Birds of Empire

Reviews For Birds of Empire

First off wolves have an alpha male and you just decided that females are the ones running everything which is the exact opposite of what would happen if civilization comes to an end. I’m just so tired of this same story line. Lead females are fine but this is so played out already. You know what’s going to happen before it even happens
A rich and expansive audio experience, filled with intrigue, action, and a multi-threaded storyline. Perfect for binge-listening!
Edit: I just listened to the season 2 finale, and holy wow what a season<3 I can’t believed we have to wait untold amount of time to see what happens!!! I’m all in!! It’s the show I put on and can listen to over and over… I love the vocal choices made by the characters. I love hearing the wolves embody the namesake of their clan through the growling excitability. In audio worlds sound paints the picture, and those growled words push that vision through. This is a different world than the one we’re familiar with, so to some it may sound over the top, but so is the destruction and rebuilding of civilization. Allow yourself to be immersed in the new environment, the new, yet primitive, ways of being. We are all but animals after all, and not so far removed from the wild as we want to believe. Bravo to this show and all its creators. I’m so anxious for more, and to see where we are ultimately taken🐺🐻🐏🦅 Edit: this show is far from “woke”, and I’m so tired of hearing that word thrown around anytime there is anything that isn’t cis heteronormative in a story. That isn’t “woke” that’s just life. Life isn’t cis heteronormative, that’s just what cis heteronormative people want everyone to believe…
Wowwwwwww!!! I just experienced The Blade of the Butcher and it is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!!! I am blown away!! A delightful experience while being devastated and in love with the characters and the incredibly talented actors! The fight scenes are exceptionally brilliant examples of true mastery in sound and mix designs!! BRAVO!!!!!!!
I am obsessed!!! I love how there are multiple characters, we focus on all of their story line. Each character gets an episode and they are all linked!!! LOVE and RECOMMEND this to anyone!!
Just finished the latest episode This series completely transported me into the story. I loved all of the characters from each tribe. I’m super invested in Azera’s storyline so far. Please keep making more!
Incomparable design, acting and storytelling. One of my favorite stories to listen to.

This is one of the most epic stories ever. Sound design and storytelling second to none.
I was already in awe of season one of Birds of Empire. The first episode in season two had me 🤯the descriptive audio, the background, and the performances by the actors are absolutely amazing. My imagination as they portray their characters felt so detailed. This is by far one of the best podcast fantasies, that I’ve listened to keep it up. I can’t wait to hear more.
I wish they would focus on the wolves they are my favorite by farrrrrrr also amazing plot twist in this first episode in season 2 little mad at Azera tho but i don’t blame her for her actions.. impatiently waiting for what happens next 😖 PLEASE LET YAFA SURVIVE He’s my favorite character
I love this audio drama. I am currently making my own audio drama at the moment. This podcast was some good inspiration and a good thing to listen how sound cues and stuff. Anyway, thank you!
I’ve listened to all episodes 3 times now!! I love the characters and world building very excited for another season
My absolute favorite QCODE series. So expansive & fascinating. Beautiful soundscape & interesting storytelling. I implore you for a second season 🙇🏻‍♀️ If unwilling or lack the resources, please allow this series to continue as a Patreon option

Too many cliff hangers I need a second season, so good I also want to know more About what the tribes looked like ex. I imagined the rams with horns and goat legs

5/5

pls!!!!!!!!
The wolf tribes’s main character is the tried and tired ‘tough strong woman but extremely defiant regardless of who I’m talking to, even if it is challenging the clan chief in public with no consequences, and I don’t have what I want so I’m whiny about it. While I throw a tantrum every chance I get. Forget the betterment of the tribe and my placing helps, I WANT WHAT I WANT!! AND I EANT IT NOW!!! WAAAA’ The character is annoying everywhere you find her and is so unlikely to happen in the situations she is placed in. She’s perfect for modern times where there is no danger in defiance. But in a society where one person’s defiance means lives lost and, especially in a society where strength determines leadership, she would have been outcast or killed for being a liability. Strong women do not have to be physically capable and emotionally stunted.
that’s all i had to say
I’ve been listening to podcasts for awhile, and when I say this one hits every mark I do mean it. The characters are so well written you get upset when it’s just a taste of their story, and that you know for a fact will intertwine with each other at some point of the story. I didn’t realize how short this season was and binged through every episode multiple times already. The entire plot, is just so intriguing you can’t help but want to hear more. To make it all better you start to develop questions and hope to get answers which obviously will come in the future, like how you guys put so much effort into the lore episodes as you do with the story driven episodes, I just love to hear more of what happened and how they came about to these powers each tribe has. Also how each tribe puts so much pressure on the names given to each character and why these names hold so much meaning and power to them. This entire series has you driving to wanting more and more and I really hope for a season 2! This is absolutely the best podcast I’ve came around in a long time.
I’m in love with this podcast I’ve re listened to it like three times! The characters are beautifully written, as is the world that they’ve been put in. That being said, it was a bit unclear at times what exactly was happening. Why do they despise each other? I know that the birds have wings and the wolves have sharp teeth, but are those things that the are born with? Do the rams have horns? Still loved it, but I would have liked a bit more explanation as to what abilities the people from the tribes age given. We know that the bares are good swimmers, but is that because of they are bares or just because they’ve been doing it their whole lives. I hope it gets a season 2
I listened to this whole thing in 1 day. Excellent work! You guys haven’t disappointed me once! I sincerely hope a season 2 is in the works. I need more for sure!
I have to admit I was a little unsure after the first 10 minutes of the 1st episode but once I finished it I enjoyed it. Each episode is intriguing and creating a good intricate web of world building. I see great scenes and beautiful scenes, can’t wait to hear more. I hope it’s obvious that these are intros for each important character for another season where they become interlaced. I can’t wait for another season as it’s building up like crazy.
Each episode is different character and tribe which is great but they don’t get to how it really ties together. This is all world building so I’m hoping second season will tie it together. Audio immersion is top notch.
Series was interesting and imaginative but not sure if producers pulled the plug early, left me hanging with a sigh of saying to myself “was that all?”
Great podcast. Was really immersed in each tribe. I love the way small details of the works emerge as the story moves along. I am definitely hooked in and will hopefully have more to listen to soon.

Good podcast
Absolutely perfect, from story to voice acting to production. I’ve listened to the ASMR soundscape over and over. PRAYING for a next season!!
Netflix should invest in making this visual. Honestly, amazing.
Most of the bad reviews seem like they were misunderstanding. Each long episode focuses on a different youngish member from 1 of the 4 tribes humans have separated into with the short episodes telling a myth or story from each of the peoples. So I guess you could be said to jump around but I think this first season was setting up for the bigger story to come next season and the characters’ lives will intertwined somehow. I can wait for the next season wich I hope comes out soon!! The sound quality was top notch especially with headphones or surround sound speakers which for me can make or break an otherwise good podcast. High five bruh 😈
It’s too bad really because you don’t have time to get to know the characters enough to care about them or become invested in their story before it just..ends. Wait..what? That’s it? Ok..you almost had me. Like I was right there on the brink of interest but then it’s over. It’s like those movie that entertain you well enough in a theater but as soon as you walk out to drive home- you’ve already forgotten it.

I dunno wut those bad reviews are talking about, they just be hatin, cuz they know they could never make a podcast half as good
I love QCode and subscribe to it. This has been my absolute LEAST FAVORITE and I’ve listened to every single show they have available! I could not get into it, the episodes were all over the place. Some made since, some did not. Some were good, some were not. Also… what’s up with the wimpy episode lengths? Seems like it should have been 4 parts not 8. I am shocked at how many good review this podcast has.
I’m an avid listener to audio dramas but rarely write a review. I had to for this - it was just amazing. The sound quality was incredible and the voice actors were great. The story is very interesting and definitely stems from anthropological passions. I just wish there was more in the first season! Can’t wait for season 2 to come out.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! Okay when I first saw the podcast I was so intrigued, I love listening to dystopian type things, I was sadly mistaken, let me start with the wolves, they are primal and over aggressive and at each others throats 25/8, I thought that they would balance it out with some form of tender moments between the tribe to show ‘pack love’ or some form of bond other than blood, again mistaken I don’t even want to talk about the groaning and grunting, it’s sloppy and aggro, and to hear it every 4 seconds it’s a thorn in my side, Main lead is strong trying to prove her self to her mom who is the Queen (?) Matriarch and her brother who is a teacher to the pups, not to mention he’s blind, The Rams Barlon was okay, very forgettable to be honest he is a Ram who can’t use his hands (?) hooves I don’t know, but he has a brace, his dad who is head leader in the Rams tribe tells his son that he can’t compete in the trials or whatever they are called because he can’t use his hands and rams are good with their hands, so without them they are nothing useful- as I said forgettable the Bears Timo was just confusing all around had no idea weather he was a teen or an adult, bears are good at magic or something (very forgettable) timo is looking for something to help his tribe with the raids ( side bar did I mention that they are bringing money into trade- well the Rams are, Silver they are trading silver now and the wolves hate that so they kill) Finally we have Halcyon Did I mention everyone hate the bird tribe because they fly? And can see in the air, well yeah they do SO FUN! Hal is the lowest ranking bird in her tribe the nameless, or her friend cricket, it’s really not worth listening too in all honesty Also bad Imagery, why do the Bird tribe are all described to have wings but the other tubes seem to be normal, I imagine the rams having huge horns and Centaur bodies, and the wolves to have rectangular snouts and tails and claws, but they were riding horse on their raid?????? This show is the definition of “I can’t give it a 0 so I’ll give it a 1”
It’s been a month since the last release. Is this all? It’s like leaving a movie in the middle. Would be 5 stars if this hasn’t been abandoned.
The stories are just boring and one dimensional. The dialogue is too modern for the setting. Just didn't peak my interest.
Ticks the same needs that Screamo metal does for someone. Loud and powered by negative emotions to trigger your own frustrations in life, but without the subtleties of a good YA novel. Made it through the first episode, and the voice acting is excellent, but Im surprised the author didn't get feedback from the actors on how exhausting it is to stay in a heightened, overly aggressive mentality is. Territorial and tribal animals are not in a constantly aggressive and insecure mode.. short bursts to set hierarchy, but after nearly an hour of constant snarling and posturing, I just couldn't take much more. Aside from knowing you're in the far future of the Dakotas and getting a small snippet of history from the only calm character in the show, theres no world building outside tribal cruelty. Will keep going to see if the tone ever balances out or more than two personalities are represented within each tribe… or if any of the characters get a second dimension at all… but definitely need a break from endless overt aggression in the name of ‘Primal’.
The best world building and story telling. Especially appreciate the tight release schedule
Season 2 cannot come out quickly enough. I am love with these characters and this world. Listening to this gets me hype in a way I didn’t know podcasts could.
Listening to this show throws you into another dimension and gives you a new culture and hierarchy to follow. Great story and super creative.
I love me some fantasy and this show does a good job of world building each tribes culture thru dialogue. Sometimes it’s a lot but I love it here! I say it’s a lot cuz the first episode with the wolves is a bit screechy and chaotic but if u can remember that’s “the world” I think you’ll have a really exciting listen ahead. I’m on episode 3 #LeaveBarlonAlone 🤬🤬🤬.
Highly recommend to those of you on the fence about checking this series out!! 5 Stars!!! I loved the voice acting, The Halcyon episode was my favorite! The voice acting in that episode was good. Looking forward to more of Master Ren and his villainy 🔥🔥🔥
Interesting concept of Tribalism. Bring on the second episode, I’m hooked. I must add following up on the latest episodes. QCode should take this epic story to the big screen. Intriguing and pushes the imagination. A stay in the lane QCode I rate this equivalent to the Left-Right Game. What’s Next ?…
Very well done and the best audio work I’ve seen in a podcast. However, the amount of times you have to hear “Ssssister!” gets very annoying.
Your story is rich and captivating. I can’t wait to see where we end up.
I am uncomfortably invested in this show. The story is interesting, and I enjoy hearing that much of it. However, I am unfortunately not a fan of many of the voices chosen for the characters. They make it hard to listen to at times because a few of them are, at the least, quite irritating. Also, I understand that it ties in with the story at times, but the yelling and growling is EXCESSIVE… I sit there and cringe. I will say tho, I could listen to the narrator all day. Good move on choosing that voice. Overall, again, I’m into the storyline, but these voices are rough…
Absolutely 100% gold. This was flawless. If you are a fan of the fantasy genre, you owe it to yourself to listen to this. I NEED a season 2, watch this, tell your friends to watch it, rate it, and leave a review. It’s everything you’ve ever wanted, trust me.
Way too much screaming, and it seems like a setup for a Game of Thrones scenario — all about the pursuit of power. I hated GOT even though I watched most of the series before quitting it. So I learned my lesson here and didn’t even finish the first episode. Does it get any better after episode 1?
