Real Survival Stories

Reviews For Real Survival Stories

John Hopkins is a great narrator of this intense, sometimes horrifying, yet fascinating, podcast. The actual survivors telling their stories are compelling and amazing. This is a fabulous podcast.
Finally. A literate survival podcast. It’s fantastically well done. Now you can leave behind all the rest.
This is one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to ever. And I’ve been listening to podcast for many many years. Thank you to the whole team for the time and effort it must have taken. Good work. Truly 🙏
Great podcasts are really about telling a great story, and there is no one better at it than John Hopkins. This is the best podcast in any genre or platform.
Wish it was updated every day! I love Noisers content. If you like this you have to listen to detectives don’t sleep both are awesome podcasts.
This is one of the best clean survival podcast ever. The host, the fact that he has the interviews in the podcast, is just awesome. Tess-
This is without a doubt my favorite pod cast of all time. There is so much deep wisdom in the stories and reflections of people who live their lives to the full, and especially poignant moments when they are in the edge of death but somehow continue living. It’s incredible.
The paraglider story had me feeling that cold. I hope her belief goes beyond saying “IF” there is a God. There’s no luck involved in her astonishing survival. The Lord works in mysterious ways. This was divine intervention. Hopefully she never asks if there is a God again. This was the first episode I listened to. I’m hooked already on this podcast!! You gotta keep the faith.

Addicting and well produced. I LOVE John Hopkin’s voice, so soothing and nuanced.
I absolutely love this podcast, my favorite right now. JH is just fantastic.
Definitely one of my top five podcasts. Look forward to each new episode.
I’m loving this show! It’s a great balance of narration and first person accounts that makes it feel like I’m getting the best versions of the stories that are possible. Keep them coming!
I love the color and emotion created with the story telling here. Maybe branch out into history, the ivory hunting in Greenland or the north west passage, desert survival or stranded on an island. Lots of stories in the historical record.
John Hopkins with his guests form great stories that make you feel right along with them. Definitely one of my favorite podcasts and I can’t wait for more episodes to come out. I already recommended to all my family and any one else who would listen 😉
Love this podcast…. The stories and hearing from the survivors is riveting.
Best survival story podcast anywhere.
Keep ‘em coming! This podcast is so well done and inspiring.
well narrated and researched stories, but subtracting a star for the dead air moments. dont know if they're trying to build suspense but they are too long to the point i wonder if the podcast cut off.

podcast available! Captivating and engaging. Perfect.
This is a top quality podcast. Narrator does a spectacular job of stating the facts and keeping an even professional tone that is pleasant to listen to despite whoever is telling their survival story. There is a wide range of stories, most that include good information should anyone find themselves in need of surviving themselves. Highly entertaining, ‘hard to put down’.
New favorite podcast. Listen to these stories while sleeping in to make you thankful to be in a nice warm bed.
The host does a good job of not trying to be crazy. Evenly paced, clearly spoken, everything pronounced correctly. Well produced with the transitions from the narrator to the survivor and back again. Quality podcast.
This show is captivating. Once I start I don’t want to get out the car until the episode is over so I sit in the driveway. My husband now listens. It’s so amazing to hear these resilient people stories.
Even though I've heard some of these stories before on shows like, "I Shouldn't Be Alive" the retelling and John Hopkin's dramatic voice make this unbeatable. Many stories are also new to me. So keep up the Great Storytelling and pumping out more seasons PLEASE!!! BTW, anyone who gives this less than 5 stars has NEVER been in a survival situation nor told a gripping story. Phooey.
So glad I found this Podcast. All stories are captivating, interesting and dramatic! My first week I’ve listened to atleast six so far! Keep up the great work! Jim H

I love this podcast so much!!! Please come out with Season 2 🙏🙏🙏
Love this podcast so glad I found it!
Great listen.
15 min stories stretched into 45.
If there’s a new one, it’s my first listen! Love the setups and that we hear from the survivors. A+
Love the true stories told by those who experienced them. The host does a marvelous job guiding the story along without making it about him. Keep up the great work!
Same gripping, to-the-point storytelling as Short History Of… love all the Noiser podcasts. Can’t wait for the newest episodes each week.
This is the best podcast I’ve come across in *years*. The narrator is phenomenal (I would be happy to hear him read a shopping list) and the stories are well told without the dramatization found in many similar podcasts. The audio background is also well done and adds so much to the overall feel of the podcast. Highly recommended!
The narrator is a bit overdoing the serious tone. It seems like he’s hamming it. BUT the stories are great and the protagonist interviews are very good.
Dramatic, factual and well written/narrated.
Once you start a story, don’t plan on stopping because you won’t be able to do it! This is an excellent podcast! Gripping stories, engaging voice artist, and lovely setup.
Noiser produces some great podcasts and this one is no exception!
Great podcast but I think every story so far has already been captured in the show “I shouldn’t be alive” (great show). I am hoping they interview Amanda eller who was lost in a Maui forest for 17 days in 2019
Completely gripping, and I love to learn about survival also; I hope I could respond to crisis anywhere close to how these people did.

Where did you go? Come back! Best podcast of all time.

I subscribed solely on the host’s easy to listen to voice and ability to capture my attention.
...but this podcast deserves it. It is top notch, first class, admirable, and all other good adjectives. I listen to many true crime, comedy, and survival/outdoor podcasts. This rose to #1 in my survival/outdoor podcast list after the first episode and, as I continue listening, it has not let up. The presentation and writing are impeccably paced and descriptive without falling into pedantic follies. It is a perfect balance of first-hand accounts and narration. This is a must-listen if you enjoy survival/outdoor storytelling. Well done to all those involved in the production of this show!
Truly amazing story telling. Great narration by the host. I look forward to listening to each episode.
Great narration, host, story telling. Really enjoying it so far.
Whatever that “X” factor is, this show nails it. Great narration. Is there music? I didn’t even notice. Edge of my seat. There will be no nodding off. You really can “see “ it. Fantastic.
These stories are simply unreal - it’s truly mind blowing stuff!! The host’s voice is PERFECT, the sound effects are just right, and the episodes are so well written & edited. Please keep up the amazing work - this is by far one of my most favorite podcasts and I recommend it to everyone. The survivors are incredible human beings - thank you for sharing your stories. PS - more podcasts with John Hopkins as host, please! He’s an incredible narrator/story-teller!
