this podcast has been a great introduction to how things work outside of the premier league.
Having to listen to an ad in the middle of a question is INFURIATING. Either stop and announce the ad or stop asking for money for your “always free pod”
This is a great pod. I also listen to analysts and pundits, but they wear on me fairly quickly (except Guardian Football Weekly). The approach here is unique and fascinating. Frankly I don’t find Kevin as funny as Kevin seems to think he is, but his is a tough task I guess, so no demerits. I hope their discussions remain rigorous and thoughtful. Coming from an academic background I can’t get enough.
Liverpool fan from Boston so this podcast has been a great education in how the business side of the beautiful game works. Great pod
An unhealthy obsession with criticising Derby County, who are a much bigger and better supported club than Brighton or Crystal Palace. For the record Derby County are a fan owned club , a singular fan maybe but a fan who stood on the terraces and has gone through the roller coaster of supporting a team who never fail to disappoint, calling someone who has blown most of his fortune on the club a “wrong un” is just spiteful and malicious, leave it out. BTW I am one of your USA listeners out here in North Carolina
Profitability to a Football Club is like penalty kicks to England.
Kieran and Kevin make finances in football a fascinating topic. I would watch Kieran take part in Love Island.
