Katy is truly a natural storyteller. Each podcast is so atmospheric, but retains the coziness of telling ghost stories around the campfire.

I quite liked Scary Stories from Camp Roanoke, but Nearly Departed is on a whole other level narratively speaking. It’s very clever and carefully crafted, written, and thought out. An impressive new effort from a talented young storyteller.

First off Katy’s voice is so wonderful to listen to! Secondly, the details in these stories are so engrossing, so specific and so relatable (the one about falling asleep to Nick at Nite?? Perfect.) Finally, I’m just hooked, I can’t wait to hear the next episode!!

I was a huge Scary Stories from Camp Roanoke fan (I’m still re-listening to episodes) and this podcast is such a natural and sweet extension of the spooky, cozy vibe Katy does so well! She has such a gift for storytelling, and I can’t wait to hear more episodes! Listening to the first episode today was an absolute treat and a great way to kick off spooky season!
