Teddy Goes to the USSR

Reviews For Teddy Goes to the USSR

This is a fascinating exploration of the Soviet Union through the eyes of an American visitor. Well researched and produced. The expert commentary provides helpful historical context. Highly recommend.
There’s a lot of good information in this series, but it’s not really about Teddy in any meaningful way. It seemed more like Guillory just wanted to use Teddy as a jumping off point to then go talk to experts about a certain aspect of something Teddy mentioned, which would be fine if the wrap up episode didn’t consist of a good 15 minutes of the host and a guest armchair psychologizing about Teddy and either blatantly misunderstanding or willfully misinterpreting Teddy’s recounting of his experience so they could pursue a tired line of analysis about the “cold war mindset.” Should’ve had more Teddy. Last episode was insufferable and unnecessary.
Sean Guillory had outdone himself. This is a great podcast.
