If you are looking for a dose of humor to go with your sports, this is the pod for you. MBG, Hoos, Joy, and Casey are just as likely to make fun of themselves/each other as they are the countless message board posts we all read and wonder about.
In a sea of sports podcasts, this one smartly stands out by mining for comedy the same fertile ground as the hilarious Message Board Geniuses Twitter feed. The podcast is at its best when the hosts riff on silly and sometimes deranged message board posts by college sports fans with too much time on their hands. As long as they’re having fun with the craziness and not slipping into less interesting topics — serious criticism of truly ugly posts (yeah, we know) or rants about hated rivals (don’t care) — it’s a unique and fun sports podcast formula.
Really enjoy this podcast, but Richmondbob is so right. Joy’s volume is way out of whack and it’s a tough listen with earbuds. But the content and general hijinks are top notch.
Love the show. Only thing you need to do is to get the mic volume balanced among the four of you. Joy is much louder than everyone else. Kind of ear drum splitting when she yells / reacts to stuff.
It makes me feel better to know my irrational love for sports is not pathological and there are definitely more insane sports fans out there. Keep it up!
