The Lisa Congdon Sessions

Reviews For The Lisa Congdon Sessions

I love Lisa’s honesty and thoughtful approach to life and the business of art. Thanks Lisa for sharing your journey, your wisdom and the joy in your life. Follow Lisa on instagram to see her amazing artwork!! ❤️
I learned a lot from Lisa’s early episodes focusing on her own life and career and advice to creatives, and I wasn’t sure I’d get as much from the interview format she’s doing now, but I’ve been so pleasantly surprised. Her guests bring such warmth and individuality to the table. Just when I think there are no new insights left about the creative journey, I hear one of these episodes and just have an art-friend-crush.
Love hearing Lisa’s and the interviewees’ perspectives on business, art, and human-ing!
Thank you Lisa for sharing yourself so generously with us. I’ve been making art for over 30 years and the pearls of wisdom you have placed here are really helping me see the path forward. Blesssssss
It’s obvious Lisa puts extraordinary effort in covering salient topics and finding guests that are authentic and truly care about being a positive force in this world - the insights they bring to bear are still mind-blowing every. single. time.
This podcast would be so much more enjoyable with better sound quality. The content is great but Lisa sounds like she's at the bottom of a well.
Lisa is a total pro! She interviews diverse guests who have important values and I find this podcast very energizing. It encourages self-discovery and I look forward to new episodes! With age comes wisdom, and you can tell Lisa puts a ton of thought into her episodes. Highly recommend!
I have followed Lisa’s work for a long time. This podcast is just her latest adventure and so helpful to all creatives. Very timely and relevant.
I love your podcast, and I love that you just interviewed one of my other favorite podcast hosts, Jonathan Fields, of The Goodlife Project. Many thanks!
Smart , interesting and funny . Love this podcast and love Lisa !
This is one of the most insightful and inspiring podcasts that I have ever come across! Lisa does such a great job of sharing her wisdom and I love how she leads meaningful conversations with guests who bring so much experience to the table. Highly recommend checking this show out - you won’t be disappointed!
The sound quality on several podcasts is terrible. Sitting in a closet is not sufficient. Especially in Manzanita. Perhaps a better microphone? Find someone who works with sound. There are many brilliant recording engineers in Portland. For me, the sound quality is a distraction from your content.
I’ve enjoyed Lisa’s podcasts, and especially loved her conversation with Jen Hewett. You may or may not be an artist, but the content of these podcasts are so applicable to our lives in general. Thank you, Lisa!!
Hi Lisa, I follow Jen on Instagram and was curious about this Podcast (I’m new to the podcast world). I wanted to say that I absolutely loved it! So insightful, I admire Jen’s work, but I so much more admire her as a person more now listening to her talk about boundaries! In this world of Instagram, as a woman in my 60’s, learning a craft in my late 50’s as a stress relief, I too struggle with things I post and strangers asking personal questions and what I’m willing to reveal, so it was so insightful to hear you both as professional artists to talk about how important it is to set boundaries! I look forward to listening to more of your podcasts! Btw, I also moved to the Portland area 6 years ago from the Bay Area! I love it here and would never entertain the idea of going back to California! Thank you for your Podcast!
The Lisa and Jen episode! I have been following them both for years - taking in-person classes, reading all the stuff. I thought I might have already heard it. I just learned so much. So many great points made. So many times I though “I gotta write that down”
Lisa shares so much creative goodness! Thank you for the endless inspiration!!!
I absolutely love your new podcast. Thanks for what you do and for being such an inspiration to the creative community. Much gratitude and love. 🤗🙏❤️
Lisa really gets to the heart of the challenges creatives face and offers great, actionable advice for coping and maintaining sanity. She is full of positivity, yet very real and humble. Through her own story and transparency she inspires trust, and I am looking forward to listening to more and more of this podcast!
Lisa Congdon’s art fills me with a sense of optimism, positivity, wonder, and clarity, and her podcast does too. Congdon offers guideposts, tips, worthwhile stories, and other gifts to aspiring artists - all grounded by her authenticity and unique perspective. This has immediately become one of my favorite podcasts.
I’ve just heard the first episode of what I can tell will be an amazing podcast. Lisa’s words of experience are the perfect shot of reassurance that we can discover ourselves and connect with our dreams no matter when or how. I’ve always loved arts, since I was kid, but I always denied my self the opportunity to go for it because I wasn’t good enough or many other excuses. Now I’m a mom of a 2 year old toddler & unemployed. I have very little hours to dedicate to my dream, but if do and I will keep going! I still need to discover who I am fully, it listening to podcast like this, it’s always powerful! Thank you Lisa! Beca Koblick de León
I love this you are so good at teaching art
Thank you Lisa for this podcast. I just listened to episode 5 and ready to apply the information from your podcast and do some analyzing of my art in order to figure out my voice. Since I am a self taught creative I am unsure of what my voice is and what I really want to say. I started creating art as a way to relieve stress and boredom in my life. I have so much to learn and Lisa's podcast will help me to sort out my thoughts and what I want to convey to my audience.
Thank you Lisa for sharing what you’ve learned with us! As a self-taught creative, I find your podcasts inspiring and encouraging!! Incredible information in each episode! Thank you!! Looking forward to the next one!
I was expecting this to be a fun podcast to listen to, but I wasn’t expecting it to feel like the big hug I needed. I’m always checking for a new episode. I feel so encouraged and inspired by Lisa. So grateful she started this!
I’ve been drawing my whole life. in art art school as a kid, graphic design in a grown up art school. I’m now struggling with making art for myself, not client based. it’s like I have to justify, make use of it, get feedback. this evaluation or some other force is preventing me from creating from my heart. I hope desire comes back or the transformation that needs to happen will clear the way for something else. thank you for speaking about this 💜
This podcast is amazing and just what my creative brain needed right now. I can’t wait to listen to more. It’s inspirational, it’s practical, it’s helping me realize that where ever I am in my creative journey that’s ok. It’s like a soothing tonic. I can’t wait for more! Thank you Lisa for sharing your story. It’s so inspiring.
I’m currently stuck in a creative mid-life crisis and need help. I’ve scoured the internet listening to _everything_ and have struggled to find voices that are actually helpful. Finding THIS podcast was like discovering my Creative-Fairy Godmother. Appreciate the practical down-to-earth advice to navigate the wildness of the creative path. I am deeply grateful that Lisa shares honestly and vulnerably and welcomes everyone to the table. Highly Recommend.
Episode 3: Practice is exactly what I needed to hear today as I am trying to create a daily art practice habit. Thank you, Lisa! ❤️
Thank you for all of it! You just saved me from an “episode”. Inspired!❤️
I have already listened to the first 3 episodes twice. Lisa is brilliant, creative and incredibly generous with her experience. Lisa’s story has already improved my daily art practice, and more importantly my belief in what is possible. Ten stars.
I enjoyed listening to your podcast. I found out you and I share the same birthday. Thanks for being so open about your story, as a creative person I love hearing other creative journey.
I love hearing more about Lisa’s past and how that has shaped her. Excited to listen to future episodes.
I am so excited about this podcast! I just finished listening to the first two episodes and I’m feeling so joyful and also on the verge of tears. Lisa shares her story so beautifully and I’m grateful for all of the truth and insight she is so generously giving. Can’t wait for more!
I loved every minute of this. Wildly it mirrors my own story soooo deeply. Unique to Lisa but so resonant from life process of self discovery that I am still so deeply navigating to get to the full expression of my essence. Thank you. This was so validating and thrilling. I can’t wait for more.
I’ve loved both episodes! Lisa does a fantastic job of entertaining you while letting you connect to her story with her vulnerability and raw honesty. I’ve purchased her latest book and absolutely love it! It will be one of those books that I pick up and turn to a random page for whatever inspiration I need that day. Can’t wait to hear more of these podcast episodes!
Love your message. I’m an artist and appreciate your encouraging words.
Thanks, Lisa, for sharing YOUR story. I’m inspired as I am rediscovering my art after burying it for nearly 30 years. I know it’s my calling but I feel, yes, like an imposter. I’m working through finding my style (finding it so hard to find/focus in on, a real struggle!) and what my goals are. What I do know is that I have to keep creating art to feel and be myself. Thank you! Leslie Summers-Day
I’ve been following Lisa’s work for about 5 years now, and I got the chance to meet her at the Letterwest Conference in Utah, and again in San Francisco at her book signing. She has truly found herself through her art and it radiates out of her like a million stars. I can’t wait to follow along with this podcast, and learn from her and her guest speakers. I really enjoyed her storytelling in the first episode about her experiences growing up and about her journey to where she is now. I can’t recommend this podcast enough! Yay, Lisa! ~fellow artist @heatherslettering
Professional and well spoken, Lisa is easy and enjoyable to listen to. She sounds like she’s been doing theirs for years! I especially loved hearing more about her pre artist days. Thanks for sharing your life and work with us Lisa! Can’t wait to hear future episodes.
So excited Lisa has her own podcast now! I’ve been listening to her interviews on other casts religiously for about a year now and always love her advice, insight and wisdom. This first episode knocked it out of the park - can’t wait for the next one. ❤️
