I hate feeling like I’m the only one who doesn’t know what’s going on when everyone’s talking about sports so this show was exactly what I needed - it’s really for the girlies and wow I like sports now??
Absolutely loving Well Played! The hosts do a fantastic job breaking down the latest sports news with a fun and relatable twist. It's the perfect blend of informative and entertaining, making it easy to stay updated on all things sports. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy their sports news with a side of wit.
This is a fun show that is keeping me well informed about a topic I don’t usually know much about. Sports journalism is usually so closed off to female fans/viewers/listeners. Looking forward to keeping up with this pod!
I may be a bit biased because I love the hosts, but Well Played has been a breath of fresh air. Sports talk is usually too serious and full of hot takes, but theSkimm keeps it light and fun. I find myself recapping their convos with friends after finishing each episode. Keep it up!
candidly I do not care about sports. I wish I was a sports girlie but I really am not. sue me. I saw this podcast come thru in the weekend skimm and was definitely drawn in by the branding but the conversations were super funny, I was surprised tbh! the shows I used to listen to from theSkimm never had two hosts so this was a surprising dynamic, looking forward to more.
Clicked on this from the newsletter by chance, I’m not even really much of a sports fan. I learned so much within the first few minutes of the show, a great mix between sports talk and sports goss. I also really loved the chemistry between the two cohosts! Looking forward to more episodes!
I keep up with the NFL and am a casual fan of other sports, just so that I can hold a convo with my brothers and husband. But this show actually makes sports content entertaining, and the host dynamic is charming and hilarious. I want to hang out with Blake and Amanda!! Definitely recommend, 10/10.
Canceling this is a major loss to the Skimm catalog of podcasts. This is by far the best one and the only one that doesn’t give me white girl vocal fry. 😵💫
Why is this ending?! 😭 Did it not get enough investment and support?! It really should have. It was nice and refreshing way to look at pop culture. I hope something close to this comes back.
This was such a great show - Armstrong did a fantastic job. Touched on a multitude of topics with sophisticated levity and insight. A perfect balance to the daily slug of the news. Truly disappointed and annoyed TheSkimm did not continue with this great production.
How can you trust a podcast focused on current events when they endorse pseudoscience? Inviting “professional” astrologers without explaining the facts is so irresponsible.
I like hearing the deeper connections pop culture has to other societal issues and bias, I think everyone should give it a listen. Maybe if they got a cohost they could do more discussing about issues than interviewing. I think it could be a nice change of pace for some episodes or even to help those that feel the show is too biased to the left. Either way, still love the show
I really wanted to like this podcast. I’ve been an avid skimm fan for many years and I feel like their quality is just slowly declining, and this podcast illustrates that. I just wish every single episode didn’t have a political slant. I tend to lean left myself, and fully agree racism needs to be talked about and addressed, but it’s such a heavy theme in every single episode it just makes the podcast not what it is advertised as, so a little less enjoyable.
Love that each ep of this pod gets into the bigger picture and societal implications of the pop culture stories my friends and I are already thinking and talking about!
Obviously slanted to support a single view of what’s happening in the world rather than *actually* exploring these issues. I’ve been a daily reader of the Skimm for years now and was wildly disappointed listening to this.
Doesn’t cancel, speaks to the nuance of being people of multiple identities. A much needed thoughtful perspective into the way life reflects pop culture and vis versa. Plus, it’s entertaining and well done!
great show. it’s really frustrating how people have no problem listening to white women talk about pop culture ALL day, but they have a problem listening to a black woman. smh i’m so over you people. we can see right through you and your mess. if you don’t wanna listen then don’t listen. I’m happy to support and will continue to listen to this podcast weekly
The information is interesting, but felt biased and had an agenda. While the women in these stories have been treated awfully, a news program would tell me how to help if I wanted to, not tell me I should. Will this be held up to the same standards as the daily Skimm? I don’t consider skimmed from the couch/9-5ish news, but less biased than this program.
