Toxic: The Britney Spears Story

Reviews For Toxic: The Britney Spears Story

I didn’t realize how deeply Britney was wronged and we all should listen to these ladies’ coverage! Please keep us updated!!
Appreciate all the info but episode 3 talking about Britney consummating her marriage in the limo and the “climax” joke was super hypocritical of you all and I’m so disappointed.
Amazingly done, girls. Thank you for shedding light on the truth. WE LOVE YOU BRITNEY!
Listen to this podcast. Please, I beg of you, get informed. Find out what is really happening. Then? Blare the alarms. Do something.
I feel honored to be included on the podcast as an example of greedy family taking advantage of still capable persons. As a parent I wanted to get along with my kids so I trusted them to be supportive of me. Same as children who expect a parent to love and protect them. But if there is money there may be greed, during a lifetime or after death with division of an estate. I’ve known too many seniors who are taken advantage of. Just as we need to report child abuse, we need to watch for Senior Abuse. These podcasts are informative to types of abuse: financial, medical, social, even control of one’s own body. I have sent the podcast to friends and family that support me. They are all pleased with the results though revealing some details are difficult. The family is broken. I’m at peace.
Great episodes that are well written, excellent audio quality, and engaging story telling. Highly recommend
Thanks so much to the whole team that made this mind-blowing podcast. It’s about so much more than one celebrity. I especially loved the Chris Crocker bonus and the guest in Episode 9 - she reminded me so much of my own elderly Mom. Just lovely work all around, ladies. ❤️
You two have managed to turn this 50 something guy who couldn’t care less about Britney Spears into a one who can’t wait for Britney to regain ownership of her own life, marry, and have all the babies she wants to have. I had no idea what a brilliant, talented, and tenacious professional she is. I didn’t know what a good and tender mom she has been to her children while being abused, violated, and taken advantaged of for 13 years. I didn’t know how unjust, inhumane and archaic conservatorships are and how many millions of people are allowed to die in them. I didn’t know that by the end of this podcast, I would be writing a comment, wishing Britney a future of happiness and her father a future rotting in jail. I don’t know. But now I know, thanks to this amazing podcast you two put together so masterfully! Bravo!
First off, confession: Never really been a fan of Britney Spears’ music. But her life, her rise to mega-fame and her humble attitude is an interesting story. I think she is a beautiful person inside & out. I have been listening to the pod since the beginning and it is fascinating. You are both very good journalists, and you’ve managed to have the best show on this subject. There are a few out there and they tend to be less serious reporting and more about gushing fans. I watched it he “Framing Britney Spears” documentary and I have to say I have a re-newed respect for her. In my opinion, it was not always flattering but it was the truth. She is a great dancer and her music is pretty catchy. She has been thru so much and I hope she gets everything she wants! Thank you for this deep dive!
Hands down one of the best produced podcasts I’ve listened to. Tess and Babs did a phenomenal job researching and interviewing and digging to find the truth. Well done!
Love how they take a look at the system as a whole, especially learning that the #FreeBritney movement also works to free others. This had me in tears several times.
It’s the entertainment story every 30 year old has been wanting to be on the inside of for 20 years! It’s eye opening and heartbreaking but at the same time hopeful. Together we can mend a broken system. #FreeBritney
I honestly knew little to nothing about Brit’s conservatorship beforehand. After listening, I have fully hopped aboard the #FreeBritney train. This podcast is so engaging and shocking. They really did their legal research, which I appreciate. If you like Serial, you’ll love this one!
Let’s do this: #FreeBritney
My podcast consumption is 94% true crime, or similar, and I prefer to steer clear of ALL unnecessary banter or commentary in what I choose to listen to. That being said, I really enjoyed this podcast and looked forward to new episodes each week. Entertaining, but not vapid. I’m bummed it is ending just as the Britney’s case is ramping up.
Thank you ladies for such a great podcast! I learned so much, not just about Britney, but about how the legal system works… or doesn’t work in situations like this. Great work!
Babs and Barker have fabulous chemistry. Their series on Britney was compelling from beginning to end. Can’t wait for their next series. There better be one!
This is seriously an important podcast, and not just about Britney, but of how twisted & terrifying our legal system is. The truth about the shameful and, what should be an illegal system, rings of Cold War, communistic behavior. Can NOT believe this is happening in America. It is truly horrifying and scary. The details, fact checking, and expert witnesses makes this a comprehensive and excellent pod cast. This is not just a love letter, fan based podcast. This is serious journalism and I have shared it with so many people. Even those who are not necessarily Britney fans, because this is vital information. There needs to be extreme and immediate reform in the legal system regarding conservatorships! #freebritney! And my heart tears apart for Britney. Jamie Spears and those around him should all be sued and made to pay for what they did!
I heard an ad for this podcast right about when I was starting my deep dive into the Britney conservatorship saga. This in-depth look is very thorough, and will start some very important conversations about how and why conservatorships exist, and how a beloved pop icon is finally, hopefully, liberating herself from a prison of her father’s making.

I look forward to the episodes and am now the person in the room who defends Britney to the end.
Britney is going to treasure this 💝 #FreeBritneyBitch 🗣✊🏽💖
I’ve been a longtime fan of Tess

This podcast is so eye opening to me as someone who likes Britney’s music but wasn’t familiar with her life or her situation beyond that, nor conservatorships. The level of depth and info shared here is so damning of the people surrounding her conservatorship and absolutely heartbreaking. And knowing this type of abuse happens to many? Unbelievable and unacceptable. Appreciate this podcast for bringing light to Britney’s situation and shining a light on the problems with conservatorship laws and horrible abuse that too many endure.
Comprehensive and specific, this podcast Wade’s thru an ocean of information to break Spears’ conservatorship into digestible chunks for the listener. I wish the episodes were even longer and more detailed. I want more. Xox
In godney we trust
This is definitely not a investigative journalistic piece. This is just a rehashing of the information which is out there already with some commentary with people who are not related to the case. In some ways it’s interesting but could be better if the pod had more access to things we don’t already know.
It’s hard to find a podcast that makes you want to listen even if it’s taking about a topic that you are actually interested in. There’s always certain specific vibe or structure to a podcast that makes me want to keep listening and these girls did just that! Great job with this podcast! Looking forward to riding along with them with this #freeBritney movement!!
All the way from Charlotte NC , I am here for it ladies! Love everything you two ladies are doing keep up the good work

Wow! Great podcast.. I am in shock! #FreeBritney
Well done and SO NECESSARY
Way to go girls. I have nothing but love and support for the both of you!
SO bummed! way to scripted and inauthentic. The old one was a million times better. I appreciated what they are trying to do for the cause. ut please just keep it real!!! I hope they read the feed back as there is a consistent theme
I am in this profession (estate admin/guardianship), however I am located in another state. Hearing about the differences between the laws in California and where I am located very interesting. That being said, the hosts need to be more clear that's what they are speaking about is specific to the state of California. There are many similarities in this type of law, but also many aspects that vary depending on what state that the guardianship/conservatorship/estate is located, so The information this podcast should not be presented as universal truth. There are times when they distinguish between the two, but more often they do not. Otherwise, a very interesting and moving listen.
Great story telling ladies! Thanks for all the details on this story! Jackie Gifford
I find this eye opening and very Interesting in terms of what can go on behind closed doors, legal or not. Quite shocking really. I am not a Britney fan - much too old for that, however, that is irrelevant to the story being unfolded here. The fact that a person capable of working as hard as Britney does and also be deemed to be in need of a conservatorship without having voice in who does what is a very dangerous situation that we all need to pay attention to whether we’re familiar with Ms. Spear’s music or not. Any nagging about included bias, the hosts being judgmental or having liberal leanings is full of cry baby stuff. This is a podcast for God’s sake! If you’re looking for straight journalism, go to the New Yorker or the WA PO and know the difference between an editorial, an opinion column and a news article - and you should also understand the difference between analysis and straight news. It is obviously ignorant to judge anything without taking into consideration the purpose or intent of what you are judging. Get off the soap box!
They do a great job conveying all the info from Britney’s conservatorship! I love listening!
I have been listening to Babs and Tess since the BritneyGram pod. I remember the evening they posted the episode on the voicemail. Since then, I have been intensely following the FreeBritney movement and I am amazed at how far it's come. Babs and Tess.... you ladies did this. YOU. I'm sure it hasn't been easy, maybe sometimes scary, but y'all should be so proud of yourselves. This podcast is fantastically done. Anyone who now asks me what's up with "free Britney" I send them here. Thorough, unbiased, investigative, well-done... Rosengart should just hire y'all now. Bravo ladies, bravo.
This podcast is horribly done. It provides no new information and is hosted by two Britney superfans who clearly have never grown up. They make it abdundantly clear why they are failed comedians and it's asinine that one of them has the gall to call herself an investigative journalist. If you have an IQ in the triple digits this is not the podcast for you. Hopefully somebody intelligent and mature decides to do a podcast about the Britney Spears situation someday.
Fantastic podcast!

Very well done
This time, with extra feeling and facts, facts, facts! I loved “Britney’s Gram.” I felt like I found my soul sisters, who were able to ponder and also laugh hysterically at the enigma that was, is, and always will be Britney Spears. She eludes all. However, when they restarted the #FREEBRITNEY movement, they caused a worldwide frenzy to remove Britney from her conservatorship. For such a long time, I was against it, and saw the sadness in Britneys eyes. I still bought the CDs, but never went to the shows (went to 6 of them between 2000 and 2004, though). Boycotted in my own way, knowing how she didn’t want to be doing this for anyone but herself. She didn’t need to! And now, this podcast is reminding me of all the injustices done against our B girl. It’s heartbreaking, it’s life affirming, it’s hopeful. I hope that change will be made. I pray that those who have done this to our girl will be brought to justice and jailed for a long time. Thank you, both. Thank you for keeping on even when it got tough. You’re two beautiful lights, illuminating the gross injustice being done to our dear Britney.
Episode 6 and 7, mic drop. Amazing!!! Thanks for bringing light to her conservatorship.
I’ve been listening to Tess and Babs since Britney’s Gram, and it’s so cool to have watched them evolve from fans with a comedy show about her instagram to investigative journalists and leaders of a massive movement that is directly changing our girl Britney’s life for the better. #FreeBritney

I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast as it exposed serious is abuses in conservatorships. This is work that needed to be done and was incredibly put together even though it was seriously maddening! As for Britney Spears, I feel terrible for her and I am disgusted with the court system. Her father and his associates in this matter should be and likely will be brought up on charges at some point. Great work, and I hope this helps to change the laws.
You ladies are doing such good work for the free Britney movement. I cannot stop listening this podcast. Mind blowing facts and excellent research! Keep up the great work!

Great gathering of information!!
This is phenomenal. They present facts and let you draw your own stomach turning & spine tingling conclusions. This whole situation is so awful.
I have been a big fan of Babs and Tess since I first heard their other podcast, Lady to Lady. When I found out they started another show about Britney’s Instagram I was elated, and became hooked immediately. I heard the voicemail that kicked off the whole Free Britney movement, so I had to check this one out as well. All I can say is, “WOW!” These women have put in so much work to provide us with a detailed and comprehensive look into what’s going on with Britney’s conservatorship and they share so much information that the public would never know if it weren’t for the investigative prowess. Thank you ladies.
