There is so much hot air, nonsense, and spin in American news today. This podcast is so refreshing in that it discusses important topics without being preached to or being told how to interpret the topic. Well done!
It’s like listening to MSNBC drivel non-stop. I say that as a Democrat for over 50 years. The bias on this show is shocking even by today’s meager journalistic standards. The interviewer and interviewees are often idealistic, Pollyanna ignoramuses. Talks on the environment give little play to views other than those discussed on the show as fact. The anti-Israel bent is clear and disappointing. In one show about the Israel-Palestinian issue, the “journalist” makes dozens of unsubstantiated claims well beyond his experience and wisdom - “a negotiated peace is the only solution.” Really? Has that worked over the last 75 years? What is his support? In another show, the guest opines about legal issues without an understanding of our federalist system. The interviewer has no sense to ask more probing questions or to challenge the guests whom she treats with reverence, not skepticism. The show is a big zero which contributes to misinformation which, in turn, causes bad policy and loss of lives.
This dude goes “IDK how it will end” - - Uhm how about NOT attacking and taking someone else’s land. How about Israel stops all settlements. Thats the best and only case. PALESTINIANS were there first! Hamas are freedom fighters.
I really appreciate the way Apple handles issues both on the news as well as the weekly “In Conversations”. The coverage is nuanced without being overdone.
Great show that discusses what you need to know in interesting areas that may not otherwise be covered. Wish it would be a little more politically centered though.
An unimpressed woman judging the world.
I guess she is an archetype of the new woman. Her countenance matches what the show is. A liberal woman’s opinion on the world. Let me save you some time what the episodes are about: Liberals = good guys. Conservatives = bad guys. Can we please get some diversity of thought!
I’d give this show an extra star if the host would smile for the show photo.
When this show started it definitely leaned to the left, but now they have gone all-in on it. Everything from subtle things like the background music and soundbites chosen to blatant things like the recent coverage of the presidential primaries and debates. On the main show, they had a daily in-person report from the Democratic convention, followed by a half-hour “In Conversation” episode focusing exclusively on how they’re trying to get Kamala Harris elected. Then they gave glowing reviews to her debate “win,” praising her for getting under Trump’s skin as a way of dodging tough questions about immigration and the economy. Meanwhile the coverage about Trump was that his handlers are just trying to keep him on-script and not do anything stupid. The bias is staggering. Where was the daily report from the Republican convention? Where was the coverage of Biden and his handlers as he repeatedly faltered in appearances and debates? Where was the In Conversation episode talking about the effort to get Trump elected? Do better.
I jump into the episode as soon as it’s available. This podcast is so well written and structured that I cannot get enough. Thank you for such a great journalism!
Why should I listen to this episode and now take advice from a person who got scammed. What she fell for is so stupid and so common sense. She really should be ashamed and stop writing a financial column.
I listened to two episodes of Brian hosting, and I could not be happier with the podcast. He is a great talent, and you would be lucky to have him. Quite frankly, you can give him his own show, and I will definitely subscribe.
Please consider interviewing Conservative voices. There are millions of conservatives in the US, whose viewpoints are definitely not represented by the likes of Rachel Maddow, Tom Hanks and the Dwight Schrute guy. How about interviewing eg. Megyn Kelly? Or James Woods? Or Tucker Carlson? Or Ben Shapiro? Why not?
I love the show, and the voice of the presenter and all of the content but this photo is not consistent with who she appears to be and what the program is all about. The photo looks smug, I hope you can consider changing it.
Champions left-wing extremism and demonizes what is traditional. May the influence of this podcast diminish in the ears of its audience until it seeks to find a genuine balance.
I enjoyed the episodes discussing Rainn Wilson’s book “Soul Boom” and Elizabeth Keating’s book about interviewing family. They reminded me of the importance of turning your heart towards family and the lessons I’ve learned from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Begging you on my knees to stop the electronic noise your producers call "the music bed." 1. It's not music, it's electronic jingle jangle. 2. It's not entertaining, it's noise. 3. If your content and delivery alone cannot engage your audience how is the electronic beepy-boop going to help?
Just please stop it.
I’m listening to this interesting conversation between two young women, one pregnant and one with a youngster as a 50 year old with teenagers. I’m enjoying it. However, I am really struck by the failure of the United States to support motherhood, and the simple fact that mothers give up their careers and also can’t even get four hours of sleep is frankly disgusting. That’s how little we value mothers. We need to compensate for the horrors of capitalism through leadership.
While it’s true that there is, sadly a debate going ok with reading instruction- your article/podcast was so limited and like so many others, missing information. First - do the author take the time to REALLY know what balanced literary is? Part of the balance in balanced literacy IS PHONICS. No one who UNDERSTOOD balanced literacy ever downplayed the role of phonics -that’s part of the balance!!!
Next, when you talk about the George Bush NRP- and the “reading first” program you failed to mentioned the data that there was no significant improvement shown by using a phonics approved on reading outcomes. No one likes to mention this fact, that statistically phonics only programs do not equate to a one size fits all, everyone reading program! That is hidden! That’s so irresponsible on the part of the reporter!
As we consider brain research, we can learn how to shift the balance and make sure our methodologies include strong phonics foundations especially at the earliest levels .but we don’t discount the other pillars needed.
This issue is so so much more complex than blaming the amount of reading problems on curriculum.
Love this podcast with Anderson. It speaks to my own experience after losing the love of my life - my husband, cutting-edge sculptor, poet and game inventor, James Klever. It’s called The Ten Gifts Of Grief (under my pen name, Hawthorne Wood) (Amzon).
That was a great podcast, but is anyone listening? Some of us have been thinking about and working on climate change for decades, but what’s it going to take to get critical masses to stop, listen and act? Are we literally the boiling frog or can we wake up in time? Podcasts like this are really important, but is it enough? Is it a broad enough audience? Kudos to the producer and please, give us more and make it as relatable for the masses as possible so we can overcome the polarization of the culture wars.
I love this pod cast the conversation pieces are so informative and interesting. The truth and sincerity catches my attention from
The beginning. Thank you
