My Only Story

Reviews For My Only Story

Well done to Deon and his team!
My neighbor here in Texas recommended we listen to the riveting podcast. Deon’s superb painting with words, the way the investigation is woven into the culture of those elite boys schools is genius. I am terrified to say this but I am almost waiting for Drakensberg Boys Choir school to appear. But I so hope not. Deons bravery in exposing these heinous acts of abuse is astonishing. Even this is a very hard podcast to listen to, the content is so well presented and “logged”. My heart goes out to all those who have had their lives ruined by their abusers. Well done Deon
I hesitate to say this is magical because of the content but it is. This podcast is a work of art. The narrative is compelling. I’m in upstate NY in US so I love the accents. I love the descriptions of the landscape. At the same time my heart aches for the victims involved. This is currently my favorite podcast and is a must listen. Thank you Deon Wigget for your bravery and sharing your gift of storytelling. And thank you JD Wolner for the interview that led me to this oh so very well done podcast.
You guys are doing important and great work. Amazing job and Im listening to all your episodes. Amazing story telling and investigative reporting
What a powerful storyteller with a wonderful voice perfect for storytelling. The narrator presents his excruciatingly sad story with honesty. His choice of words is impeccable. His strength and will to overcome shines bright throughout the entire story. The ending is perfectly uplifting.
Deon is a brave and exceptional storyteller. The content is difficult to listen to but he has a gift with words that has me marveling at his descriptions of some very mundane things. He is also wickedly funny. Something not easily achieved given the subject matter.
Incredible
I’ve just listened to Deon’s first podcast. Wow. What an honest, raw beginning to a story and a very well produced podcast. I could feel Deon’s careful consideration with his word choice and his pain come through so strongly in the retelling of his story. I hope this podcast brings him healing and a further understanding and peace with himself. I look forward to listening to more as he takes this journey and story public.
