The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show

Reviews For The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show

What a fantastic show. Dr. Dom and Dr. Lyon de-mystify psychology, psychiatry and how we should look at our own mental health. His story alone is worth the listen. Thank you both for a fascinating show.
Nice job to you and Dr Dom, I especially the breathwork segment. I am a longtime breathwork Guy of many years. It literally saves my life. Thank You Dr Lyon!!! Peace, Steven Hessel
The episode with Ted Naiman was unbearable and a complete waste of time. What an absolute clown to have on your show. Multiple things he mentioned: “the source of your protein does not matter” basically saying animal protein and pea/soy protein are equally beneficial - what???? Also mentioned that “saturated fats are empty calories, and not very helpful” he then says we should follow the food guidelines instead. THEN, goes on and rambles about how ground beef and red meat are bad due to their saturated fat content. Ted Naiman is an absolute joke. I would take every piece of advice from this episode and do the complete opposite. THE SOURCE OF YOUR PROTEIN ABSOLUTELY MATTERS AND YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY CARE ABOUT THE PROTEIN YOU ARE CONSUMING. WE SHOULD NOT FEAR SATURATED FATS; WE ABSOLUTELY NEED THEM.
I am grateful for the podcast on Body Composition and all of your content. The conversation about weight loss resistance and how many hit a major wall with body fat percent is something I would love more information on to help my clients who are willing to do the work and not get the results they deserve. Thank you for all that you do to help others. I have been a fitness professional for 30 years and never has anyone spoken so clearly about what I have seen firsthand with my clients.
I appreciate all of the knowledge you bring the audience about protein intake, exercise, nutrition, etc! You have helped me and others beyond measure - keep up the good work!
Great content but I wish Dr. Lyon would not feel compelled to interject all the time as it disrupts the flow of the conversation. Because of the time delay between the speakers it’s even worse. It is extremely distracting and all the interjections prevent guests from completing their statements.
I love the content. But bring in researchers that don’t align with Dr. Lyon’s worldview! We get it. Eat animal protein. And a lot of it. But there is tons of data on plant based diets. The Mediterranean diet (is not plant based but has an emphasis on low animal protein) is the most researched diet there is (other than fasting). Bring in researchers on the benefits of plant based diets and the benefits to climate change, to challenge Dr. Lyon! Let’s get some debating going from the other side. Please!
I listen to many popular health podcasts and Dr Lyon has been a guest on many. I find it refreshing that a female physician is promoting strength training and building muscle as a means to health for all but particularly women. She has had some really great guests however, I find her singular focus on muscle somewhat myopic. It feels more like a way to become “niche famous” than a paradigm shift for the practice of medicine. Her most recent episode with Marie Claire Harver left much to be desired. Harver is a proponent of keto/fasting and peddles an expensive diet community membership. She claims to be science based but much of her approach is anecdotal or use of observational data “suggesting benefit” as evidence based. With as fast as the fields of medicine and health change, both women seemed overly confident in their interpretation of current data. This felt like a giant commercial for Harver who is also trying to be “niche famous” by selling you information that is free and somewhat contradictory to some of Dr Lyon’s own recommendations.
Love this information! I would like the information be brought down to a level of those that are not doctors or someone who does not clearly understand the terms . It’s so informative and has so much benefit. I want to learn more about the body and muscle to better my aging process.
Yea!! Thank you Dr. Lyon! This podcast has helped me navigate through the weeds and junk information to get to the real information that I needed to take effective action. My daily mantra is “Eat all the protein!! Lift all the weights!!! Because Dr. Lyon said so!!”
I remember my online coach tagged Dr. Lyon as the protein doctor. My brain failed it then I saw her podcast and have listened to a few so far. I loved the meal planning episode. While some interviews are over my head, I feel like she’s good about summarizing for the non PhD types. I’m definitely looking into getting her book, and I plan on revisiting episodes to take note for myself and the clients I serve at my training studio. So much information on her podcast that really is not talked about enough! Yes lift weights, eat right and move!
I discovered Dr. Lyon on the Dhru Purohit podcast. So glad I did! I enjoy her straight forward science and data based approach to sharing health information in a simple way. Prioritizing protein is so simple, yet most doctors aren’t even talking about the importance and value of protein in a diet. I’ve struggled with weight issues my entire life. I feel like I’ve finally found a plan which I can easily incorporate into my lifestyle that actually works and I’m seeing incredible results! I really enjoy Dr. Lyon’s expert guests who share invaluable health knowledge. I’m also sleeping better too thanks to the tips from the sleep episode. I highly recommend this podcast and Dr. Lyon’s book Forever Strong! Excellent health and wellness content. Thank you Dr. Lyon for sharing your protein passion!
This podcast isnt just transparent but Dr Lyon and guests break down and back up with other sources and you are easily able to come to your own conclusion. These are conversations everybody (should) can take away something from. You can leave your primary doctor with confusion and so many unanswered questions but listen to this podcast and truly walk away with new perspective and clarity. 5 stars!
This has been my favorite episode thus far! Your down to earth explanation of concepts and functions is so helpful to my understanding of the important role protein and exercise plays in our health. I am a 59 year old woman who keeps getting stronger and healthier as I age with guidance of amazing teachers like you and Dr. Layman. Thank you!
My sister shared this podcast with me, and I’m so glad she did! Insightful, science-based, research driven approach to nutrition and building muscle can be found here!
Love the content Dr Lyon but you often interrupt the interviewee, original question is not answered because it seems the excitement of the beginning of their answer spurs another question. Please allow the original question to be answered fully. Thank you.
Dr. Lyon is helping so many people live longer, healthier, and happier lives. Her book Forever Strong is a must read!
Dr lyons podcast is so educational for both professionals and everyday listeners. Her new book forever strong is a must read for anyone caring about their health!
Dr Lyon is a new guru for longevity, health and weight loss for menopausal women like me( and everybody else, really) Her new book FOREVER STRONG is a very important read. Get this book! I realized that I was not eating near enough protein and my resistance training had dropped off even though I had done it most of my life. Just when it was most important. There is so much info for longevity in this book. After only 3 months of better habits, I have lost weight without trying and see myself getting more toned and stronger every day. Her science will work and this is super important for everyone to understand. I am so excited that younger adults such as my own kids will have this knowledge as they age.
Much needed education and cutting edge information for women of all ages who want to age and continue to live healthy, strong and balanced lives. Thank you Dr. Lyon!
Amazing podcast so much good content. But Dr. Lyon, with all due respect, when you ask your guests really granular questions about whatever topic… they know it’s not for you directly it’s for the listener. Doesn’t feel like an organic conversation when you ask a question and clarify it’s not directly for you it’s “for the listener”. Overall, so much great information! Thank you!
Finally someone who I can look up to and trust with how to grow in mind and body to optimize my health. There is a plan and a path forward and all we have to do is execute. You can feel Dr Lyons strength of mind, heart and soul when she speaks. Can't wait to delve into her book Forever Strong. Love it when she says "Criticism is the breakfast of champions, with a side of protein."
Full of important info & so well explained!
Listened to her for the first time on MP and immediately downloaded the audiobook.. binged it in one day and looking forward to putting the nutrition recommendations in play this week. Looking forward to catch up on all podcasts episodes in the coming days. Thank you for the info and book.. definitely helpful
Dr Lyon is the definition of strong!! She is absolutely amazing and what I love about her is she is transparent, tells it like it is and wants you to be the best version of yourself. Her book Forever Strong is a game changer. Because of her and her protocol I have made forever changes in my life and am stronger and healthier for it. I can only get better!!! Everyone needs to take a page out of her book as you will be better for it. Thank you for being you Dr Lyon!!
Dr. Gabrielle Lyon's podcast is a game-changer. The sheer depth of knowledge she provides isn't your run-of-the-mill health advice. It’s totally shifted how I look and approach weight-loss and anti-aging. We're talking clinical researchers as guests, giving you the real deal, right from the source of groundbreaking studies. I am armed with facts and insights that are ahead of the curve. Listen to the podcasts to invest in yourself and those you love around you. There's no turning back after that. Tune in, and feel what I’m talking about.
She has an incredible way of passionately explaining things and is such an expert at what she does. I also love that she is genuinely curious and a life time learner. Love Love learning from her!!
Love the podcast! So helpful and really appreciate your help in sorting through all the confusion on what to eat, workouts and how to age in a healthy way.
“How to Design a Successful Meal Plan” podcast was 🙌🏻 amazing! Very thorough, informative, bold(straight to the point-which I love about her 👊🏻) and easy to implement to a lifestyle change! 10 star!⭐️ Thanks Dr Lyon for your knowledge, your passion and your love in your work it speaks volume to the world. I will continue to share your knowledge to my friends and clients! Keep on and keep us being strong!! 💪🏻 Blessings!
I really love Dr Lyon’s podcast, always lots of great information and actionable items to becoming a healthier and more resilient human. Most recently I really loved the solo podcast on meal planning, it simplified the process and made it seem easy to implement.
Lasted podcast was one of my favorites! Training and nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated, and Dr. G is amazing at translating her knowledge into actionable steps and information anyone can begin to execute. Thank you for everything you do Dr. Lyon, and keep being #ForeverStrong !!
Such an informative and awesome interview! Thank you both!
I usually rate shows and never leave comments so I felt very compelled to type this one. This was the first episode I listened to and I have to say, he has to be one of the most arrogant physicians I have ever heard being interviewed. I have a high respect for Dr. Lyon, believe in her content as she is evidence-based, straightforward, and simplistic which I love. However, throughout this episode she claimed to be completely aligned with Dr. Naiman’s philosophy however he kept addressing the obese and/or overweight population as “fat” or “you’re just fat”. He also made good points but in such arrogant language and tone which I have low respect for and cannot imagine how his own patients feel like when listening to him. I am very surprised Dr. Lyon allows for interviewees like this on the show.
Amazing content and with the science
Amazing, interesting, knowledgeable guests & host. I listen every week when I’m meal prepping. I have not been disappointed with ANY episodes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dr. G ~ is bringing out the Truth about How to Stay Forever Strong!!! I have learned sooo much from her podcast along with her guests as well.
I love that Dr. Gabrielle Lyon dives into the science behind health and wellness! Not only is Dr. Gabrielle incredibly smart, but the guests she has on?! I am always rushing to take notes because of the engaging and informative topics they discuss.
I really enjoy the content of this podcast however, she talks much more than she allows her guests to speak. It’s beyond annoying and SO disrespectful that she is constantly interrupting her guests. She never allows them to get out a full thought or sentence without interrupting and bringing up something about herself. Also, the constant “hmm” when the guests are speaking. It’s almost like she afraid people will forget she’s there. Dr Lion, please learn some manners and allow your guests to speak and tell their story. THEN ask your questions and say your comments.
I’ve been following Dr. Lyon for some time now and love everything she teaches and represents. I’m a current resident who is often frustrated with how we approach health and healing. After seeing how Dr. Lyon and others practice, teach, and live medicine I am more and more optimistic for my future practice and how I’ll feel comfortable educating and treating my patients! Thank you!!
Great podcast! Ty
Just finished the Kelsi Sheren episode and had to sit with myself for a moment. What an incredibly raw and insightful episode. I felt so sucked into every moment. This is a must listen for anyone struggling with PTSD, depression or just needing the courage to know you can change your life. Dr. Lyon is the epitome of strength. I love listening to her lay down the law about being a strong human-mentally and physically. Add this podcast to your list if you want to make all the gains. I feel so empowered as a woman, listening to Dr. Lyon. Thank you!!
I’m obsessed with this podcast! Dr Gabrielle Lyon is so knowledgeable and really dives into the science behind health and wellness. She has the most interesting guests who share their knowledge and she always makes sure that the scientific terms are put in a way that anyone can understand and makes practical application for the every day person. If you’re interested in living a healthier and happier life this is the podcast for you!
I am just loving on Dr Lyons podcast interviews! She brings on so many amazing people to her platform for deep discussions on all things health, wellness, longevity, health span and the importance of MUSCLE! Dr Lyon asks the questions that we want answers to. And yes, there’s sometimes no clear answers, but the questions and answers provoke a hunger to learn and know more- and to realize science is always changing, never settled. Her podcast discussions always leave me with peaked curiosity. I am learning so much and am so humbled by all that I don’t know. With my personal goals including always striving for optimal health and balance - for my body, mind AND Spirit, this podcast certainly helps me along my health journey! Thank you Dr Gabrielle Lyons. Much gratitude and love to you and all the good things you are doing in this world Dr Lyons!
First, I have become a regular listener to this podcast and have come to incorporate muscle centric medicine into my health journey and well being. Next, I am curious when Dr Lyon comments on her guests being jacked and tan. This is the most recent episode I have heard this from her but I believe this is not the first time she has said it. I believe I understand jacked to mean well developed muscularity? Good muscle definition? Or is it hypertrophy? Or is all of this the same thing? And what about tan? Is it just the skin color ? Tan because it shows up definition of the muscle better? Or is it the jacked and tan intermediate powerlifting program? I’m not sure any of this matters but I want to have a better understanding of what the implication is with the comment particularly the ‘tan’ .
Weren’t the use of Arginine, red panax ginseng and fenugreek talked about on this episode? I thought they were and I wanted to know more about how to use them. My apologies I’d I’m addressing the wrong podcast Thank you I love your show
Wow, what an honor and pleasure to get to learn from Evy Poumpouras. Please invite her back! One of the best episodes I have ever listened in this Platform so far. Great content! Thank you!!
Thought provoking.. and the references to unbiased research is so welcoming.. yet do remember that all of us don’t know what we don’t know and yes some are aware this paradox exists and we must recognize that the body of knowledge is always expanding AND the truth may shift. I especially resonated with Dr Jaquish and his challenging ideas, agree with some and seeking research for others. My objection to eating animals stems more from the lousy, horrid way some are raised and the awful energy transmitted through that more moral aspect. We need to do better and honor the quality of life we raise and consume. And part of the herd mentality is rooted in our biology and in how we learn, but agree we must dare to question all. So much to learn…. Thank you for airing what we need to hear and elevating us all and I love your style!!

The Host spoke more than her guest!!!
