This podcast adds necessary context to ongoing issues around climate change and severe weather. It’s New Jersey specific, but relevant to all of us regardless of where we are. Great job!
I thought the podcast was beautifully delivered, with an investigative depth and seriousness of reporting, but also a relatable and unpretentious delivery. I’m now quite interested in learning more about superfund sites in New Jersey and how they are being affected by climate change and the passage of time.
I didn’t know much about New Jersey and I had never heard of the Superfund program until my daughter, the host of “Hazard NJ,” started this podcast. I recommend everyone listen to “Hazard NJ.”
Such an important topic covered accessibly by an talented, justice-oriented, familiar reporter/host. Chock full of information and shocking details. A must-listen!
This podcast is very entertaining and informative. The episodes give such a clear and concise look into the environmental and hazardous impacts industrialization and development have had on these communities in New Jersey. The interviews are insightful and the stories warm the heart while busting the eyes wide open to just how deeply affected the people in these superfund sites are, often spanning generations. Overall a very well researched, well executed podcast with great production quality and a passionate host that brings witty anecdotes and a soothing, educational timbre to a subject we should all pay a lot more attention to.
As weather changes impact our country there’s an increasing danger that clean ups of polluted sites, even ones that were thought under control, could impact our everyday lives. This goes sadly underreported, which is why I was excited to listen to this podcast, which addresses the issue. I can’t think of a more important topic and it is executed excellently with a well-written and easy-to-listen-to show.
Love the first episode. More people need to hear about these superfund sites as climate change increases the risk of environmental contamination / community exposure and clean up lags, and lags, because of course. Compelling storytelling, great host. I am looking forward to more of this.
