I started my investing education with the podcast Investing For Beginners with Dave Ahern, and Andrew Sather, but once I learned the basic landscape of investing, and had many investing terms defined, Investing Unscripted became my go-to listen.
These guys have the “thing” that is entertaining to listen to. Their banter will not bore you, or get you too deep in the woods. They hit the right spot that is not too advanced, but also not directed to a neophyte.
The only real gripe I have is the audio level is low, and I need to turn up the volume to hear them, and the podcast doesn’t auto play to the next episode on Apple Podcasts. Other podcast I listen to do not need to be turned up to this level, and they auto advance to unplayed episodes without issue. Also because I have to turn the audio up so high, the commercials play at an ear piercing level that blow out my ears. If you could fix these audio issues, I would upgrade your show to 5 stars without hesitation.
It’s just the best. I can’t wait to listen when a new one comes out. Jason and Jeff are funny, thoughtful, and humble. The mindset stuff is really lacking in the “fintwit” space; this will help you feel better about your mistakes and more humble about your successes. Definitely worth your time.
Jeff and Jason are a great listen. They touch on several industries in the investing world and offer up some good perspectives. I always come away from the show with something to think about. Keep up the good work guys!
Updated Review after Episode 96: I can’t believe Investing Unscripted listeners have been lucky enough to have this show remain as strong as it is. There is even a day of the week named after the previous show name, it’s forever Smatterday! I just hope they get renewed for a third season.
Previous review: Jason and Jeff always come to the table with great topics and are happy to interact with listeners. I’ve developed a better investing framework taking bits of knowledge throughout the first 33 episodes, and often listen more than once.
This is a must listen for me each week. I really enjoy the conversation between Jeff and Jason. I’ve learned several lessons from them. I also really appreciate that they admit to not having all the answers and openly will change their opinion of a stock based on new information. I really appreciate the openness!
Love the podcast these guys put out. All the benefits of discussing business and investing with intelligent people without the burden of having to speak and embarrass yourself. Side benefit of sharpening one's skills in the art of snark.
I love this podcast! I have loved Jason Hall from the early Motley Fool Live days. Jeff is a great addition. I like the sparky repartee and the fun they have with each other. It feels like family, only smart about investing. They have great guests, too!
I’ve been listening to these guys for a couple of months and have been pleased with the content. They are regular people who work regular jobs but also have a great deal of knowledge about investing. I really enjoy the varied guests they have on, their response to listener questions, and the wide range of topics they cover. Definitely something I will continue listening to while on my own investing journey.
Investing Unscripted is a great name for this podcast. Come for wide ranging discussions where individual investors can learn along with Jason and Jeff.
Jason and Jeff have developed a great podcast. It is very informative and easy to understand. I have been admirer of Jason’s work from his Motley Fool days.

I have been listening to Jason and Jeff’s podcast every Saturday morning for about a year. I really enjoy investing and found out about Jason through an investments advisor service that I use, but as a College president and dad of four teens, career and family commitments just don’t allow me to check on things during the week. Our portfolios and interests seem similar, however, and I’ve experienced tremendous gains because of 2-3 choices in particular that I made about a year ago. (I follow Mercadolibre more closely than any other company) … Early Saturday mornings are “my time.” My ritual is to go to my country club (solo), press play on the podcast, and play nine holes of golf while listening. I chart financial progress in a coffee shop on the way home. It is working, I feel like I have some conversation partners about my investing ideas, and I still have Saturday afternoon and Sunday to give to my family.
I’ve been listening to Jason and Jeff for over a year now (congratulations fellas!) and can honestly say that this is one of the best “investing” podcasts out there. I use quotes because it’s not just about businesses: they cover mindset, news, sector analysis, history, goals, strategy and picks - all of it. And it’s *all* very relatable, because they’re going through those topics with you in a no-nonsense, matter-of-fact and reasonable way.
Just listen. You’ll be happy you did. These guys are the real deal.
This podcast is the perfect balance of individual stock analysis and long-term investing balance. As a newer investor in individual stocks this has been a great help to me in developing my investing style, portfolio, and mindset. Give Jason and Jeff a listen!

Jeff and Jason do a wonderful job talking about the most important aspects behind successful investing for individuals. I’ve followed Jason since being a subscriber of Motley Fool back in the days of the pandemic. I’ve enjoyed his personality and perspective on investing since becoming aware of him while watching MF Live. Jeff is new to me, but his “every man” perspective on investing is a bit refreshing. While the hosts share good information both of current and historical market knowledge I am reminded of the Bogle quote “ Nobody knows nothing” when it comes to investing, great entertainment too. Also, I subscribed to the newsletter and am enjoying that as well! Thanks for all you do!
I recently found this show and highly recommend to anyone looking for a show that goes in-depth on investing mindset. Jason and Jeff bring different lengths of investing experience and expertise together. A great listen for a new investor, or someone who has been investing for many years.

This has become one of my go to podcasts in 2022. If you’re getting started as an investor and want to learn more or have been at it for years it’s a great show to roll into your list. You even get bad dad jokes and the occasional atrocious pun thrown into the mix 😆
