Reviews For Unsealed: The Tylenol Murders

Essential. Simply the best podcast on this topic. The reporting is concise, well documented and detailed. I wish the ladies would do an epilogue, now that the prime suspect is no longer alive.
I found this podcast after hearing on the news that the suspect for over 40 years had recently died. Binge listened today to all eight episodes, wondering if there will be an update now that Lewis has died.

Painfully slow. Bizarre, as it’s an interesting story and an important chapter of American history. All of us alive at the time can say where we were when this story took to the airwaves. Such a disappointment. Part of the issue is the dual narration. Gutowski moves along at a solid clip, sounds curious throughout and has a voice for podcasts. While I’m sure she’s a talented reporter, St. Clair does not. Annoying to have to keep my iPhone close to up the volume whenever whispery, sleepy St. Clair takes the mike. The editing is also subpar. Well-made podcasts make you think once you have a compelling story the production writes itself. It’s in poorly produced podcasts like this that you see that isn’t so. Preciousness like a narrator pausing before the end of a sentence so an interviewee quote can end it make me grimace.
I really enjoy the story but the pauses in episode 4 were tough. Way to long it makes it seem like the story is over multiple times.
A interesting and well documented podcast! Definitely recommend!
I love your podcast, keep up the good work! Please post more stories 🙂
Just because someone was in a public access show 12 years prior doesn’t mean they should be comfortable being on camera today. Lazy conclusion. At one point the reporters are chasing the dude down and they ask him to please slow down but when he asks them a question they refuse to answer. If they can’t answer a question why should he and why would he want to?
The last episode where the reporter is harassing the guy who this entire podcast is based around, annoyed me enough to decide to write a review. I’m fairly certain if FBI or Chicago police had enough evidence, Lewis would have been charged. And the harassment 40yrs after by a small time Chicago journalist who lost her job during COVID…. Disgusting
I started college in September 1982 and this delivers so much information, old and new, that I never heard about

Good interesting stuff, but can’t listen to the hosts voice for more than an episode.
This podcast was really well done. I think the development of the case but also the backstory, for the suspects, were done so well. there was not one single episode where I felt like it was dry and dragging on. Couldn’t wait to listen to the next episode.
I’ve always found this piece of history interesting, and I enjoyed the way this podcast added to my knowledge of the event. There was a lot of background information about the two main suspects that I didn’t know before. The production quality was excellent, and I found the storytelling compelling.
Informative, compelling, interesting, and altogether a terrific program! Thank you!
Incredible reporting makes this show absolutely riveting.
This is a great podcast! Excellent & engaging. One of the best things about the podcast is the presentation—Straight forward (no useless chatter), voices are very easy to listen to and, above all, filled with information! You’ll want to binge! Hope to hear more from them!
One of the best podcasts I’ve heard! Well researched, perfectly edited, hard not to finish all the episodes in one listen…bravo!
The host voices are so soothing and it’s easy to listen to. I hope they do more
Loved it. Knocked out our in 2 sessions
The journalist have created a podcast rife with tantalizing snippets that serve to pull you more fully into this fascinating story. They reveal these snippets slowly and with great care as any really good story teller knows how to do. Listen to this podcast, you will not be disappointed.
Listening to the reporters chase down someone paparazzi-style is something I would expect from a tabloid, not a reputable newspaper.
Strong reporting and storytelling. Really well done. Do more, please! Lots to talk about in Chicago!
Easy to follow and understand, clearly presented and nicely researched. Very entertaining and the hosts don’t have any annoying traits, easy in the ears.
Not a lot of substance after episode 1
I was hooked from start to finish!!! Great all around.
Very thorugh reporting. Enjoying the podcast!
Very through investigation and solid storytelling to report on the past news and current updates on this case. I was a kid when these events happened, and I remember how scary it was. This was the case that launched over-the-counter medication to be in sealed packaging. The journalists reporting really went into extensive detail on the suspects’ backgrounds and it was fascinating. I feel sad that Ford passed, who would have continued to be an excellent ally for the case, based on how close he worked with this podcast to answer all of the questions for a case he led decades ago. Great collaboration from him. An honorable memory to him as well. Excellent podcast.
I would love to listen to this, but, for some weird reason the person or persons who produced it decided to mix in this continuous “thump thump thump thump” stop “thump thump thump thump” stop “thump thump thump thump” stop.… It’s really distracting and very annoying. What is that?? Possibly more importantly, WHY?
I did get what I was hoping for out of listening - explanation and examination of this case from so long ago. The hosts did a very thorough job of researching and reporting everything especially considering how much time has gone by and how many people who may have known things are gone now. However, the conclusion in the last episode is misguided. I empathize with the people who lost loved ones, especially the family who lost three people in one day, and I’m sorry there hasn’t been any closure for them. None of the rest of us deserve any explanation. Life isn’t a story and not everything can have a satisfying conclusion.
Pleasant hosts, and no nonsense. Highly recommend!
Outstandingly reported, extremely entertaining. Highly recommend.
I trust these writers/investigators to frame and present this difficult-to-understand narrative. Great stuff.
The reporting on this is fantastic. True Crime, yes. But also an incredible oral history of an event that changed how we live today.
This was a great Podcast. The way Stacy and Christy shared all the evidence was so detailed and well explained! I can’t wait for their next podcast they do together.
Why is everyone so focused on placing Lewis in Chicago at the time of the deaths? Couldn’t he have poisoned bottles and placed them towards the back of the shelf so people wouldn’t die immediately and he wouldn’t be in town at the time?
Good from start to end , deep dive into the topic

This was one of the best true crime story podcasts I’ve heard in a long time.
Story is crazy and intriguing, but the storytelling is top notch. Journalists both speak in a natural flow that is pleasant to listen to and the music is amazing.
Engaging riveting story telling, a must listen for true crime fans.
