The Big Flop

Reviews For The Big Flop

This is an exceptionally smart, laugh out loud while you listen, podcast. The quick wit and intelligence that oozes from the host and guests are delightful and even better than expected. This has become a bright spot in my podcast queue. Not only are you getting the inside scoop and details current and past pop culture events, I find myself smiling as the guests speak and laugh. Hands down cracking up and always looking forward to the next one.
This podcast has a lot of potential with a great concept and host, but the episodes really suffer when they cover flops that have had major recent documentaries. The episodes end up just rehashing the documentaries, even using audio clips. The guest are acting like they are learning about the flop but also admitting they saw the documentary. If other people drawn to a podcast that revels in the humor of public failure are anything like me, they’ve seen most of the documentaries as well (Fyre Festival, Action Park, Theranos, Pepsi Jet, etc). The podcast is fabulous when it’s original.
What a great podcast with a phenomenal host, introducing captivating content with hilarious guests I’ve loved every episode so far and I look forward to what else is in store. You gotta put out on episode on the Segway!
I love a show, where I am howling with laughter, and have tears running down my face, and this is one of them. The topics are great, and it just has a really fun format, I love the test in the middle. So great, thanks for brightening my day!
Heard about this podcast on Scamfluencers. Really entertaining!
Checked it out because most Wondery stuff is great. This is just a desperately Woke take on business.
I never write reviews but I felt like I needed to share that this is one of the only podcasts where I’ve had the thought “this host is talented!” He always does a great job leading the convos about the topics and the guests have been great every episode I’ve heard too. Keep it up y’all 🤗

I absolutely love the show!!! Even if I haven’t heard of the featured flop before, Mischa and his guests make it so entertaining! I especially love the “let’s play a game” segments!
Love this podcast, funny, like the guests and host and I feel like I learn something each week!
Entertaining and well researched topics! Misha is the best and has some amazing guests. Just binged all episodes!
Dives into pop culture trainwrecks all around us. Varied subjects. Varied guest hosts. Love the host’s ability to not take any of it too seriously. Love the games. Great listen!
This a great show but there are WAY too many ads for a podcast with episodes clocking in around 35-45 minutes, often breaking into the conversation just as the story is getting interesting.
The flops are often interesting some even taking me back to those times. However, the comedians aren’t funny, the wokeness is eye rolling, and the political correctness is ridiculous. If this podcast just focused on the flops, I’d really enjoy it. But adding to the bad comedians (who are neither funny nor intelligent it seems) and the woke ideology is enough to keep me away for the most part. I do try to listen because I’m interested in the flops but then sometimes I just cut it off shaking my head at the dialogues.
This podcast has become one of my favorite distractions from work. It’s funny and interesting with regard to the cultural disasters it covers. Keep it up!
This episode tickled me, mainly because I thought they were the same person. Lolololol same voice
Sometimes it is fun to hear what went into events that, after the fact, became iconic failures. While it is fun to learn these stories, there is no need to throw dirt on the faces of those who were buried in the flop. Guest hosts are generally c-list pseudo celebrities known by a very specific crowd of wannabe insiders. Misha Brown is an excellent host and MC, but the writing needs more balance.
I love this podcast, I laugh my tail off every time I hear it. Also, it’s nostalgic for me as many episodes focus on things from back in my day.
I needed a break from true crime and this podcast fits the bill. Very funny. Love the host and all the guest hosts.
It’s basically the desperate Acts of Capitalism Podcast, with a pop-culture twist and less nerdy, more famous hosts. I still like DAOC the best, but these people cover similar topics, and are entertaining
This is a really interesting concept and idea for a podcast. What others in the reviews are saying is true - it would be better without the revolving guest hosts. They take away from the main host who is fine on their own. Or add one permanent guest host (the woman in the first episode was great). A few tweaks and it could be five star!
The host ruins it. I get it, you’re gay. That’s fine. Why does this have to take over the show?

A fun time! Even the stories I’m already familiar with are entertaining to hear!
This podcast is so fun and Misha is an amazing host!
New favorite 💗
Hello from Rochester 👋🏻
This marks my inaugural review where unfortunately, the guests take the L on this podcast 😩 The narratives and the host are decent, but whether it's the editing, production, or the guests themselves, their vibes aren't hitting. They are neither funny nor insightful. The banter occasionally comes off as an extended inside joke we're all left out of. The podcast has potential, just needs some tweaks to hit.

Found Misha on IG. Decided to give this a try. I love any kind of true story. Very well executed, Misha! Am currently binging 👍🏼👍🏼
I love this show it’s easily my favorite new podcast. The recent episode about Fyre festival was the funniest one yet and I was laughing out loud in several places. I looked to this podcast to lighten my mood and take a look back at some of my favorite failures of all time.
Glad for the quick rewind button due to how often I’m laughing too hard to hear the next perfect thing Misha says. Misha - you are the perfect mix of whip-smart and punny, and you build up your guests so supportively and hilariously! Everyone shines on your show. Please never stop, and also invent wormhole technology so you can bend space & time and somehow have already made a million more episodes. Plus I bet you’d do a great episode on “wormhole technology” where you’d also explain why that’s such an unappealing name for it!
Breath of fresh air as we are all drowning in true crime podcasts. Thanks Misha and all your guests. Hilarious and look forward to podcast every week!
This was so fun 🤩
Please don’t bring him on again :( He talks over everyone and his used car salesman personality is so grating.
This is so fun and love the host!
I really want to love this show but have so much trouble with it. My first note is for Wondery, don’t do encore episodes especially for a podcast that was just established. I sort of understand it for the longer running shows but it’s just disappointing filler. And does it really help your ratings? How many people relisten to an encore episode? About the podcast I really wish there was more substance. As other people have noted these are really well known flops that are really well covered on the internet. Specifically with YouTube video essays. It’s more of a regurgitation of information while guests react to it. It’s super awkward too when a host has already covered the topic in their own show and there’s not a whole lot to add. Maybe there’s a musical angle you can take? I think that’s super interesting Misha has the theater background. Maybe there’s a way to lean into musical flops like the Spider-Man episode. I really appreciate the work you do! I think it has so much potential!
I usually like listening to this but they rate all episodes as “clean” and they sometimes are very much not. Wish they’d use the “explicit” tag when necessary to know which episodes are ok for all to hear. Also they release rerun episodes too often instead of just skipping a week when there’s no new episode. Wish they’d just release episodes when there’s something new. It is a fun quick listen though
I listen to a lot of podcasts and this is one of the few to make me laugh out loud! I have enjoyed the guest hosts and adore Misha!! The podcast flows nicely and is entertaining. I’ve been telling everyone about this one!
Don’t like the guests chatter
I love the concept of this show. The topics are very interesting. However, the forced, fake laughter by the host and guests make it hard to listen to. Just let the listener laugh when we want to rather than the host and guests force laughter at stuff that isn’t funny. It’s tiresome.
The content is so good but listening to the host and his guests fake laugh at their bad jokes the entire episode is annoying.
Great show luv it each episode makes me laugh and helps me get threw my work day.. thanks for makin a show that’s not as sad as all the true crime shows, this is a very refreshing podcast.. Keep up the good work hope to hear many more episodes 💯😊….

Love this podcast, love the main host. Don’t love the revolving door of other hosts. One episode in particular was unlistenable. Would love to have a permanent duo or something.
Host is hilarious. Good relevant flop topics
I love this podcast! There are always great topics, and it’s very well produced. I look forward to every new episode.
This is one of my absolute favs. I came for Misha and I stayed for how professional and entertaining it is (and also Misha lol).
These are great stories but the presenter makes themself too much a part of it. Too much trying to be clever and giggling just doesn’t work. It’s way more annoying than entertaining. The stories and research are good history, though.
I love this podcast! The topics are always fun things that I remember from my childhood. I enjoy getting the backstory on a lot of things that made a splash on the scene and then just fizzled out. They can’t release new episodes fast enough!!
I love the format of the show. I’m excited to learn about new flops each week. Misha is hilarious and so expressive each week.
Just listened to TSDW about Slither and now here I am a new fan of The Big Flop. Informative, funny, and fascinating.
