I don’t care for newer ones I think stories like cuddles was better and some felt like they don’t care about acting and are talking off topic. And I don’t like how it says **** you for listening neighborebore it feels like you don’t care about how it will go.
Some of the stories are good, some are Meh. “Don’t play this game” was 🙄 listening to her be so whiny, weak and desperate was so annoying. I couldn’t really follow the story because of the character. It’s how men expect women to act. When I started listening to “the Mayfair watchers society” the story was good then it all went to BLAH. Some I listened to I waited for the story to get better but that didn’t happen. This is just my opinion but to each his own you might like it.
Season 2 really picked up on focusing on Mayfair as a “character” and I love learning more about it through the lenses of the different stories. Season 1 was rockier for me with a 3.5 rating.
Absolutely love the show, love the world, it’s a great way to use found footage. I’ve listened to every episode 3 times now, I can’t get enough. It’s just good and entertaining. I also need an Exterminators videos game ASAP!!!
I’m a huge Magnus archives fan. I needed to fill a hole with something spooky and I’ve been let down a lot. I didn’t think I would like this podcast as much as I did. It really grew on me. It reminds me a little of no sleep but I think it’s far more refined and concise in story. I actually really enjoy the actors. The production is great!! High quality and entertaining. There’s something magnetic about this series.
I’ve listened to every episode and love the writing and themes. However, there is one particular voice actor that has made listening difficult on more than one occasion. I say this not to be mean, but hope it can serve as constructive criticism. The most recent episode, “Roadkill,” features a voice actor that appears to be doing their best version of an older Southern Black woman. The affectation, the drawl, the elongation of the words is so overdone it’s borderline offensive. I mean, minstrel show levels of offensiveness. I don’t see why that choice was necessary for the character, who claims to have lived in Mayfair her whole life. Since when is Mayfair in the Deep South? Honestly it’s the worst I’ve heard in a while. I would strongly encourage the producers to consider the implications of choices like this a bit more in the future. And to that actor, please reconsider your choices to so strongly racialize a character.
I also want to add; this is the first podcast review I’ve ever written. I listen to some seriously off the wall podcasts and am not the type to be easily offended at all. But this was just so, sooooo egregious I had to say something.
This was a good show at first. Really interesting anthology series set in the same setting but recently, the stories just feel too predictable. Also, idk why they need to keep including kid characters in this but use adults to voice them using somewhat grating voices.
There are horror podcasts that are one note. The same themes, the same general mood to each episode. This is not one of them. It is absolutely symphonic. Most (almost all) of them are excellently scary but you get sort of classic creepy and more defiant stories where a character will be more fight than flight, you’ll get some that are almost observational that do a lot for the world building and the feel of the show, well and truly tragic ones (class of ‘76 had me especially disturbed) and on the odd occasion one that’s sort of heartwarming? I also thought the bit about the roving man’s name not meaning what you thought was super interesting. And using a barred owl that would be native to the area (I think the episode was Host?) and isn’t just the generic owl hooting is exemplary of the awesome audio design of the show and just a really nice detail. Thank you :)
I absolutely love cryptids and this podcast makes me think how cryptids should be. 8/10 because nothing is perfect. I do have one more thing though, season 1 was amazing but season 2 is ok in my opinion. Maybe try bringing back the magic from season 1? Thanks. (I’m a director and I’m working on a tv show for this) ;)
I’ve listened to so many horror audio dramas but in this is so immersive and acting is excellent . It feels like you’re right there in the story sand the storyline is very good. Makes me feel like almost an audiobook if you love hoarder audio dramas this is the one for you.
I think the boogieman episode could of been its own podcast as I was listening to it I just wanted it to keep going there are others I think could be there own podcasts as well
Trevor Henderson has made the best audio drama series ever in my opinion because it is super immersive and it feels like the monster is right there in the room with you. Amazing story and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to listen to it.
The theme song for the first season of this podcast was fantastic. Use of various voices in a kind of audio collage was so original. The use of different adjectives and other effects on the voices was FANTASTIC . By way of contrast the theme song for season two is HORRENDOUS . it has NONE of the charm, and NONE of the dread produced by the first season’s theme song. So far I like the new episodes but I’m very disturbed by the aesthetic choice of taking a brilliant first season theme song and turning it into a droning incomprehensible mess. This would be a five star review, but I took a star away.
I have been a huge Trevor Henderson fan for many years now. I can't wait to see how many of his spooky creations are going to be added to this podcast! I love every episode, and I can’t wait until the next episodes!
I really wanted to like this podcast. The stories themselves are great. It’s the noises in the podcast. They hurt my ears. So high pitched and loud. Like nails on a chalkboard. It gave me a headache and made it hard to listen to the story.
I am an avid Mayfair fan! I found 1st season last year and devoured it !! So far the 2nd season is a bit different but in a great way!! Only downside is I HATE waiting for new episodes 😂 please keep them coming!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!
I have purchased the annual membership for no commercials, it’s never worked.
Contacted the Bloody FM several times and in different ways but here I am still with these dumb commercials.
Frustrating and not cool.
Give them your money I want more stuff from bloody fm. This podcast has really shown what true create podcasting can be. It is like a sensation for my ears it really brings me into the moment makes me believe I am there not as one of the characters but as a spectator carefully watching events unfold.
I love how this show brings art to life! There's so much creativity in Trevor Henderson's work and it's been great seeing how that creativity translates to the audio medium.
I love that you made Trevor Henderson aka maker of siren head, cartoon cat, and long horse to name a few the co-writer of this creepy pasta podcast. I also love the crisp clean audio of it and it’s just a great podcast for what it’s advertised as
There are not many Trevor Henderson podcasts out there and frankly most of them are in another language or just a kid on his dad’s mic. This podcast is amazing. Keep up the good work! 😁👍
This is a great podcast with many talented voice actors who know what they are doing. Anyone who complains about the voice acting clearly has not listen to the MULTITUDE of other podcasts all of these voice actors on. Each and every voice actor gives their all to any bloody disgusting FM related podcast they are a part of STOP BEING STUPID PEOPE YOU WANT A SIMPLE SPOOKY STORY AND A BUNCHA GREAT PODCASTS TO LISTEN TO? THEN THIS IS IT AND THIS IS ALL THE REVIEW YOU NEED. It starts with a fantastic story and the rest are great and creepy. These are simply stories meant for fun for you to listen to through the horror podcast you love … if you didn’t like how this podcast did it that is your opinion and many others think otherwise and don’t need your negative comments because you’re mad at daddy or mommy and taking it out on These hard working professionals
I can’t say enough about the poor writing and voice talent. I’m on episode 26 now. I’ve skipped through quite a few. The voice talent and writing is really hit and miss. The editing is bad. None of the character interactions sound natural.
Why still listen? Some of the episodes are actually good and well acted. The premise is really good. Sooo, skip through. You’ll know the good ones when you find them.
Definitely not a top tier horror podcast
This podcast is by far the most scariest I have listen and envision ever, and I know scary. I will always love Trevor Henderson till the day I die which will be a very very long time, or closer than I think. Maw ha ha ha haaa!!!!!!
I love the sound design and how the podcast tells the story versus just reading a story. It’s so immersive and fantastic. I’ve been a horror fan for such a long time which has left me desensitized and harder for me to feel scared, but Mayfair Watcher’s Society has kept me up at night lol. I’ve been a fan of Trevor Henderson for so long and I love stories being paired with his artwork.
