The episode with Ben Berman is a true gem! It explores the dynamic world of creativity and parenting, offering a fresh perspective on balancing the two. Ben's insights on the creative process while being a parent are invaluable. If you're an artist or a parent (or both!), this episode is a must-listen.
This podcast kept me writing poetry even when I was overwhelmed with a new baby, the tail end of the pandemic, and all the isolation that came with that. Kaitlin Solimine provides thoughtful, insightful, and compassionate hosting, and her guests’ wisdom and experiences makes me feel like part of a larger network of creative mothers. This podcast keeps me afloat!
As someone who doesn’t consider themselves an artist in the traditional sense, I get so much value from this podcast. I so appreciate hearing smart, strong, intelligent women (like the host Kaitlin Solimine and guests like Namrata Poddar) discuss working as a mom both in the home and outside of the home, and managing being a working mom in a highly patriarchal socially in a world littered with systemic racism and antisemitism.
As an early mother to a young child, I cannot recommend enough the Postpartum Production podcast. It’s the *only podcast I know that talks about new and early stages of motherhood with mothers who are also creatives and often working remotely, which makes parenting both challenging and very Covidian, 21st century phenomenon! Kaitlin Solimine, the host, is amazing and also brings thought-provoking questions and comments to the convos, not to mention a fab roster of guest-speakers. Highly recommend.
Kaitlin’s well thought out questions and commentary are a testament to her intelligence and creativity.
I love feeling connected through our shared vulnerabilities. The guests and host are all so inspiring!
Great job!
Within minutes (dare I say seconds?) of listening to the Postpartum Production podcast, I felt totally seen. Kaitlin shares such important, inspiring conversations that have already helped me articulate so many of the complicated feelings I have as a woman and as a parent. I do believe what I learn from this podcast will help me in my every day life, in all the work that I do for my family and community.
This podcast captures the wide spectrum of the postpartum experience! It tackles the realities of primary parenthood and the mundaneness and joy of those early years while trying to also get some work done! Kaitlin asks her guests surprising questions that you don’t hear on other podcasts, and it brings the conversations places that are surprising, even to the guests, creating an intimate experience for the reader, which feels just right for a pod about the postpartum world.
Congratulations to Kaitlin and the team for exploring such a complex topic. I’ve never experienced so many emotions (many competing) at the same time with such little navigation tools.
An insightful and intelligent perspective on the always seemingly impossible female balancing act of maintaining self whilst mothering mix.
Kaitlin Solomine - Congratulations on this thought provoking and inspiring podcast.
I love the candid tone and vulnerability of this podcast. Thank you for opening a conversation about balancing creative work with motherhood. You’re uncovering truths long ignored.
As a mother, writer, full time worker, person longing for a community with which to have these conversations, I was thrilled to find Kaitlin Solimine’s podcast. Postpartum Production gives me access to a community of thinkers that I do not encounter regularly enough in real life, but am always inspired to encounter online. Thanks, Kaitlin, for this invaluable resource.
This podcast raises so many important questions and initiates so many essential conversations around the realities of postpartum in the the lives of women in creative fields. We need to be having these conversations more broadly as a society in order to ensure that the emotional, psychological and financial well-being of families, mothers and their children are supported to the fullest.
Such a wonderful perspective for parents! Listening to this podcast provides the spark that parents need as they grapple with the realities of caregiving and the desire to contribute to the world creatively, professionally, and as an individual.
While I’m not an artist, these interviews really spoke to me and would speak to anyone who is trying to manage caregiving along with non-caregiving work that is meaningful to them. Motherhood has brought up so many unexpected questions, conflicts, memories, and facets of my personality, and to hear that complexity reflected back at me so thoughtfully has been much needed, and all too rare.
This podcast is a labor of love and it shows! The host Kaitlin is engaging and thoughtful. We need more conversations like these discussing the important work that mothers do in our society and do not get enough credit for. Can’t wait for more episodes!!
A bold, inspirational and necessary podcast for mothers, mothers-to-be, and anyone looking to broaden their wisdom around this most precious phase in life: motherhood. Listen to this podcast to grow individually and help those you love grow too.
As a mother and writer, I'm really feeling this podcast. It's everything. The conversations are revelvant and so important. Kaitlin has such real and honest sense of all the ways the cultural conversation is changing for women (these topics are what most of my friends are interested in right now) and she asks such profound questions of her guests. It's thought-provoking and inspiring. I cannot recommend it enough.
This podcast has lit a fire in me to continue creating and take my art seriously. Every episode I've listened to thus far was charged with a power I can't quite articulate, but very much need as a writer who is also a mother to young children. My transition to motherhood, specifically postpartum, woke up a side to my creativity and the work I produce, and I have yet to see a space where this truth was given the intellectual attention it deserves. I love the insights discussed whether from the host Kaitlin or her impressive, and relatable, guests.
After listening to this podcast, I feel encouraged to find time to write and pursue my other creative passions and to stop saying, “I’ll write again when the kids get a little bit older.” I love the honest reflection of Solimine and her guests about the barriers that arise when being a caregiver, but also how the post partum period can be a tremendously inspiring and fruitful time. Looking forward to the second season of this great podcast!
As a mother and artist — struggling to do both well — this podcast gives me both comfort and energy. I feel seen! Kaitlin’s choices of guests, insightful questions, great listening, and brilliant synthesis makes this parenting podcast a standout.
A smart, provocative podcast that starts to unpack so many hidden corners of being a creator in its many forms. It was comforting to hear expressions many of the same struggles I’ve experienced against cultural stereotypes, systemic constraints, and our own internal voices. Looking forward to more thoughtful conversations.
As a mother and a creator I so appreciate this podcast and the support it provides. I highly recommend this podcast for anyone who is a parent and also creating - or aspiring! Highly recommended
It’s a treat for me when new episodes air. I feel like I’m seen and I’m conversation with others who get it—that balancing act (if there can be one) of motherhood and creative work. It gives me a sense of community, feels supportive, is enlightening and inspiring. Thank you, Kaitlin!
